Getting Ship Shape for SSMC06

Congratulations Diana on meeting your exercise goal - before the end of the month :woohoo: Way to go!!!!

Oh sure, now that you have met your goal you think you can take the smilies away again :rotfl:

Actually Gail, I ate the smilies! I was so hungry and it was after 7pm, so I figured they wouldn't count since technically they aren't in the kitchen! :rotfl2:

Karen you are right, we are all so lucky to have such a great bunch of friends here!

Welcome aboard Karen! You will find it is so much nicer going through this with friends here. I didn't do any of the challenages for February either - actually, I was very overwhelmed when I saw them listing amounts like 600 and 750, but Mary and Diana proved that those amounts are possible! :worship: Actually I didn't make a commitment to anything other than trying to change my eating habits and adding in some exercising. I'm amazed that I was able to do both and been at it for 3 weeks. Next month I will make an exercise goal and a loss goal for myself.

We also have a membership at Lifetime - good thing my kids use it, cause I sure don't! I did buy the WATP DVD's, and staying inside to walk is so much nicer than going out in the cold temps!

Karen - I'm so glad you joined us here. Losing is definately easier when you have a buddy. Especially with WW online. What better buddies then my DIS friends.

There are some challenges going every month. So join or not join as you wish. I find it a challenge and it pushes me to want to do more. If I do my WATP tonight (which I plan) I'll have made my exercise goal for the month. Anything else I do (and I plan to continue) will just be even better. I will have to set a slightly higher goal for myself for next month!

I've come here to see how things are going for everyone. I need inspiration. You have given me that.

I've got a physical next week, and just know the blood work will be skewed. I've been celebrating too much since the January trip. I'm back with some better habits, but I do have a ways go go with the developemnt of the good habits.

Keep at it! You're melting!

I like the challenage that they have of walking to WDW. Kinda cute!

:cheer2: Go Mary on meeting your exercise goal tonight :cheer2:

I did it! Did the 2 mile WATP tonight so I have exceeded my exercise goal for the month! I feel great! Will definately have to aim higher next month!

:cool1: Way to go Mary! :cool1:

Congratulations on meeting your exercise goal with a week to spare!!!

Thanks guys! I've joined the Easter challenge as well. My goal is to lose 10 lbs (in 8 weeks) and be in ONEderland by Easter!

What is ONEderland? You know I have to know these things, I don't want to miss out on something fun :rotfl:

ONEderland means that you are no longer over 200. You make it into the 100s, vowing never to see 200 again!!!

Thanks for the explanation Amy! I'm amazed at all the challenages that are listed on this board. I still like the walk to WDW, but at the rate that I walk it will take me years to get there - see another reason we should move to Florida! :teeth:

Gail - Amy did do a good explanation. I did get to ONEderland back in December of '03 but sadly went back into the 200's over the next year. Hopefully I can stay with it this time.

I love the Walk to Disney challege too but only doing a mile or two a day it would take me forever. I like the shorter challenges.

I did the Easter Challenge. I think I put 12 by Easter. That's 1-2 lbs a week. I'm on week 3 and can't believe I'm still at it :teeth: I hear you on the shorter challenages - I'm still at the point of needing to see results regularly!

My worst - I am always craving a Snickers bar. Funny thing is before, I hardly ever ate a Snickers, so I don't know what the big deal is now. Maybe I should just eat one and get it over with. Last night we actually went to McDonalds - 1st time since Jan 29 - I wonder if McDonald's stock has dropped in the past 3 weeks :rotfl: I got the grilled chicken sandwich (8 points) and had 3 of Deanna's fries - I was bad and didn't count the fries. The sandwich was actually really good. I even splurged and got a diet coke - oh, I love McDonald's diet coke!

Gail, I'm really surprised all fast food stocks haven't plummetted since I've given up FF! Not to mention Coca-Cola, better you and me, we probably kept them both in business! :lmao: I'll have to look into this Easter Challenge thing. :scratchin

I'm having a hard time this week because there are no classes or babysitting at the Y with no school. They have some great "camp" like programs for the school kids there during the day, which is great for them, but I need to get back to class!! Monday I'll be back on the wagon, working hard. The doctor changed my diabetes medicine today and he said that should help me lose some pounds quicker. We'll see about that.....I'll believe it when my pants don't stay up!

Hopefully the medication change will help.

What a nice feeling - the pants not staying up :rotfl: It has taken me 3 weeks to get to the point of being able to breathe when I wear my jeans. :cool1:

Gail - have you tried the WW bars. Mini bars are 1 point and regular bars are 2 points. I love the chocolate/carmel ones. They really satisfy my crave for a candy bar after lunch.

Someone asked about the my treadmill set-up on the May thread so I took some pictures and thought I would share with all of you.

Wow Mary, that's amazing! If I had that set up, I'd be on the treadmill all day instead of dusting it every couple of weeks! :lmao:

Mary what a great set up! That's pretty cool! I can't wait to show this picture to John. Of course I don't have a treadmill, but maybe that would change once the basement is finished.

I will be going to the store today and will check out the WW bars. Thanks, carmel and chocolate might just hit the spot. My neighbor sent me over some cookies that she made. 6 of them = 1 point. They are small bite size but are really good.
