That was really interesting Tammy!! You truly are a devoted Disney lover!!! You are sooooooooo lucky living only an hour away from WDW!!!!! I hope you have a really wonderful trip to Europe!!! If you want to post a picture you could try this :
You need to find a web hosting service eg: http://photobucket.com or the DISboard gallery –go to “pictures/video” at the top of the DISboard page and when it takes you to the main board it says: “add your own Disney pictures here”, then just follow the instructions to upload them from your computer etc. This will give your pictures their own individual URLs.
When your photos have a URL
1. get the photo to the size you want by double left-clicking on it to make it big
2. rightclick on the photo you want to use
3. properties
4. rightclick on URL address
5. select all
6. rightclick again
7. copy
8. go back to the text where you want to put the photo
9. type:
with no spaces

We'll look forward to that picture really soon!!! :sunny:

Great to "meet" you properly Tammy! :)

My DH says I'm only truly happy, when I'm planning a trip. The sad thing is, he's right.

Sounds like perfectly normal behaviour to me!! :teeth:

Hi, newb alert ...

I'm Paul, married to Sue with two kids - Stephen (18yo) and Rachel (10yo). We live near Durham in the NE of England.

Our first visit to DLRP was last Halloween through winning a radio competition - a full 2night/3day package at the Newport Bay. Stephen (being 18) refused to go, and I admit I was sceptical at first after hearing so much negativity about the place. The coach trip was tiring but DLRP was absolutely fantastic, and we all had a brilliant time. So much so that we are going again this halloween (Oct 24th-28th) and this time Stephen wants to go ... we're also taking Sue's mum along !

I suspect that the rest arent as excited as me and Rachel, but where else can a 40yo bloke revert to childhood and enjoy a holiday at the same level as his 10yo daughter ? I must admit I dont particularly want to go to WDW, as I think it's a bit too "american" for me, DLRP has just the right balance. Can't wait :cheer2:

Hello Paul - nice to "meet" you and welcome to the DIS!! :wave2:

Hi Paul
welcome to Disboard. hope you have fun planning your own visit to DLP. Sure your ealdest DS will have a great time once the bug hits :)

Reid

Hi Paul and welcome to the Dis!

Good to see you on here.

Nothing wrong with reverting to childhood ;) I do it all the time :teeth:

Cheers

Exactly the reason Walt Disney thought of the parks in the first place!!!

Well if you do ever go you'll wish you'd gone years before - and like the rest of us you'll then spend every year saving up for the next trip!!! But yes, DLP is brilliant!!! You have such good taste!!! Stephen will love it too if he can forget being "cool" - it must be difficult for teenage boys!!!

Hello!

I've posted a few times here, and know Bexx originally from another thread, but I thought it was time to tell others more about me:

I am Marilyn, but all my friends call me Mar' for short. I live in the U.S. on Long Island in a medium sized suburb called Valley Stream. It's about 30 minutes by car from NYC. I was a stay at home mom when my kids were small. Since 1998 I have worked as a teacher for NY Blood Center, the largest Blood Bank in NYC/Long Island/New Jersey. I am happy to say I very much like what I do, it suits me perfectly.

I have two daughters, Becky is 20 and Sarah will be 15 in October. Becky is in her 2d year of university, while Sarah is in 10th grade. We have two cats and a dog, all rescues from local pounds. I was married for 19 years, divorced since 2001.

I grew up on Disney, seeing all of the full length animated features, watching the Mickey Mouse club with my older sisters, and then continuing to watch Walt on a show he hosted in the states (not sure if you Brits are familiar with it) called the Wonderful World of Color. I truly think Walt was a creative genious, and his spirit was/is inspiring. My house, while not quite a shrine, is decorated with a lot of Disney memorablia, the majority from my many trips to WDW in FL. I joined DVC last year, as you will see in the signature below. You'll also see that I have been to DCA once, and this November I will be taking my first trip to DLP, I am so excited!

Other interests include Riding Horses, Hiking, working out, reading, crosswords and most any word game; all sorts of music but particularly Classic Rock; spending time with family and friends; roller blading; and being silly as often as life allows.

Favorite WDW things to do/attractions: Haunted Mansion; the band in Epcot that plays by the Canadian Pavillion whose name is "Off Kilter"; Pirates of the Caribbean; Carousel of Progress; Spaceship Earth; All of the 3D and 360 Movies; Walt Disney:One Man's Dream; Peter Pan's Flight.

I hope this wasn't too long. I have enjoyed reading about everyone else, this is a fun thread! Oh and if you'd like to see my picture feel free to click the link below.

