Used the Transportation Wizard to see how we could get to Epcot from FW.

Results were as follows:
Car directly to Epcot®
Estimated Time: 21 minutes0 0Bus directly to Epcot®
Estimated Time: 13 minutes0 0Bus to Transportation & Ticket Center
Transfer to Monorail to Epcot®
Estimated Time: 43 minutes0 0Boat to Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Transfer to Bus to Epcot®
Estimated Time: 51 minutes0 0

Is it possible to Ride the Boat to the MK and then board the monorail to Epcot? Also, we will not have Park Hoppers, so we will not be entering any other park that day.

Thanks in Advance!

Yes, its the best way in my opinion

No, you can't catch the rail to epicot from the kingdom, you to go to the ticket and tranportation center. The best way is to drive, or take the bus

That is what I figured, that the Monorails were on a different loop... But had to ask ;). My son loves the monorail, so we will just leave FW extra early on the day we do Epcot.

Thanks for the quick response!

If you take the boat to the Contemp. Then the monorail to the ticket and transportation center then you can take the rail to Epcot

I've never thought that the bus ride was that long, and I've been going since I was 8 (I'm now 17) ;). So, I would suggest just taking the bus. You can take the boat to the Contemporary or to MK, and then get on the monorail to the TTC, where you'd have to transfer to the Epcot monorail, but it takes a while to do that. It's a nice, fun trip that way (lots of things to see), but it would take an awfully long time ;). I would say to just take the bus from the Fort; I would say it's between a 10 minute and 15 minute ride from the Fort to Epcot, which I don't think is that bad. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

It is a short bus ride but waiting at the Ft. For the right bus can take awhile. I was just thinking that if the son lines to ride the rail that is the way. We just drive, it's shorter time and we can leave when we want without waiting.

I'm going to agree with your transportation wizard that it's probably going to take you around 40 minutes from the Fort by bus - you have to consider getting to the bus stop, waiting for a bus, arriving at Epcot and getting thru the gate. That being said, we enjoy riding all methods of disney transportation and consider it all part of our disney experience.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest!:thumbsup2

Will defiantly take the shortest way back (as I know we will be exhausted)...

We are early risers (as we all are up by 05:00 during the week and it is hard habit to break). So I am thinking that we will just eat oatmeal in the cabin, jump on the boat to the Contemporary and do as suggested!

Thanks for all the suggestions! This has me scratching my head on what is best. (good problem to have) :goodvibes

Check to see what time the first boat leaves for the Contemporary. If you are trying to make rope-drop (recommended) it may not get you there in time if the boats don't start running early enough.

The fastest and most direct way is by car from FW to all the parks, with the exception of MK. However, there is something magical about arriving at Epcot via the Monorail and circling Spaceship Earth as you pull into the station. :woohoo:

Just wanted to add that option 3 doesn't work because as far as I know there is no direct bus to the TTC from FW. Its one of the ongoing never fixed issues with this tool.

Also 2 and 4 require an internal bus, golf cart, bike or walk.

PS I cleaned up your list.

I most often drive to Epcot but there were a few times that we took the boat to MK, got on the monorail and went back to the TTC where we transferred to the Epcot monorail (because I will forever stand by my statement that I will not ride the bus!). Was it longer than driving? Yes, of course. But because I knew I may have a drink or two (or three ;)) at WS for F&W, I thought it was worth the extra time. Plus, we love the boat so much and we love the monorail, too. Even with the amount of time it took it was a very enjoyable ride both coming and going. I wouldn't suggest it if you have a tight schedule or the crowds are so bad you may need to wait for the 2nd or 3rd load, but if you can travel at leisure I say go for it! :)

we love taking the boats and monorail and just enjoy the different modes of transportation!!! We often go by boat over to MK, hop the monorail over to the TTA then change to the Epcot monorail.....no biggie and the DGD loves all the rides lol....

Our son like to ride, so we often take the Launch from the Marina to MK, walk to the Ferry Boat and take that to the TTC, then catch the Monorail to Epcot. That's the only time he gets to ride the Ferry, so it's a nice diversion. Sometimes take the same trip back, or just two monorails to the MK and Launch to FW.

All very good suggestions and fun, makes me wish I was there now but then I always wish I was there right now.
We drive to the parks alot since we are annual pass holders parking is free.
It is fun riding the rail thru Epcot before going in looking at everything
