We are very overwhelmed with everything! We are planning on having a 9:00 a.m reservation at Park fare. How do we get from All Star Movies to that?

Also within Magic Kingdom--What is available to get from one end of it to the other and do you have to pay for it? Are they on a schedule, or readily available? I've looked all over the board and I know these are on here, but can't seem to find them.

1. Bus to the magic kingdom and monrail or boat to GF.

2. :confused3 The train goes around the park and there are three stations, one at the front on Main street, one in Frontierland. otherwise you walk.

3. no

4. it runs every 20 minutes or so but shuts down during a parade and right before the fireworks.

about how long does it take to get from resort to one of the kingdoms by bus/rail? How far is the walk from one end of the MK to the other? Thank you for your reply!

You should always allow at least an hour to get from one place to another while relying on Disney transportation. For resort to resort, it might be better to allow 90 minutes. Once you are actually on the bus/boat/monorail, the trip is rather quick, but you can wait 20 minutes or longer for a bus to arrive.

The MK is laid out with a hub and spoke design. How long it takes to walk it depends on who is doing the walking. You can pretty easily walk 8 or more miles during a day touring the parks.

Some clarification please. Are you talking about just Magic Kingdom proper, or are you classifying all of WDW into MK???
There are several ways of arriving at MK...car (to TTTC and then ferry or monorail to MK gates), boat from WL/FtW, Polynesian, GF. Monorail from CR, Polynesian, GF. Or bus from all other resorts.
You will be arriving via the bus from AllStar Movies. It will drop you off about a mins walk from the front entrance to MK.
If you were to walk from the front of MK...Main St area, to the rear of MK....down by the TeaCups, it would take about 15 mins. From the Main St train station to BTMRR??? About 15 mins.
You can take the train..it will stop by Splash Mt and then again in the old ToonTown area, and then the main station at the entrance to Main ST/MK.

If it were me, I would take a cab. It will cost a few dollars, but it will be much faster, and not require you to get up quite so early.

Except where buses, etc. are shared between resorts, Disney transportation between two resorts requires making a connection. In a few cases one of the legs (not including from All Star Movies to 1910 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian resort) can be done on foot (no pun intended).

You can walk between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT along paths provided. From turnstiles to turnstiles it's something like one mile. Between the other circles walking is not practical; it is several miles including across grassy areas and scrub and brush where poisonous snakes may lurk.

I'm now even in more agreement with other posters that I'm not sure what you mean by the Magic Kingdom and "other kingdoms". There are not other kingdoms.

While I was unsure of what she meant by "other kingdoms" as well, to be fair, there is the Animal KINGDOM.

To the OP....not sure if you are aware or not...so here goes. There are 4 different parks, within WDW. MK, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Many people, heading down for their first stay, think that the MK is WDW.
There are various types of transportation to and from the various parks. It all depends on where you are starting from.
If you are at AllStar Movies, you will take buses to all the various parks. To get to the GF and eat at 1900 Park Fare, you will go to MK and then either take the monorail over to the GF or you can take the small boat that runs between the MK, GF and the Polynesian.
Once you are inside the MK, you can take the steam train around the perimeter of the park...as I said earlier, it makes several stops along the way. Other than that, you pretty much have to walk. There is a horse drawn trolley, but it does down Main St and back..not much further.

If you have any other questions..please....feel free to just ask away. And welcome to the Transportation board and the DIS!!!

Hello angelarney and welcome!

I would recommend picking up a good guide book about Disney World. Many folks like The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, or The Passporter, or Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World. Even if you pick up a slightly older one at the library or bookstore, you will find most of what you need.

Take some time to read it and absorb the lay of the land there. You are going to an area the size of a small city. There are theme parks, resorts and shopping areas that are connected by highways. It can take up to 20 minutes of driving to get from one end to the other, depending on the lights and traffic.

At All Star Movies, you are at the "bottom" of Disney World. Magic Kingdom is at the "top". In between is everything else.

Just trying to figure out the trip from reading the DIS or the Disney World website is very difficult. Taking your time in a book is highly recommended.

Good luck.

thank you for your replies! When I said "kingdoms" i meant from one park to another. I have yet to learn all of the terminology:)

I think we have decided to take a cab from our resort to Park Fare. Sounds much quicker!

I will try to pick up Disney guide-That does sound helpful!
Thanks!
