Getting in without ADRs?

Last minute trip planned so just making ADRs today for next week (9th-13th). Boma, our absolute favorite restaurant, is not available for dinner the entire time! (And to think the first few years we could walk in any time we wanted!)

We made alternate plans for Jiko (which we do also love) but really had our heart set on Boma this time. Is it ever possible to get seated without an ADR? I figure since we'll be at AKL anyway, we might as well see if they happen to have any openings . . .

Any thoughts?

I've never been to Boma but I was in Disney last week and saw someone walk up to CRT and get in right away...mind you it was early (4:30) but they managed. Also saw people walk up to Chefs de France (their wait was a bit longer but still).

I would give it a try, you just never know! In August, during FD, we stopped by Le Celliar just as the dinner hour had begun with no ADR and they were able to seat the six of us. I had been calling for months to get an ADR, it doesn't hurt to ask.

If I were going to try to walk up to any restaurant I would go right when they opened for dinner - or just before closing at breakfast. We have friends who live local and they say they have gotten into Boma a few times by going at dinner opening

i had no problem last august just had to wait about 10 minutes ! its worth a try !:thumbsup2

When we were there on Aug and the person in fron of me was told a 2 to 2 1/2 hr wait. So maybe if you go at 5 give your name you can get in by 7 -730 IF you want to really want to go & willing to do that.

My friends who are local have never waited more than 20 mins when they go at opening (around 5:00) so I doubt it will be 2 and a half hours

Don't doubt it cause I seen it for myself. But like I said that was the last week in Aug.

I don't doubt that you saw it once, what I doubt is that is happens all the time because I've had the opposite reported to me much more frequently.
