Hi everyone, my name is Bill. I live in Greenwood, Indiana, USA with my DW Yvonne, and 2 DS, Simon & Zach, ages 15 & 11. We have never been to DLP, but it very high on our list of Disney vacations for the near future. We love WDW and someday hope to visit every Disney theme park in the world. I have sent away several times for brochures for DLP, love to read up on everything they have to offer in Paris. I also visit this board almost as much as the WDW threads just to keep up with what is happening at DLP. You are a great group of people just reading all of your posts. I think it is fantastic that people all over the world share in the love of Disney and its theme parks. I do have one question though, I was wondering how this board got started on DLP, and if someday someone would start one for both the Tokyo parks and Hong Kong, once it gets open of course. I would love to read up on those park too, and also get to know in a small way about the people who frequent them just like we frequent our favorite Disney park. Thanks for the DLP thread, keep up the posting, because I will be here reading and occasionally posting to keep in touch. Bill :earsboy:

Hi Bill,

Nice to "see" you! It is also my ambition to visit all the Disney parks around the world. I've got a good idea of when I can do Disneyland and Hong Kong but Tokyo is proving more of a challenge for me ;)

I don't know the answer to your question about why the DLP board started but I'm betting that Rob@rar.org.uk will when he next posts. My guess would be that there was enough demand to warrant its own forum, and my other guess would be that the same would apply for the other Disney parks.

I know there was a recent thread or two on Hong Kong Disneyland on the UK Community Board, would you like me to dig them out for you?

Cheers

Karen

Thanks for the reply Karen. I will look them up, gives me something else to look for while here on the DIS boards. I think I could spend an entire day here if work and family didn't interfere, if you know what I mean? :teeth:

Just noticed that a lot of the photos have disappeared off this thread. Anyone got ideas why? Or is it just my computer????? I still can't get on the board via the "normal" route.

Di, I am guessing it's because you are in via the IP address and not the normal route :(

I will pop over to the Tech Board and see if there is an update - if there is I will send you a PM :cool1:

Thank you Karen - sorry to cause you trouble :guilty: As long as I can get on that's the main thing but I don't want to miss out on anything!!! :teeth:

Hi

My name is Rhiannon and I'm 23. I'm sulking at the moment as I can't get on the internet at home :badpc: and am robbing my Mum's wherever possible! Can't go without my Disboards fix! :disrocks: So just in case anyone was wondering :rolleyes1 that's why I haven't been on these boards as much as usual.

My Mum diberry has already posted here and mentioned me so I'll keep this short and sweet. I live with my boyfriend Dave in Nottingham and I'm currently a civil servant but am working out my notice as I am soon to start a job in HR

I love Disney (obviously) and also (I'm sure Verity won't be impressed to hear) I'm a season ticket holder at Nottingham Forest. I've been to WDW twice, in 96 & 97 but since then have developed a real fear of flying  Then one day Mum and I decided to give DLP a go (why didn't we think of it before??!!) We went 3 times last year and have booked to go again in November

I think that's enough about me!

Rhiannon :wizard:

Hello - what a nice idea to have this thread!:)

I am 41 years old and the mother of John DS10 and Alice DD8 and wife to Foils 38. We live in Chelmsford Essex with our two cats who usually keep my lap warm while I browse the boards, but not tonight! I work part time in the Schools Service for the County Council collecting statistics.

I didn't even really know that I was a Disney fan until very recently! I visited DLP two years ago "for the kids";) and realised that actually I have always loved Disney but not acknowledged it. As a child I would happily endure 30 minutes of Rolph Harris wittering on just to see the five short clips from Disney films. I also loved the Wonderful World of Disney series, but hadn't recalled it for 25 years or so. Memories and nostalgia are very powerful!

Last month we went to Orlando and we had the time of our lives. I feel sorry for those people who don't feel the magic. I slip back into my ten year old self very easily and its me not DS or DD who can't wait for the next ride/show!

We can't afford to go to Orlando next year but Tesco Clubcard vouchers mean we can return to DLP next year and we are planning to spend three nights at Sequoia Lodge in January.:cool1:

I enjoy the DIS generally, but this board has a feeling of community which I particularly like. I really enjoy reading your posts and look forward to happy planning for January at DLP.:wave2:

Regards
Rosie

Rosie, nice to "see" you over here!

