Getting from POP to HRH?

We are a family of 5, staying at POP at WDW for 5 days, then going to HRH for 3 days. We will not have a car. Any suggestions for town car service, taxi, or other transportation to get us and our luggage from POP to HRH? We will only be traveling with carry-ons, so won't have large suitcases, but we will still have alot of stuff.

I am interest in this to because we will be doing the opposite, I need transportion from universal hotels to disney hotels.

Last year there were 6 of us and we took a van cab. Everything fit no problem.

If you are going from Pop to Universal you can catch a cab. At the Loews hotels now at Universal, they just have Town Cars and Escalades. If you want a cab, you'll have to have them call for one. We took an Escalade from the PBH to the airport and all luggage fit.

The main taxi company here is Mears. You can go to their website to price out your trip, or call them at 1-866-435-5686.

We found it was about 35 from Disney to Universal and about 50 including tip from Universal to the airport.

We did a car rental via Hertz (AAA rate) and it is cheaper than a cab going from the airport to Universal. You can return the car to the Hertz counter at PBH, HRH, or RPR lobby. Wait until it gets very close to your trip. The car rental rates are usually cheaper the closer you get. We rented a car from HRH to drive to Disney for MNSSHP and it cost us $32 including tax.

arrange it before you leave home so that will be one less thing to deal with while on vacation.

i prefer to use private car service.
since i do a 3 leg trip, the moving from the motherland to the darkside hotel is only $40.

if you rent a car, you would need to park for parking at the hotel at UO.


you could check out private car service sites and compare the prices against mears costs.

i prefer direct pick up from my disney resort, help with the luggage and go directly to the UO resort.
I pick my time and the car is there for me prior to my scheduled time.

i have used, over the past 12 years, about 6 different companies.
the ones that i only use now i can't list here as they are on the banned list on the Disboards.
don't want to get in trouble for trying to list them.

out of the ones that i can list, i would say that Murray Hill is good.
it is a family run business for many years.

i switched from them as i found a cheaper company for a 3 leg trip.

there are some sites that have sponsors or a connection to transportation companies.

MouseForLess is a site i read and post on.
some of their sponsors give a $10 discount to subscribers for using their company.
Allears and Mousesavers also have sponsors for the transportation companies they advertise for.

Dreams Unlimited, a Dis sponsor, has transportation services too.
