Getting healthier with Dr. Phil?

Hi everyone,
here in the Netherlands Dr. Phils dietingbook just came out, in Dutch translation ofcourse. I have studied it and I am kind of living my life like he writes for about three weeks now. And my favorite pair of jeans is getting larger allready:D
Who else at this forum follows Dr.Phils advices?
 
i'm listening to the audiobook of the UWS -- and it has some things that have really struck me. I plan to listen over and over again. I really believe in this book and tell anyone that will listen to me about it. for me it's very realistic and very much the lifestyle, and no beating around the bush.

I sure agree with you about some things Dr. Phil mentions, it's so simple I feel stupid that I didn't understand it before.
 
Dr. Phil people yeah! I started the Dr. Phil WLC at Gold's Gym, it runs for 16 weeks. This is week 1. We are using the chart in the book to build exercise and have meetings every Friday that includes an aerobics session. So far so good.

A thought from the book that has really motivated me is...

When we choose the behaviors, we also choose the consequences.

The book is a slow read for me since you must do the exercises as you go. But I have really had some "get real" moments!
I chose this program because I didn't want a "Diet" I wanted a lifestyle change that I could stick with forever.

Good luck, maybe we can stick together and encourage one another!

Our church is sponsering a group called Weigh to Go....we are using Dr Phils book as a basis for the lifestyle changes and a healthier life for all of us. I do follow the low carb diet as it works for me, but am being more sensible about eating the veggies/fruit and some milks too. I needed more variety than just plan old Atkins was offering. I like the way he makes you think about why you eat? and when you eat? and how you look at yourself.....I have a very poor opinion of my own body and hadn't realized it until I did one of his little tests. I eat when I am alone, bored or watching tv. So now if I want to snack I do not feel guilty I just make a better choice. Its hard but so far our group of 20 lost a total of 48 pounds in one week. Looking forward to a good lifestyle change and the freedom from yo yo dieting.
