Getting to know us 12/15

Typically not until Xmas day because of little hands but I would really really like to put them out now. I might try it and see how it goes.

hey there miss buffy! how's the mil? i've missed you!

ok sorry i was Off topic....

nothing goes under until babycakes goes to bed christmas eve. and presents for other people never go under our tree. because Santa would be confused why there is presents under our tree already!! and maybe would not leave any for us!

Now, and the pile is growing each day! It's so exciting. Though I will admit to already shaking one that had my name on it! hahaha!!

I'm doing a drive by. :drive:

I'm headed out to see MIL now. Let's see how many ways she'll be PO'ed at me today. Gotta love it.

Presents under the tree now. My closet is too small to hold them all until Christmas day!

Presents that we give and the presents from us for DS are under the tree now. When Santa brings presents on Christmas Eve, they get put in front of the fireplace by our stockings.

DS never had a problem with peeking at presents or shaking them. I'm the one you have to watch out for!!!! I'm good at shaking and feeling 'em!!!:lmao:

BAMB, last I checked my brother in law was single, so how did we end up with the same MIL? hahahah!!

At my ILs, presents are under the tree now.
Here, they are still hiding needing to be wrapped and then taken to ILs house.

Growing up, my Mom would be up until 2AM wrapping presents, so that meant most of the presents wouldn't be under the tree until Christmas morning. But presents that arrived from other family members, my presents to my parents, the presents I would wrap for my Dad for my Mom, those all went under the tree.

That's basically how things work here. Presents that arrive by mail go under the tree right away, and then when DH and I wrap they go under. DH tends to wait, because I have an uncanny ability for figuring out my gifts, which bothers him. So he wants me to have as little time to guess as possible.

Presents go under the tree as soon as they are wrapped... of course not the special ones that have to be delivered 12/24.... I have a system down to a science.. ones we don't need right away get shoved to the very back... since we celebrate 2 Christmases here.... 1. for our 3 kids and 2. for the big family of all 5 kids.... The early morning Christmas always has stars on them to open.. Santa has been so gracious as to help w/ this tradition and even marks the early gifts for the 3 kids w/ stars too!!! :) Then the big blended family event takes place about 11AM...and it's a free for all.. This year we are going to do things a little different...but I have to finalize everything w/ DH...

We used to put presents under the tree. Now that DD is 2 nothing will go under the tree until Christmas eve. Even the ones that come from family. We don't want to confuse her.

Presents under the tree except for the special gifts which weren't always the most expensive but the ones that were the hardest to wrap. LOL Thats how DH and I are going to try with Noah too. We have gifts under the tree now and so far so good but we still have some time before they are to be opened. He also has never received a wrapped gift yet so he doesn't know that there are goodies in there. I actually have more trouble with my cat then the baby. Kali loves to play with bows and in doing so unwrapping the gifts.

We have always had gifts from us to others and from others to us under the tree as they were wrapped or arrived. Presents from my grandparents and parents went under on Christmas Eve. We never had gifts from Santa so that was irrelevant in my house growing up. I haven't decorated so nothing is under the tree right now and I am not sure how Sultan will do with gifts under the tree so we will have to see what happens this year. We always had tons of gifts under the tree- 5 kids with gifts for 6 people each were 30 gifts under the tree before we added any from specail friends or to and from relatives.

DH's family didn't have gifts out before Christmas unless they were celebrating early. He doesn't worry about what I choose to do though- although he does wish that I would follow his family's tradition of opening after church on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas morning- only the Santa gifts were left for the morning in his house- 1 gift each.

Nothing under the tree until after the kids are in bed on Christmas Eve. Even though they are teenagers now, I won't change that tradition. There is nothing like coming downstairs on Christmas morning and seeing all the presents under the tree. And it's DH's job to lug all the presents up from wherever they are being kept. It's easier now that we have a house with a basement, but when we lived in a 3rd floor apartment, and one year we had to hide 3 bikes - let's just say Santa earned his money that Christmas Eve.

BAMB, last I checked my brother in law was single, so how did we end up with the same MIL? hahahah!!

:rotfl2: Yeah she can be a real peach at times. Today was a good day though, DH made the DR prescribe antidepressants and they have finally kicked in.

The current comedic moment was last Sat when she complained to DH that I spend too much time at school. She said I should just live there.
DH is like, Hello we have 4 kids in the school system where else would I be. Sorry you never had to deal with that.
She said, yeah I didn't have 4 in school at one time.
DH said more like never, you only have 1 kid.

Her brain is mush I tell ya!

Well, if I had any wrapped, I'd put them under the tree.

I'll be going through tomorrow, and starting. Today I got one of those ginormous gift bags...DS20 wants a new desk chair, so I'll prob get the chair tomorrow morning, and stick it right in the bag.

Same here if i had anything wrapped. But i dont think much is going under the tree yet. With a 1yo its enough fun trying to keep her away from the poor tree. :lmao: so things may trickle out. or not come out until Christmas eve. But it makes my poor tree look even sadder. since the bottom half couldnt be decorated. Guess why. haha. man. Last year of a little one in the house! next year she will be 2 at this time. :sad1:

We've never put the presents for the kids under the tree until they went to bed Christmas Eve at my mom's. This year I wrapped them and are under our tree now. No tags, each kids has their own paper, and I wrapped everything special. Even if they knew what they were getting, they wouldn't know which gift it was. Keli knows both boys are getting IPODS, but they are wrapped completely different and in larger boxes. In fact, I wrapped one of her gifts and one of the IPODS the same so it would throw her off. I'm such a sneaky mom.

Some under the tree now--love the look of presents under the tree!:thumbsup2 Rest go out after everyone is in bed Christmas Eve.