Evening all, my name is Sam (short for Samantha but noone ever calls me that!) and I am 28 and live in Leicester with my lovely partner Jane and our highly spoilt cocker spaniel, Riley. :paw:

I am currently Team Leader for the service admininistation team of the countries second biggest fire alarm company and pretty much hate it! For the last three years I have been back at University studing Law via distance learning and will complete my studies next June. Hopefully I will then be starting my training contract with a law firm in Leicester which two years later should see me qualifying as a solicitor!

I am nuts about Disney but haven't been to the magic for nearly 4 years now (crikey, can't believe it's been that long!). Our last trip, and Jane's first was to POR in December 2001 which was a very special trip as I suprised Jane with a blessing of our relationship the Wishing Well in Fantasyland in the shadow of the Castle (Thankfully she said yes!).

We've just booked to go to DLRP at the Newport Bay Club in December and I can't wait! I have been lurking for a few months now and decided it was about time I started asking some questions so be prepared!

Hi Sam

welcome to DISboard. You have come to the right place regarding DLP.
Phew, thank goodness Jane said yes ;)
If you have any questions just start a new thread and hopefully everyone will join in.

Hey everyone! My husband and I are huge Disney fans, and usually get to WDW about two-three times a year.

We were married in Disney last September, but a hurricane put a few kinks in the plans. We ended up locked in a hotel with all 100 of our guests on our wedding day! It all turned out great in the end, and Disney really pulled through for us. But, it caused a ton of stress and our honeymoon cruise was re-routed due to damages.

So- we decided to treat ourselves to a great 1st anniversary trip, 10 days in France! We're starting out with 2 nights at the DL Hotel, then 5 nights in Paris, then staying at a castle in the Loire valley for a few nights.

I really love all the info I am finding here- I have so many questions about all of the locations that its great to be able to get so much help.

Thanks everyone!

It's lovely to see some new posters on this thread! :wave2:

Welcome all to the Disneyland Paris forum.

Mar - I've just got to say, we just got home after 12 nights at the BWV. I loved it  I can think of a few ladies who would swap places with you in that photo with Off Kilter :teeth:

Sam - great to see you posting! I think POR is a beautiful resort and I'm sure you will like NPC as well :)

Shortikell - what a wonderful anniversary trip you have planned :) though I am sorry to hear your wedding and honeymoon did not go as it should have :(
I feel sure you will more than make up for your disappointment with your nearly-here trip!

Hello Miffy nice to meet you and thank you so much for the welcome! I'm so happy you enjoyed BWV so much, it's lovely when others are equally taken with a place you yourself adore.

As for the ladies who'd like to swap places with me in the Off Kilter photo--They'll have to pull me away, and I am going to hold on tightly! ;)

Hi, my name is claire (37) I am married to bryan(41) I have two daughters eliza (9) and poppy (7) who have been brainwashed in all things disney since birth! we live near merthyr tydfil in south wales, I am a team manager for a charity and manage houses for people with a learning disability in the community. we have two miniature dachshunds called slinky and jessie and a very old cat called catface. bryan works in a factory and has unhealthy obsessions with chealsea fc and playing golf.

I have always always wanted to go to disney, always thought florida was too expensive but hoped to get there one day, I remember when DLP was announced and hoped I would get there as it was nearer, I was so pleased when it opened and so confused in the first few years that it got such a bad press.
anyway with the start up of all the budget airlines it became more of a reality and i booked us on easy jet flights from luton in october 2002 for four days at the cheyenne, then got upgraded to the sequoia lodge. we all loved it, the only way i could fault the trip was the weather! just kept thinking, imagine how great this would be in the sun!!! that was it, the 2003 summer holiday was florida, it was an expensive once in a lifetime, never to be repeated trip, which of course we repeated two years later!!!! this time we took my mum and dad and my brother, his wife and their two children 3&4 who had never even flown before! both my daughters had their birthdays there, it was amazing. we plan to go back in oct 2007, hopefully to new york first then on to florida for my 40th birthday trip.
I started on the DLP board in june when we came back fron WDW as I have always wanted to go to disney at christmas and have just had a pay rise and couldn't think of a better way to spend it, luckily bryan sort of agreed!
anyway tonight we booked the flights 1st til 4th dec and I can,t wait, christmas season at disney, another dream come true!!! :wizard:

Hello Claire - it's good to learn more about you!! It sounds like you're well and truly hooked on Disney like the rest of us!!! Christmas at DLP sounds wonderful!!!

LOL He wouldn't say the same about you and Disney by any chance? ;)

Nice to see you over here Claire hope you will join us more for planning your trip :wizard:

I think we all said "once in a lifetime trip" once, didn't we? :teeth:

thats not at all true Karen, my disney obsession is totally logical and understandable, and anyway its for the kids not me! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
