Getting kicked out of DVC Online Booking after "hold" on reservation.

I've been trying to get a booking in a very hard to get room that usually fills within seconds of the 7 month window opening. Twice now I've gotten in at the second online reservations open up at 8AM - seen the room available, selected it, and been taken to the screen that tells me they are holding the reservation for 60 minutes for me that shows how your points will be used. When I click on continue I'm 'kicked out' of the system and put back on the page where I have to select my dates and location again - and of course once this happens the room is gone.

Is this a glitch anyone else has seen? Does anyone know of a resolution for this? It is very frustrating to have the system telling me they are now holding my room and then booting me out. If the room was just gone it seems that it should tell me that (as it normally does) before I get to the page telling me it is being held for me and showing me which points will be used. The fact that this has happened twice and I haven't yet been able to make a successful booking leads me to believe this is a somewhat common glitch?
 
I had that happen a number of times over a 2 day period in trying to get a Poly studio room- I believe what happens is they don't actually have the room- it may be that 2 people grab it at the same time or something but I was never successful at actually getting the room even though I had gotten to that point in the reservation and it took me back to the beginning as soon as I pushed to choose my contract to use.
 
I had that happen to me trying to book SSR just a little over a week ago. It was frustrating and I was not in danger of losing the room. It did eventually go through after the 4th or 5th time.
 

Happened to me several times just recently. Last month booking BLT 1 bedroom I actually got on hold and choose my points to use and clicked next and got the error screen. Since it was on hold for 20 minutes I waited and tried again after it was released. Thrill it worked and I snagged it again. Got my points assigned, click next, filled In My travelers names and clicked the agreement box and hit submit and again an error....nooooooooo! So waited 20 minutes and sadly this time it never came back. Been on a waitlist for 1 night at BLT 1 bedroom for over a month now. So disappointed. I did call MS but they couldn't find my almost completed reservation. Sounds like this is still happening. I told the cm about the issue, but they always make you feel like this only happened to just you and not their problem.
 
I've actually found another thread on this same problem on Page 6 of these forums. I called MS today and they made note of the threads about this and the problem to take to their IT. In the other thread everyone was theorizing that it was a browser issue, but it seemed that it was coming up across all browsers. I was using Safari today. I'm going to try it again tomorrow morning with Firefox. The dates I actually need are still a week out, but I want to work out the bugs before then and find something that works. I don't buy that the room isn't actually being held for me from two people hitting it at once. According to MS once I had reached that page the room was held for me and couldn't be simultaneously held by someone else.
 
And thank you everyone for the replies. I'm glad to know it isn't just me. I really hope they can get this fixed. It is one thing to not get a room booking - I can live with that - it is another to get the booking, have it in holding, and then have the website glitch and lose it on me.
 
I encourage anyone else that this happens to to call MS and refer to these threads. They need to know that this is clearly not a one time glitch and that something is wrong with their reservation system. You should be able to feel a sense of relief once the room is held for you - but you can't. You have to hold your breath through three more continues and know that at any point the system could glitch and lose the reservation.

YES!! I went through this for literally 2 full hours one day until it finally went through!!
 
In order to give the IT folks as much data as possible to track this down, it would be helpful to document any error messages that were displayed when the system kicked you back to the start page.
 
If others experienced what I did there are no error messages. It loops you back to the date selection page like that is what you asked it to do. I'm experiencing this at 8AM on a very high demand room that is gone very quickly each day at the 7 month mark - but this still shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't be told I have a hold on a room unless I have a hold on a room. If I don't have the room locked in I should be told "sorry there is no more availability." This is how a quality reservation system works. I never have this happen when buying hard to get tickets on ticketmaster. If someone is told they have a hold on a room and have 20 minutes to check out before it is released to someone else - they should feel comfortable that they aren't going to randomly lose that room at any given time because of a website glitch. Something is clearly wrong and it can be fixed, but unless they get enough complaints they may assume it is working "well enough" and ignore it.
 
Others that have had problems - what browsers have you experienced this on? I was using Safari the last two times and I'm going to do another test run on Firefox in the morning. This was on a Mac. I'm interested to know if this glitch has any specific connection to certain browsers or operating systems?
 
Yup... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: Most recently when trying for a BCV studio the first weekend of F&W. I had it... and then I didnt. :furious:
 
If you're on a Mac, you might want to make sure everything is updated. Go into FireFox, click on About, and make sure it is up to date. Click on the Apple icon, click on software update, and make sure it is up to date. Let it update iTunes, for example, even though you don't need iTunes to go to the dvc member website. It seems to me that the computer slows down and doesn't work as well if anything is outdated.
 
Yes, have had it happen frequently since an upgrade that was done by DVC a couple of months ago. What I have discovered is that it still keeps a lock on your room - what I don't know is if it's something MS could possibly retrieve or not. But it will "unlock" after 20 minutes and I have been able to start again - sometimes to get booted again but mostly I've had success.

There are no error messages. It just takes you back to the booking page.
 
Like KAT4DISNEY, I have also had it happen frequently since DVC did their upgrade a couple months ago. It is frustrating beyond words. I can look online, hold online, but not book online. Member Services always says they have not had any reports, and what can I do for you. (Translate--we don't care, now do you want to book now or not.) I don't think they inform IT at all. Strangely, sometimes when I am trying to make it work, on a room I don't really want or care about, it goes through. Then I cancel and try on the room I DO want, no go again. Always cycles back to pick your date and resort. It happens on both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I usually use the Google Chrome, because I feel like it is more secure, but don't know if that is correct.
I have tried making sure "everything is up to date", but it keeps happening. There isn't a word strong enough for how frustrating it is. And then a 25-35 minute hold for member services, the room of course is gone.
