Getting to know you....

I'm Tim, from (mid-northern) New Hampshire.

Married, with 4 kids (currently 7, 6, 5, and 1)

Found the DIS in the back half of 2007 when planning for our first family Disney trip in April 2008. Had been to WDW many many times when younger, but this was my first trip in close to 10 years.

I'm Jen (surprise!), and I'm in Indiana. I'm married to a techie who I've turned into a Disney nut. He told me yesterday as we were listening to a Podcast that he wants to join the boards and send in a question to the Podcast team so they can read it, since I haven't been able to (of course, I've only tried once). We have three kids (7, 5, and 9 mo) who've all been to Disney - the older two have been three times already. Yes, our families sometimes think we're nuts, too.

I've always been a Disney nut (went twice with parents and once with friends in high school). I found the DIS when I was planning a WDW trip with some of my in-laws in 2007. My sister-in-law and I (she's also here on the boards) became addicted quickly. After a smaller immediate-family-only trip last fall, I listened to my first podcast, where they happened to review the same MNSSHP that we'd been to. I've been hooked ever since. :goodvibes I have to admit that I lurk a lot on these particular boards, but they're now the first (and often only) ones I check. One of these days, I'm going to make it to Mousefest (or maybe the 2nd annual Podcast cruise???? ;) ) so I can meet some of these great people face to face.

Too funny, I also married a techie that I turned into a Disney nut- does yours always admire the technology behind every ride and attraction? Mine was particularly fascinated with Toy Story Mania recently. Anyway, I kept telling him about all the questions I was sending in and all about the show (I have never had a question picked)- so he decides to listen once, sends in a question and it gets picked...figures ;)

I'm Alessandra, I'm 20 and I live in Trieste, Italy.
I've lived in Italy, Equador and Peru because of my dad's job. I'm studying at University and I'm planning in two years to study in the USA. I want to be a film maker :). I love the DIS I found it searching for some information of WDW and then I heard BBB Boutique review and then I started searching for the podcast.... then in the podcast I heard about the boards... What keeps me returning here is that people that cares about you without even seen you and we all have the same passion WDW!! the podcast and the boards always keeps me a big SMILE!!:)

I'm Tom from Long Island, New York.

I haven't posted much on the Podcast board until recently.

I'm always open to talking to new people so PM me whenever you feel free!

Hi everyone, How did I miss this thread. I'm Liz 40 year old mom to a 3 year old little guy. We currently live in Delaware and are attempting a move to Florida. I have been married 17 years. I am a nurse and my husband is a Respiratory Therapist his name is Gene. I found the boards trying to plan a trip years back. I didnt register for about 2 years. Found the podcast shows about 2 years ago and came over to the podcast board just about the time Wild Oscar (Rex) had his stalking episode of Pete. I love it here!!!

Like I wish for Disney I am wondering how I missed this thread. But then it was in November and we were out visiting our son in Seattle then. I am probably the oldest member posting here. I am Marilyn, a nurse, married for 46 years to Skip a chemist. We have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. My husband also loves Disney. My favorite thing to do is walk down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and sing along with the music. We took our older kids once in the 70's and then starting taking the grandkids in the 90's. Found The Dis in 2000 when I was planning my (cough cough) 60th birthday. We took the whole family and it was the best birthday I ever had. I planned the whole thing on The Dis. We now go at least once a year and when we do an annual pass try to go 3x a year. I seldom post, as I really have nothing concrete to offer but do love reading the posts and listen to the podcast every week. We are going on the Podcast cruise, though my husband, who does love Disney but is not sure he wants to join in all the "goings on"" on the cruise. He will though- just has to be coaxed.

Hey I'm Cory and I'm a medical student in NY. I usually end up in Disney about twice a year and always prefer the Boardwalk :) I play hockey on my off time and usually try to get some sailing in during the summer.

Recently I've been trying to catch up on all the old Disney classics...did Lady and the Tramp the other day...I don't really remember the older movies so I'm trying to get up to speed!

I guess I missed this the first go-around. This is a great thread not just for new folks, but for those of us who've been around intermittently.

