I thought I would start a thread for all of us July-ers that need to get in shape or lose a few pounds before our trips.

We need to keep each other motivated and held accountable.

So who is with me?

I'll start:

Yesterday, I did P90X Yoga X and it was intense. Tonight I plan on hitting the gym to get an upper body workout in and then possibly run on the treadmill.

I'm in!! Yesterday I sat on the sofa and drank wine instead of going to the spin class I had planned to go to. Oops!!

I have a work night out tomorrow and Royal Wedding plans for Friday!! EEK!!

That said I am planning to go to Boot camp on Saturday! So will commit from Saturday and do anything I can before then! Will keep you all posted! We arrive at Disney 10 weeks on Sunday so that's my 10 weeks to get a stone off!!

mo x

Okay, I'm in.

I must put a disclaimer in though. Due to medical issues, my version of "getting in shape" is not going to be hard core.

I'd be happy if I can just get a walk in a couple of times per week.

My goal is to do all parks except EPCOT without an EVC. It would be nice to do EPCOT without the EVC too, but my feet swell. :(

UGH! anyone want to switch bodies? lol....

Thanks for starting the thread!

I am here! My name is Wendy(aka Tinkerbell 60). My goal is to lose 10 lbs by July 11th. I am 51 and "the change" hit me like a mack truck about 4 years ago. Before that I was one of those who could eat anything and everything and not gain a pound. Oh well, gone are those days. I look at food and it leeches onto my stomach and thighs.

I have been to the gym 3 times this week. I am doing a combination of cardio for 40 to 60 minutes ( tread mill/bike/ elliptical/walking) plus strengthening with machines and exercises on the mat. I just read the other day that you should do the aerobic AFTER the weight training....so I am trying that.

Thanks for starting this Lauren - I remember you and Miss Mo from the July 2010 board!

OK I'm here!!!
So yesterday I started on the 10-10-10 for 10. YEAH, I know...weired.
It's 10 squats, 10 pushups, 10 set ups - cycle as are as you can for 10 minutes. I think after a few weeks it jumps to 20-20-20 for 20, but I'm COMPLETELY out of shape....so we're sticking with this for a while.

DID I Mention I can't hardley move today! :/

I've dropped all soda for the past 2 weeks. Only water (well, 1 cup of Joe in the morning and 2 glasses of wine at night)
:cheer2:

I am in as well. We hit "the World" July 15 and I would love to be 10-15 pounds lighter. Not sure how attainable that is. I will be atw the gym 3 days/wk for cardio and a trainer.

I'm here, I'm on board and I'm subbing!

Thank you so very much for starting this thread. :thumbsup2

I would love to be 10 - 20lbs lighter before we leave on July 16th.

My problem is I don't belong to a gym (doesn't fit in the budget)

I do own Wii Fit and a couple of the Biggest Loser "games" just need the get my butt off the couch (and the DISboards) and dust it all off.

I have bowling tonight - - it's a sport, it's exercise right? :confused3

On the up side my DD4 :tinker: wanted to go for walks the last 2 nights. Since it was so nice out I agreed. Besides the exercise for me she calls it her "training" for all the walking she will be doing in Disney. Way to go baby!:rotfl:

Giving up soda really helps - I had been doing really well with that, then slipped a few weeks ago. I am now back to water. But, I know it makes a difference!

Walking is great - I read that if you walk 20 minutes after each meal it is an easy way to get your cardio in. I just belong to our Community Center fitness area.....much less expensive than a real gym. I have a Wii Fit too - the hula hoops are great!

:wave2: nice to "see" you again!

You too!

In as well! Amanda (aka Disneywatcher) wanting to loose 15 more lbs before July 10th (DH might be in the US from Afghanistan then) so I look svelt for DH and Svelt for Mickey. Plan is to go to the gym 4x a week with various classes (spin, zumba, water arerobics) as well as hitting up the cardio room in the gym. Being military has it's perks :thumbsup2 Today was my off day though as I was sore all over and needed to do some house cleaning. Downfalls for me are anything sweet or salty (chips and chocolate)

I have been working out on a regular (almost daily) basis for the past month or so. We turned our garage into a home gym with a pretty nice elliptical trainer (named Ellie), padded mats on the floor, a Wavemaster, free weights, and a TV/DVD player so I have no excuse not to exercise after work. Also, I recently switched jobs so my hour long commute is now 7-9 minutes, so no I'm too tired excuses. Now that the weather is nicer I can switch it up and go out on the trail that surrounds the post where we live. It wouldn't hurt to get some sun on my retina-searing pale legs before the World. But that's more of public service than a fitness goal.:rotfl:

I hear you - especially the chips!!!

Ok - we are all coming to your house to work out - lol:rotfl:
Sounds like a great set up. I put shorts on today but did not leave the house in them - was afraid of blinding someone....

I'm so glad to see so many of you join in. Tonight I made it to the gym and did exactly what I said I was going to do. Tomorrow I starting counting points again. Ideally I should lose about 12 lbs, but will be happy to just fit in my summer clothes.

Wendy, I remember you from last.

Wintershawl, walking is just as good as any other form of exercise. Keep it up.

For those that don't have a gym membership, there are tons of at home workout DVDs. I personally love Beachbody's stuff, which is why I became a coach. I also love Jillian Michael's workouts, she is one tough cookie.

Time for Survivor, talk to you guys later.

Good job on the gym......Do you do Weight Watchers? I have thought about it but not sure if I could stick with it........I love Jillian too!

Watching Survivor......luckily can still surf the Boards on the IPad!

Yes, I do WW, but I follow the old program. The one they had when I 1st started about 11-12 years ago. I tried the new program they just started for about a week, but hated it. But I know a lot of others that love the new program.

Did you know that Jeff tweets during the show? My DD and I love reading them. He gives some insight on what was going on at the time.

My hairdresser swears by the new program.

I normally do not follow twitter, but that sounds like fun. Maybe I will look into it!

Me! Me!!

As I said in the other thread, though, I'm limited because I can't do a lot of cardio. As in "no cardio that involves legs." I'm almost 6 weeks into an injury, with the "feeling better takes place around 6-7 weeks and full healing takes 3-6 months." It's VERY hard to lose weight when you can't move!

It's also very hard to diet when you're so frustrated that it hurts to drive, walk, sit, stand-up, lie down. Pie always sounds like a panacea! ;)

GRR for seperation anxiety!

Today was an aqua zumba class that I was looking forward to, so I took YDD to hourly care in the gym and then went to change into my swimsuit. I was 20 minutes into the class when I got a page to come to child care. I get there and apparently YDD has done nothing but cry and scream the entire time I was in there! I seriously need to work out but she's not letting me:mad: I went ahead and picked up the class schedule for May and it turns out this class (which I was enjoying btw) is now rescheduled for Friday nights yet another :headache: I work out in the mornings after my older 2 DD's go to school...so now I have to find someone to watch all 3 so I can go to this class.

Okay, I always hate to set goals because I am terrible at sticking to things.

But, I am going to post one. I'll be embarrassed if I can't at least attempt to reach this since I am posting it to the net. :)

I would like to lose at least 10 lbs. for our early July trip.

I definitely need to lose more than that... but that is a goal, and a start. :)

BTW, my real name is Amy, for those of you who like to be a little more "personal." :goodvibes

Amy, 10lbs between now and then is totally doable! I lost 10lbs in 2 months JUST by cutting my caloric intake to 1200 and walking maybe 2x a week for a total of 4 miles (I walked from my house to the gas station down the street to buy lottery tickets :rotfl: and then back home...total for down and back 2 miles).

You can do it!
