I think I saw someone posted a product that is really good for cleaning up the gook that gets baked on to pan bottoms. I think I remember a purple bottle in the picture that was posted.

Any ideas?

On the inside or outside of the pan? It sounds like the outside bottom? I use a spray foam cleaner from Dawn. Spray it and let it sit 15-20 minutes and the gook comes off pretty easy.

:scratchin hmmm, you mean all that cruddy bakeware I threw out could have been cleaned? Ah well....what's money? :guilty:

Can't get any simplier than this. I put 2 tiny drops of dish detergent in about one inch of water and put the skillet back on the burner on low. Let it heat up and simmer so to speak with the lid on. Then take your spatula and all the gunk will scrap off easily. HTH.

Yep! Thanks!

I use this product. It's also really good at cleaning ceramic stove tops (the stuff that gets "baked" on).

the dawn really works. I was going to get new bake ware. I just saved centuries old crusty pans with this stuff.
