Hey everyone...Its been awhile...things are good, got a new pool, so I have been enjoying it. Otherwise, all is the same...

So......This weeks question....

What did you wish for as a kid? And did it come true.

I always wished for a horse. It was the one thing I always wanted. Sadly, I didnt get it :( Someday I hope.

A kitty. :)

And I never could have one. Until now. :) Due to asthma and allergies, I couldn't risk having a kitten. Now we found the Siberians, which are hypoallergenic for some people, including me. :)

I wished I would marry a Doctor....

.... and I did. ;) :p :)

I'm an only and I always wanted an older brother. Needless to say, my wish never came true. :)

To play centerfield for a Major League Baseball Team and come up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth in the 7th game of a World Series and hit a grand slam to win the game and hear the joys and screams of thousands of loyal fans.....

I didn't quite make it :D:D

Sorry, but mine is a little sad.

I always wished that I would find my real family. Things were so bad at home that I always dreamed I was adopted and that I would find my real family some day and they would love me no matter what and they would take away the pain. But I'm 200% sure I was not adopted.

true love...someone that I could treat like my prince and they would treat me like their princess

I have thought that had happened, but don;t think so at this time

Silky, my DH had the same dream, except for him, it was third base....

A number of years ago, the first time DH and I went to Boston, he just HAD to go take a look at Fenway. It was January, and I was sure the park was closed, but he wanted to see it anyway. So, off we went. Well, darned if the doors weren't wide open. We strolled on in, and even though we kept thinking someone would come along and ask us to leave, we never saw a soul.

DH actually went out on the field and ran the bases! The highlight of the trip for him... :) :)

I always wished for 3 things.
1. true love- I got it!
2. An older brother or a twin sister. Nope.
3. A light brite or a Mr. Potato Head. Nope.

I always wished for peace... rather cheesey I know but even now when I wish on a star, I still hope for that.

I always wished for a horse when I was a kid. I sorta of got one. My aunt and uncle bought me one. Before it was a year old, the owner of the stables where it was boarded said that another horse kicked and injured it so badly that it had to be put to sleep. But my aunt and uncle saw it a couple of years later. The stable owner lied to them.

It was a palomino.

All I really wanted when I was a kid was to feel like my parents loved me, for my brother to be healthy and to have a stable home life.

Almost 6 years ago my brother went to heaven, he is now healthy.

My relationship with my parents is better than it used to be, I know my mom loves me and I think in his own strange way my dad does too.

I'm not being bounced from family to family anymore so I guess my home life is stable but I would still love for it to be more peaceful.

I wished that when I grew up I would have twin daughters. How funny is that? I can remember talking with my sister every night about what I would name them and how I would dress them....didn't happen. I got one handsome son, instead.

My sister had identical twin boys, the stinker.

That would be a highlight for any baseball fan, Red Sox fan or not! I'd prefer to do that at Wrigley, personally, but Fenway is living history!

I wanted to marry Ryne Sandberg, the Allstar 2nd baseman for the Cubs in the 80s. I was 8, he was 24 or something close to that. That didn't happen, but I think I'm OK with that. ;) I did find true love.

As an only child, I always wanted to believe I had a long lost identical twin that Mom and Dad had to give up for adoption. I did have lots of offers from friends for their little brothers or sisters to fill the "void" :) I knew I had it good as an only child though

My biggest wish growing up was that when I grew up and had kids that they would know I loved them, that they would never cower from me, that I would never abuse them like I was abused, and they would never wish to be invisible so no one could hurt them. That I would never turn into a monster that enjoyed hurting others or belittling them to make my self feel bigger or to boost up my self esteem. Essentially, I didn't want to turn out to be anything like my dad. Well, my kids know I love them, they'd rather laugh at me than cower at me:teeth:, I've never abused them, and they both are semi-hams when they want to be.:teeth: I hurt if I hurt someone, and I learned helping someone else boosts up my self-esteem more than anything could.:) So, I guess my biggest wish came true.:)

I also had another wish. I wished for about the entire Sears and JC Penney catalogue every Christmas. I only got 1 or 2 things on my bzillion item list though.;)

KrnB, I was in love with Ryne too.:) He made me love the Cubs.:teeth: I believe he'll be 45 yo next month.;)

1. Also as an only child I would ask Santa for a baby brother/sister every year.
2. I wanted a horse. My dad said that they ate too much.
3. An easy bake oven. My mother told me to use the real one but there was something about those little mixes and small pans.
Well I was 0 for 3.
As I got older I dreamed of owning and Professional football team. But then I realized you had to have money to buy them.

I always wished for the same thing , a DD and a DS. I could picture them in my head ( I know it is sad LOL) the girl would have blue eyes and blonde hair. The boy would have dark hair and green eyes . Strange part is that is exactly the way it turned out !
Oh yeah and I remember the 1st time I saw the guys in the new fire station they built by our house when I was 12. I wanted one of those for my husband. I got that it just took me a little longer then I thought LOL

It was his poster in the Chicago SunTimes in '84 that got me watching baseball so I could see him. And from there I got hooked on the game. I had a shrine to him in my room up through high school. I saw him in the Celeb Softball game during the All Star game this year, and it was kind of hard seeing him look older. Like he was supposed to stay the same age while I grew up. :) But I guess that happens with any star that a kid gets a crush on.

Funny that only children always seemed to want a sibling while growing up. And those with siblings were always willing to give theirs up.

It was about that time I became a fan of his, I mean of the Cubs, KrnB.:) And I miscalculated. He'll be 46 next month.:) The only live major league game I've ever seen, Ryne came to Atlanta.:)