I think you have put into words a lot of my feelings for Disney. Very eloquently put, too :)

Bless those Clubcard vouchers - they are funding my trip to DLP in Feb! If only they would release those winter prices so I could book!

 everyone!

I'm Jessica (27 for a few more weeks), live outside of Seattle, Washington, with DH (a French native) and our three kids (our youngest Amelie is a little present we brought back from our last trip to DLP).

Our first trip to DLP was in Feb. of 2001, we stayed at the Sequoia Lodge which was nice, but, the "western" touches did cause me to get the giggles a time or two.

Our second trip was October 2003, this time we went with my in-laws and stayed at the Mytravels Explorers, it was new and just ok.

Since then we've spent a week at WDW and 3 days at DL, we'll be going "home" to DLP sometime in the next year, we just haven't decided when yet! I can't wait, the kids are Disney obsessed and Amelie is well on her way to her obsession, she was a riot at DL, clapping and cheering along with everything :teeth:

Hello!
I'm Laurie (33), living in a suburb of Chicago. My DH Michael (33) and I met during our senior year of college when we were both studying in Rome. (I had to go all the way to Italy to meet a guy from Chicago). We've been traveling together ever since, although now we don't travel quite as light as we used to. DD Isabella (5) and DS Vincenzo (3) require a bit of extra packing! We bought into DVC right after our marriage and it has been wonderful- ensuring subsequent trips to WDW and other exchanges. When we're not jet-setting with preschoolers ;) , I love cooking, gardening and volunteering with ALPHA.

I stay home with the kids- although I swear I'm busier now helping out with their school activities and at our church, than I ever was working in marketing.
DH is hoping to change jobs shortly- we are keeping our fingers crossed regarding a tremendous opportunity. I don't want to write too much about it because I don't want to jinx anything. Just wish us pixie dust!

We are in the initial planning of a trip to Italy next May, ending with a few days at Disney Paris.

Welcome Jessica & Laurie :)

Nice to see you both!

:wizard: :wizard: Pixie dust for your DH's job Laurie!

Hi my name is Sally and i'm 24. I live with my DH 28, DDog Milo 4 & DCat Millie 6 in Somerset.
I work within the office of a small company in Somerset where we make hand carved furniture. Don't tell them but i don't have internet access at home so this is what i do all day :rotfl: I have been working with the same company full time for 5 years and i also work part time as a dance teacher. So as you can see i don't have much time off.
My DH went to DLRP in 1993 before we met and took me for our Honeymoon in 2001. Since then we have tried to go every year. We failed last year and so hope to go twice this year to make up. My DH is a big Star Wars fan and Secret Disney Fan although he doesn't admit it when he isn't in Disney.
I would love to go to WDW as i have never been although DH is scared of flying so it makes it difficult. We are saving up to take a great holiday cruising there and back. That may take some time!!
My company is just opening a new showroom in California so they have promised to take me to DL ca. to see Mickey Mouse for free YAY :goodvibes
If that ever Happens!! :sad2:
LIKES: everything Disney and Musical
DISLIKES: rudeness and incomptence :wave2:

Welcome Sally! Nice to "see" you!

Bet your DH loves Star Tours then :teeth:

Not sure what it is about men and Star Wars (particularly men of a certain age!) but my DH is a massive Star Wars fan too. He has an immense array of those figure things and various space ship devices  Happily for me he loves Disney too :)

Have a super time at your graduation Bonnie ! Enjoy

Hi Everyone

Having posted the photos of my son at his "Disney Graduation " I think that I should introduce myself. My name is Dee and I live in the UK with my DH and 2 of my 4DS. The two oldest have left home, but we still have a 19 year old and an 8 year old living with us.
We have to confess to being "Disney freaks " and for me a holiday at Disney is total escapism. If we don't go every year I have withdrawl symtoms !
Our first visit to WDW was in 1997, and it was great, it has special memories for me because it was one of our last "family holidays" A lot has happened in the proceeding years incuding the birth of our youngest son who also loves Disney, and our two eldest flying the nest ! Little did we know in 1997 that when our second son flew the nest it would be to WDW as a UK Cultural Representative in the UK pavillion at Epcot. Some of you may have even met him.
Over the years we have met some great people during our visits to Disney and on the Disney websites.

Welcome Dee!

That is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your son! And for you, as you must need to go and visit him as often as possible ;)

Welcome to the Disneyland Paris Forum :)

Karen
