How does one get through to SOG? I have been trying now for two weeks and the line is always busy. Is there any secrets out there that you can share? Thanks for your help in advance.:wave2:

Have you tried e-mail? I've been pretty successful in getting reservations and making changes that way.

reservations@shadesofgreen.org

Or if you get really frantic you could send a fax to: (407) 824-3665

Good luck, I know its frustrating. It will be crazy tomorrow as they're "moving house" back to SOG from the Contemporary NGW, at least I think that's what I read.

From what I understand they are very short staffed. I believe they start taking calls at 8:30 am. I usually start dialing the number around 8:20 am and keep hitting redial until they pick up. You still have to wait, but eventually you will get a live voice.
Thank goodness they have a toll free #!!::MinnieMo

We were close to the 30 day mark and could not get through to cancel (opted for a WDW resort instead), so I faxed them all the info, my phone number, reservation number and dates. They called me in about an hour and said it was cancelled. :D

Wonderlandmom:

Do SoG get you a good rate at the WDW resort?

Wonderlandmom - I'm wondering what resort you were able to get & what your rate was also if you don't mind me asking?

We are staying the 1st week of April but have not received anything yet.

Sorry guys, it is for end of March and is either the FL resident or passholder rate ($104 for CBR). I think it was FL resident. I booked this awhile back, before cancelling SOG. They (SOG) did say overflow rates would be available if the resort is booked. I did not ask for any as it was SO hard to get in touch with them, I feared having to do it again should I need to modify anything! I figured the rates would not be much better anyway for this time of year. Our rate at SOG was $101 for March, so not a big difference.

We have got great overflow rates in the past. I will be curious also to see what/if others get great rates. We have stayed at WL and AKL for $119 in the past year. :D

PS-We did not receive a letter from SOG. They also told me it was only sent to those booked the first 5 days of March. Not sure if that has changed though.

I had overflow rates through SOG in December. They were slightly more than the AP and FL resident rates I had on the rest of our rooms. FL resident and AP rate for AKL standard room in value season was $121.50/night including tax but the SOG overflow rate was $138.76/night. Not much more, but it does add up if you stay several nights. We had 9 rooms but could only get 6 at FL resident (3 per license) so had to use SOG overflow for the rest.

I'm not sure how much the overflow rates vary, though, so it's still a good idea to check them all. Such a hassle, though...

As for getting through to SOG, every time I had to call them I waited on hold at least 30 minutes, but most of the time it was for 45 minutes! They have a very small staff over in the Contemporary....I'm just hoping it increases once they get in the new place!!

HTH with comparisons...

The staff at CR had nothing to do w/reservations. The resv department never left SoG. They kept their office on the first floor, just as I kept my office (internet resv) on the third. Security, accounting, food&beverage, the GM and a number of other people stayed over at SoG. The only ones who moved to CR were tickets and one or two supervisors to handle any problems that may have occurred w/rooms (and to answer questions on the addition/renovation). :)

FirstNo - any idea if the entire resort will be complete by April?

I'd like to know your opinion, too. I made some reservations today and she said by the "end of March". Any reality to that?

I just posted what little I found out in another thread, but bottom line is they are shooting for Mar 25. May happen. May not. More FedEx letters were mailed out today. :(

Thanks - I've been posting on every SoG thread I've seen so thanks for giving all the information on the other thread!!!
