We will get off the ship in Miami and our flight is not until 6:45 p.m. out of FLL. How long can we stay on the ship. We will have plenty of time ! How long will we have to get our luggage ? We are using a shuttle service, we do not want to rent a car. Any ideas of what to do that day , besides sit at the airport . We will have our luggage after we have to get our luggage and leave the ship.
Thank you for any suggestions.

9:30 is supposed to be the cut-off. We just stayed until 9am and it was very luxurious.

Everyone needs to be off the ship by 9 am. They need to have the ship ready for the next group of cruisers. But the good news is the ship is ready when you board by 11:30 am.

We had a similar situation on our cruise (years ago, admittedly). Even with being among the last off the ship, we arrived at the airport by 10am, and since you can't check in more than 4 hours before your flight, we had to stay in the non-secure area of the airport and haul our luggage with us. Good times.

If you have no car, that's pretty much what you're stuck with unless you take a taxi somewhere. Then again, you have your luggage to deal with, so it's just easier to hang out at the airport.

We have hung around on the magic before until 10 am and there were still plenty of people around. Not sure if this has changed. We didn't need anything from anyone, we just walked along the pool deck with the 2 DDs and then looked around in different category room and even visited the Royal suite and the 1 and 2 bdrm suites. We have pictures of DD sitting at the piano with DH and me and the other DD sitting on the couch. It was really cool considering we could never afford to book that room but got a tour of it anyway!

If you have early breakfast, just be sure to tell your stateroom attendent that you are just going to the buffet the last day. You will need to be out of your stateroom at 8am, they quit serving at 830 but as long as you have your plate full by 830 you can take your time eating.

One option would be to rent a dayroom at the Hyatt (it's in the airport). We didn't do it and our plane left at 8.30pm. We just hung out at the airport with our lugguage. It would have been nice to have a room to relax and I think that they have a pool.

We rented a day room there and had a nap before our flight and got room service - but I think the OP is talking about Miami

You could check with hotels near the airport - most will offer some sort of day rate.

I find I am very tired from the late night on board and the early rushed morning leaving the ship so a nap is best for me.

Hi - there is a cool outdoor shopping / restaurant area near the port called BAYSIDE. You can eat, or have a few drinks outside and watch the boats. The only drawback is your luggage. If you can lug it w/o much issue this is a great way to spend the afternoon.

Good luck and have fun!

Oouups my mistake! I should have read OP better. Thank you for correcting me. I don't want to give terrible advice.

Not only is it about the port in Miami, but it's about the airport in Fort Lauderdale. :)

OP since you're taking a shuttle, you're really needing to know what things there are to do nearish the airport in Ft. L, right? Are you sure you don't want to just rent a car?

I know it was PC and MCO, but when we had this sort of wait, we hired a car for the day from near the port and returned it at the airport. It gave us somewhere to put our luggage while we played some adventure golf, had a relaxed lunch and did a bit of shopping before getting to the airport still in plenty of time to eat before we got on the plane.
