getting nervous about my choice of DVC resorts for our stay

I have us in a 2 BR at OKW for most of our visit, but out of curiosity I also have us in a 2 BR at SS for the last weekend.

After I just read the post on least favorite DVC resorts, I'm getting really nervous.

By the way, we're not owners, though we did look into it. But living overseas we couldn't possibly predict how often we'd be able to make use of it.

Also, we have stayed in a 2 BR at OKW twice before (about 4 years ago I think) and we loved it then.

I'm sure you'll love it now. All the DVC resorts are nice. People have a preference for different things. I like Dr. Pepper while others like Coke; there is nothing wrong with either. Enjoy your vacation.

If you liked OKW before, you will like it now too, because it really hasn't changed. They are constantly maintaining it, and now there are new more comfy sleep sofas in the living room. Folks like different things, and lots of people on this board think the best thing is being in the middle of the parks. I happen to like to relax when I am not at the parks, so OKW is perfect for me.

I am sure you will find SSR or OKW to be first class accommodations, with everything you've come to expect from an on-site stay at Disney.

As others have said, resort preferences are personal tastes. Some people are as passionate about their "home" resorts as other people are about their make and model of car, or brand of beer!

I'm confident you will have a wonderful stay at both resorts...enjoy!

Just keep in mind that SSR is the "Upstate New York" feel and OKW gives you the "tropical"feel. I did not think about that coming from MA. in March to SSR and missed my tropical OKW. Never again- give me palm trees!!!

Wait until you've experinced things to form your own opinion as it all comes down to personnal taste. It cracks me up constantly seeing the "what is your favorite resort" question since it comes down to personnal taste and is such a loaded question. You're sure to get an even amount of people who will be "for" as well as "against" no matter which resort you ask about...so go..enjoy! It's DVC at both resorts and neither will dissapoint

You already love OKW so no problem there!. We are OKW owners and stayed at SSR a couple of weeks ago. We were worried about it at the time because of the things said here. We really liked SSR. The resort is much like OKW parking wise, the rooms are a little smaller. The "deli" is has very good food, although limited. If you need an Olivia fix, it's 5 minutes away .

Don't worry about it, it is a beautiful resort. Don't let other peoples opinions sway you. Enjoy your vacation.

I think you'll like both. OKW and SSR are similiar in that they are both quiet Resorts not tied into any theme parks. SSR does provide the option of walking to DTD. Try them all and develop your own personal favorites. None of the DVC Resorts are bad by any means. They all offer something a little different.

we do like that feeling of quiet that you get at OKW...
and it will be fun to try out something new...
