Getting from POR to TL early

My family is doing the surfing lesson at TL during our August trip. Since we need to be at TL at 5:45am, i know we will have to take a cab, my questions are 1) How do we get one that early? 2) approximate cost?

POR and TL are not that far from one another and traffic should be light that early in the morning. You're probably looking at a $10 fare (+/-).

When we did the surf lessons, we asked the bell services guys at our hotel (I think we were at POFQ) the day before. They said that there was usually a cab in the vicinity 24/7, but that we should probably call to reserve one. They gave us a phone number and we called to make sure we'd have a cab. (I can't remember what company.) It took less than 10 minutes to get to TL.

Have fun with the lessons. I was the designated photo taker and it was a lot of fun to just watch. The instructors are great.