So, here's my little bio:
* I'm David, but you can call me anything (I've already been called it by now)
* I live in south central MA (south central representin', yo)
* I live with my fiancee (a vet student) and our four cats (vet student's practice cats...)
* I just finished my Master's degree
* I work in manufacturing management for a DoD contractor
* Dave sometimes speaks in the third person

I'm a bit of a "punctuated poster" - periods of nothing followed by bursts of activity. It's the nature of my job, between the hours and the travel.

And I sign everything like-a-this...TGr for "The Grumpus"

I'll jump in too!

I'm Lee-Ellen - I'm married and a work-at-home mom of 2 little princesses. We live near Baltimore.

I've made several one-day trips to WDW throughout my life, including a visit before WDW was even open (I was 5, I remember there was a gift shop) and a visit when Space Mountain first opened (I remember the 2.5 hr wait!)

When I started planning our first trip with the girls, I found the DIS (can't remember how, though...). My love for Disney was rekindled when I saw the look on my girls' faces as we walked into MK. I found the podcast after that trip - and I look forward to it every week.

I'm new to these boards. My name is Phyllis. I'm married and live in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I have 3 kids, a son who just turned 18, and 2 daughters 15 and 10. My husband likes Disney but not as much as me. I've always liked Disney, but it became a bigger passion in 2000, when we went as a family for the first time. And it's become an obsession since I got my i-pod and have discovered podcasts and disney websites. I love listening to the Dis. I went to my first Magic Meets and Mousefest in 2008. I hope to attend those events every year!

Hello all! I missed this the first time around as I was not on the boards much over the holidays. So, here goes -

I'm Mary (group says, "hello mary"). I have been on the boards for several years now (even prior to the infamous crash wayyyyy back). Found the boards when looking for WDW information during the planning of a vacation and have never looked back.
I live in Southeastern PA and my DH and I travel to WDW pretty much annually now. We hope to relocate to central FL in a few years. Dh and I are both accountants which is extremely boring but we're not!! :hyper2:
I found the podcast by accident one day while surfing the site and that was that - have listened every week since. Finding the podcast board took me a little longer - used to hang out on the planning and resorts boards but you guys are loads more fun :cheer2: and much less angry! :grouphug:

Hi! :wave2: I'm Cheryl and I'm 36 on Friday:cheer2:
We live just north of Austin,Tx.
I have a DH who is 39 and holding-however since he had a liver transplant in 2006 we are grateful for every year! I also have 2 DS, one 7 and one 5.

There is also Tiny and Mozart our miniature schanauzers who think they are DS's 1&2:rotfl:

I found the DIS first in 2007 and lurked for planning our first trip after Reece's transplant-didn't know about the "nice guys" in here:rolleyes:

Found the podcasts just two days after booking our land and sea package last year. And oddly enough we will be getting on the Wonder the day ya'll get off-I have thought about leaving the guys in the parks while I join the podcast cruise....:rolleyes1

Hi There!:wave2:
I am Kim (one of many, popular name on this board) and I LOVE the disboards and most especially the podcast. They just crack me up each and every week and I love their chemistry with each other. I am happily married and my hubby not only puts up with my disney fandom but encourages it :cool1: We have 2 daughters (5 and 2). I became a fan of Disney as a small child and it was my childhood dream to work there. I was a part of the WDW College Program in 1995 and it was great. I plan to move back to WDW once my girls are adults and "retire" to Disney. I am a huge Disney villains fan, I prefer the Polynesian over all the other resorts and I never miss out on Peter Pan's Flight or a Crystal Palace breakfast.
Nice to meet you!
Kim

i guess i never posted on here....

I'm Michelle, 35, been on the DIS since I think 2001.......i know, a long time, but i lurked a lot back then. I live in Plano, TX , a suburb of Dallas.

I am married- for 8 years now, but we've been together for 16 total.
We have one son, who is 14 months old now. I work full time as a Director of Marketing for a company that distributes aesthetic medical equipment (lasers, lipo etc.).

