Getting stuck on a ride

We got stuck on TOT last week. Then an announcement came on that the ride would restart but go into full drop immediately :scared1: They left the lights on during the entire ride & I swear we had alot of extra drops. They offerred to let us ride again - everyone declined.

We got stuck in the Golf Ball last Saturday for about 20 minutes. It was a dark and fairly quiet section, and I just leaned up against DH and took a power nap.

I haven't, but my DH and 2 DS's got stuck on Splash Mtn. twice in 1 ride. The first time was for 5-10 minutes, but the 2nd time was right at the top of the last drop and was for at least 30 minutes! I was down at the bottom to take pics of them and couldn't figure out where they'd gone!! :confused3

We also got stuck on Splash Mountain just before you come to the big drop, (so close yet so far) for about 1/2 hour. They said someone tryed to step off the ride while it was going so it automatically shut off. The worst part was listening to the laughing place song over and over and over. We had to climb off the ride when they came for us, they gave us a fast pass to use anywhere in the park.

In February, I got stuck on BTMRR on one of the small hills going up. We sat there before a CM came and helped us off the ride and we walked through the inside of it to get out. We got a fastpass to use whereever we wanted to in MK. That was apparently the 2nd time it had been out of use that day.

We went to WDW with the whole family one year (parents, sibs, kids, etc.). We got stuck on every ride my mother-in-law rode on that trip. First we were on POC and the ride stopped for about 1/2 hr. Next we were on the Haunted Mansion and that got stuck. We went to MGM and split up (mother-in-law and sis-in-law went to Star Tours and the rest of us went to Indiana Jones). While my mother-in-law was on Star Tours it broke down so she came to Indiana Jones and they had to stop the show due to technical problems. While on the monorail on the way back to the hotel the door (on our car only) would not open. We were stuck on the monorail for about 10 minutes. We finally got back to the Contemporary, got into the elevator and got stuck (my mother-in-law was with us again). During the trip we kept telling my mother-in-law that someone had the horns on her - joking of course. The next day we headed over to Epcot and stopped in Italy where my mother bought my mother-in-law a horn (for those of you who are not Italian - a horn is supposed to keep away evil spirits and curses). From that point on it was smooth sailing - no more break downs or getting stuck on rides. When we talk about that trip we still laugh about all of our mishaps. :tinker:

We were trying to fit in "just one more" ride at DL at the end of the day before our 1 yr old's exhaustion hit her.... of course that was just when we were stuck in the Pirates of the Carribbean ride. I thought we (and everyone else) were goners for sure with an impending meltdown. We were stuck right under the bridge with the pigs for about 40 minutes. DD ended up falling asleep and my husband and I had a ended up having a peaceful magical moment with all the pirates singing. ;)

We were stuck on Kali River Rapids. A ladder was brought and we had to climb out of the boat and take a back way out of the ride area. Got a FastPass for later, but gave them to another family since we were leaving.

We have been stuck on a few. Dinosaur (a few times), Peter Pan and It's a Small World. Never for very long though, probably 10 minutes was the longest.

One of the funniest was on Dinosaur. It was at the very end when you are going through the tunnel to get back to the future. The narrator is yelling "We're not going to make it, we aren't going to make it!" Just then the lights turned off and the ride shut down. A man from the back of the car yelled, "We didn't make it!" I have never laughed so hard on a ride before. :rotfl: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

FYI
Sometimes rides stop for Disabled guests.

Sometimes we (disabled guests) must wait because the Disabled guests must be pretty evenly spaced out before boarding an attraction so there is as little interruptions for the "regular able bodied guests" as possible. The CM's don't want to slow down or stop the ride too often during anyone's ride. Have you ever been on Buzz Lightyear, IASW, Spaceship Earth or the Haunted Mansion, when the ride slowed down or stopped momentary then started up again? The most likely reason it stopped was to enable a Disabled guest to board or disembark from the ride. So next time the ride stops momentary, sit back and enjoy the scenery. After all you are at Disney!

On my last trip, 2003, we weher at animal kingdom, and it was one of those rainy summer days, so we where waiting for our dinosaur fastpass time to come so me and my causin andrea decide that we wanted to ride Primeval Whirl, it was working even though it was raining just a little. My uncle, my aunt and my little cousin didnt wanted to ride bacuse of the rain. So there we go, we rode the car with two asian teenagers, so the ride starts very well, the non spining part of it was just fine and almost all of the spinning part and then suddenly it stops....
the next thing we see is my aunt and uncle laughing :rotfl2: at us and then the flash of their camera, jajajaja it was so embarrasing. then two cast members came to rescue us, they were nice but also very strict about always be watching or step an kept the hands on the banister. they gave us fastpasses to came back but we werent able to use them because we had to leave in about an hour.
all of our relatives really laughed at us when we told tham this story because Primeval Whirl is exactly the same crazy mouse track that one that is always on our local state fair here in yucatan mexico that we always ride, so it wasnt anything new to us jajajaja
here it is a pic to prove it. I'm the one with the blue poncho and my cousin is the one with the black sweather.

We got stuck for quite a while on PotC at the beginning where it says 'dead men tell no tales' it finally started up again but hearing that over and over was awful. Now we laugh about it and do our best impression of the voice.

We have never had to exit the ride but we have been stuck for a few minutes on IASW, SE & HM.

I love Expedition Everest but DS9 does not want to ride it again because he is afraid that we will be stopped under the YETI!

