Getting really frustrated -- still haven't closed on BWV

We're in the waning stages of a resale purchase...to add to the other great info in this thread for resale purchasers, here is our timeline....

12/23/05 received contract docs
12/26/05 faxed signed contract to agent (3 days)
12/28/05 signed contract submitted to disney (2 days)
1/10/06 passed ROFR (13 days)
1/26/06 received closing docs from title company (16 days)
1/27/06 fedex'd signed closing docs back to title company (1 day)
2/9/06 title company closed - info sent to disney (13 days)
?????? in disney's system....can make first DVC ressie ! (--- days)

Total days so far - 53 and counting...so, our experience has been a 2-month "waiting" period from start to finish...we're almost "home" :thumbsup2

This thread is leading me to believe you do "pay a price" for getting a discounted price with resales.

Thanks PSU4glory-- that timeline really helps, as we are trying to also hit the finish line in time to get our APs at the DVC discount before our spring break trip. First day in the parks will be 3/16. Can you update your timeline when you get into the Disney system? Here is our timeline, by way of comparison:

1/14/06 received contract from TTS
1/16/06 faxed contract back to TTS
1/17/06 TTS submitted to Disney
1/30/06 received notification that we cleared ROFR
2/?/2006 receive closing docs from TCS? (agent there told me yesterday she hoped to have them to me by today, but nothing yet)

I can see that this is going to be tight, unfortunately. If it takes 2 weeks after we return the documents to close, we'll be right down to the wire. Do you know why it took so long to complete the close after you returned your documents to the closing agent? Was there a delay on the seller's end?

:confused3

there was a delay on the seller's end...it took them a week and a half to get their docs signed, notarized, and back to the title company. not sure if they were out of town or just dragging their feet... :confused3

i definitely will update my post when we get in the system. i am planning to call for the first time this friday (2/17), but do not expect to be "in" until early-mid next week...

hang in there! i know from experience the waiting can be FRUSTRATING....but it will all be worth it when you're kicking back and relaxing at "home" ! that's what i keep telling myself..... :)

Nancy Kersh, from TCS, called me yesterday morning and told me that she had just emailed me the closing dox. I didn't get them and after about thirty minutes, called her. She said she'd email them again. I received them, but they had the financials wrong (had us paying closing, when seller was to pay). Nancy was in a meeting but I left her a phone message and emailed her the problem. I waited until after 2 pm, but still hadn't gotten the corrected dox and wanted to mail everything for overnight delivery, so I called her again. She then emailed me the corrected dox. The signed closing papers and certified check was overnighted to her office. UPS confirmed delivery at noon today. YAY!
So, now what? I guess once the seller's dox get there the actual "closing" occurs. Will someone tell me what happens after that? Will I get notified that the closing was completed? Or will I just get a deed in the mail in the future? Do I wait ten days and then start calling Disney?
Thanks so much for everyone's support. It has helped me from going completely crazy!

yes...once the seller gets their docs signed and notarized, they'll have to get them back in. then TCS can close your deal and record the deed at the courthouse. at that point, they'll send everything over to disney and - according to most people with experience - you should be in the disney system w/in 10 days. some folks have said they've gotten in sooner - but the norm seems to be 10. we closed on 2/9. i plan to start calling disney on 2/17 (8 days / 6 business days) to check.

and from what i can gather, it will be several weeks before you'll receive your copy of the deed in the mail. this is just for your records, though - not relevant to getting into disney's system.