I am a huge disney nut and pursued my dream to work there by doing the college program in the fall of 1996, when i was a senior in college. i had one class left to graduate when did the program. I considered staying and trying for an advanced internship, but my DH (boyfriend at the time) was pretty upset I had left for a semester to FL anyhow (we lived together here). So I came home, graduated and we got married a few years later at Mandalay Bay in vegas! I worked at Hollywood and vine at the Studios and loved every minute of it. I still keep in touch with my old WDW roomies and friends, now 13 years later!

I've travelled to WDW on at least 6-7 family vacations over the years, including one with just DH and I and one with my sis and I only. DH is not a disney nut. In fact he just puts up with my madness, I wish he shared it, but he prefers WOW. :rotfl2:

I just found the podcast last year, although i've been on the boards forever. I've listened to all of 08 and most of 07, but still getting through the old ones.

that's it about me- see you crazy folks on the cruise!

Might as well introduce myself.

I'm Dustin, some know me as Eeyore, some as Raven, a few as the Waffle King & most everyone else knows me as Sir Owen, a evil manager in the pro wrestling industry.

I come from a small town in West Virginia known as Parkersburg & I share my little home with a very cute calico kitty kat named Princess Melei. When i'm not managing top bad guys like "Genuine" Jock Samson & Death Falcon Zero, I am usually located at my place of business, a box office cashier at Regal Cinemas or at my favorite hang out, BW3 where i'm playing NTN Buzztime Trivia.

I love anything & everything Disney related & am the resident know-it-all around my area. I've helped people plan WDW vacations & given tips to random people walking around the parks when I was there.

I love the Disboards, its like our own little quirky family & I feel like I definately belong here. I love the Podcast & hope to be able to meet all of you one day.

Anything else you'd like to know, simply ask.

Hey Dustin! I used to live in Vienna and grew up in Morgantown. Nice to see a fellow Mountaineer!

Since we're having a WV lovefest here :rotfl2: , I'd like to introduce myself as well -

My name's Molly (26)! I'm originally from St. Marys, a town both of you should have at least heard of (even if you've never driven thru it on Rt. 2  )

My husband Travis (27) & I live in Morgantown WV, with 2 cats and a fat chocolate lab. We both did our undergrad at WVU, and he's finishing up Med School here before we make our way out into the wide world outside of WV.
I currently work as a Crisis Intervention Specialist - which basically means I answer the WV suicide hotline, and also take petitions/facilitate mental hygiene hearings on people being involuntarily committed. (It's really not as exciting as it sounds! :coffee: )

I've been a longtime lurker on the DIS, and I just recently came out of the shadows, and started to post. I also post over on the Passporter, but I really like the cool vibe over here. DH & I  all things Disney, take at least 1 trip to WDW every year, and we own at Animal Kingdom Lodge & Bay Lake Towers. We're also huge fans of the podcast!

Hi newmouse2008 and everyone else too.

I too am more of a lurker, but I post occassionally. My name is Brandy ad my middle name is Lou-so no surprises there. I went to Disney as a kid, but became an addict as an adult. Luckily, my dear husband is also hooked. He still asks me why in the world we went to Jamaica instead of WDW back in 2006. And the kids--they've been brainwashed since birth. (We have 2 girls, Lorelei is 5 and Katia is almost 2). We live in the Fox Valley (Wisconsin) and only get to Orlando about once a year right now.

We finally bought ito DVC in 2007 (should have done it much sooner). It was a reward to my husband from himself for quitting smoking. He is still a non-smoker (almost 2 yrs now). I tell him that if he does start smoking again he can't come to WDW with us.

I think I found the boards in or around 2006 and the podcast shortly thereafter. Now I amaze my local Disney friends with all the knowledge I gleam from the boards (ahem). Seriously, I have shown them the site, sent them links, but apparently they don't visit as faithfully as I do. They just call me and ask "What deals does Disney have going right now?" or "How far out can we book dinner?" At least those people don't make fun of my little obsession. But when I hear our 5 yr old going on & on about Disney I realize that maybe we have a little bit of an addiction that is , umm, abnormal.

The podcasts get me through tough days at work (take my mind elsewhere), Saturday mornings of cleaning my house & car trips "up Nort" to grandma's house.

I have also gotten so many great ideas, not only about vacation planning, but about making Mickey head Christmas ornaments, budget/safe cleaning products, and countless other things.