Our stories are pretty normal, but I'll tell them anyway. We got stuck 2 times on our trip to Disney. Once was on Peter Pan's Flight, at the pirate scene, and once was on Pirates of the Carribean, at the end. We were stuck on Pirates for 15 minutes, and Peter Pan for 5. We were in line for Pirates our last day, and after waiting in a 5 minute line for 30 minutes, we discovered 2 kids jumped out of their boat! Me, dd12 and another woman we were standing with just left, and came out to find Hook and Smee!

Sept '01 my family got stuck in Spaceship Earth for about 20 mins. Thankfully we got stuck by the tv that shows a clip from Snow White or my 22 month old dd would have gone stir-crazy!
June '04 the same dd (now 4 1/2) and I got stuck on BTMRR on an e-ticket night. We got stuck going up a hill in the rain by a very loud annoying sound. If the train would have stopped a foot later in the cave, we wouldn't have gotten soaked! A CM led us out thru a backway that eve. The same trip, my family got stuck towards the end of the boat ride in Mexico. We had to be led out of that one too.
We just got back last night after being in WDW for a week and didn't get stuck on anything this time.

We became stranded for 15 minutes on the World of Motion ride, years ago. It was at the part where the anamatronic man is trying to lift up the back end of his donkey, that was in the sitting position. The anamatronic man grunts and groans mightily as he is lifting. On a normal run of the ride, you might hear it once as you pass by. Stranded for 15 minutes and listening to that soundtrack over and over brought on some pretty hysterical laughter.

We were stuck beside this same animatronic repeatedly making the same funny noises, only we were stuck in POC at Disneyland! He was added at the end of the attraction where the boats go back up the lift hill, trying to lift up a big treasure chest (not sure if he'll still be there after the re-do). It was about 15 mins before we got going again, which was way better than the time we were stopped about 40 mins in the burning town scene. That time we were escorted out backstage and ended up re-entering about halfway down Main Street!

Got stuck on the old Imagination ride near the end of the ride for about 30 minutes. We were in a section with a huge group of people (several car-fulls) who definitely did not speak English. After hearing the song, "Immaaaaagination Immmmaaaagination..." over and over though, they were singing right along with the rest of us. Everyone seemed to be having a blast!

:dance3: I don't think these smilies have anything to do with what I posted, but I think they are funny and wanted to use them!

I have been stuck several times. Last trip though I had to explain to DH the whole stopping the ride for a wheelchair user thing because Spaceship Earth must have slowed down or stopped like 50 times in our various trips through it. (We ride it a lot, the kids love it) He thought for sure the ride was on its last leg since it kept "breaking."

The most notable getting stuck was on POC at DL when I was little. My mom and I were riding along and I really hated the boat/canon scene as I didn't like loud noises when I was little. That of course is where we got stuck. We were there for a looooonnnnggg time and finally they redirected our boat somehow and we floated out a little side exit where a CM greeted us and led us out of the ride. We were brought back to the line area and got to bypass those waiting and start over. As a kid I thought it was amazing seeing all the behind the scenes areas.

DD and I got stuck on Imagination several times when we went in 2002. We tried to ride it 4 or 5 times and only once did we make it all the way through without having to get off and even that time it stopped for several minutes. The music would slow to a halt and the lights would come on and DD would say, "Oh man, we are never going to fiinish this ride!!" The last time through it stopped and we thought for sure it was over, but it started up again and we made it!

My sister and I were seated in the first row of the log in Splash Mountain and Wishes was taking place. The log reached the VERY top of the major drop and just as we were about to plummit into the briar patch, it stopped. We had full front view of the fireworks and while we heard complaining from behind us (the people who saw nothing and were at a 45 degree angle lol, my sister and I "oohh'ed" and "awwee'ed". It was about 5 minutes later that the log unexpectedly dropped...talk about a "waker uper!" lol.

We got stuck on SPACESHIP EARTH last October. We were just at the part where you go backwards & the string of lights is above your head. The music there is o.k. so that was not annoying or anything. My DH & I were in the back & my 3 kids were in the front of the car.

A CM came on the loudspeaker & told everyone there was a malfunction & not to get out of the ride vehicle. We told the kids to stay put & ended up making jokes while we waited about 45 minutes. They kept getting on the speaker & asking us not get get up but wouldn't ya know it people started to just get up & climb down the stairs themselves. The lady in front of us with a young child was repremanded by a CM for doing so. There was about a 3 foot gap between the vehicle & the steps down which if you didn't see you could have fallen down into, especially a little kid.

Anyway, after the CM came to our car, we walked down all the way to the bottom with the lights on. Seems one of the cars was stuck at the bottom & wouldn't turn back around facing forwards.

Oh man we have gotten stuck a lot of times.

Splash Mountain we have gotten stuck about twice, I still remember what they say when you get stuck "Looks like Bre'er Fox and Bre'er Bear are causin' some trouble up ahead let's wait here..."

Tomorrow Land Transit Authority we had to get out and walk of after sitting there for a half hour.

Tower of Terror we got stuck right when the doors shut at the begining of the ride, we went up a little bit then we just sat there in the dark.

Pirates of the Carribean we got stuck in the end but hey, doesn't everybody?

Haunted Mansion we got stuck in Madame Leota's room forever and once we got stuck at the part where you go down that little hill backwards.

And on Space Mountain we didn't get stuck but the ride stopped for over an hour while my best friend and I were in line, finally the emergency lights came on and you could see the track and everything.

So I guess I must be bad luck or something :rolleyes1
