We want to spend 1 day at IOA on are upcoming trip. We will have a 1 year old with us so I was hoping there was some sort of bus or shuttle where we didn't need a carseat. I didn't really want to get a rental car for 11 days when we only need it one day. I wish a rental car company would drop off the car and pick it upthanks

There is a sticky at the top of this board with information on getting to universal and islands of adventure. It has everything you. Need to know. I used the service provided by Mears and it worked great.

Some of the resorts are really close to rental agencies. SSR, you can walk over to I think the Lake Buena Vista Resort and there is a rental car agency there. I believe Shades of Green has Hertz on their property.

The car companies on site (over at the Car Center, near the Magic Kingdom) will pick you up at your hotel. I think its National and Alamo. Just call them to find out details;

National
1000 Car Care Drive
Orlando, FL 32830
(407)824-3470

Alamo
1000 Car Care Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
(888) 826-6893 (cant find the local office's number)

There's also a National/Alamo rental desk at the Dolphin.

Thank you so much! I had no idea they had rental cars right on property. I guess I would just have to get an inexpensive carseat and check it on the plane.

There is only one actually 'onsite'....that is at the Dolphin. If you rent from a company in DTD, and they aren't 'in' DTD, they are in offsite resorts, some will come and pick you up and take you to the rental company office.
In all reality? You are better off just using Mears. No car seat needed, it's inexpensive, and reliable. And if you do rent a car? You will have to pay for parking at US/IoA..so another $15 or so.

Mears will come to your resort, pick you up and drop you at the lower level of parking at US/IoA. You can give them the time you want to be picked up. Then, you can set up your return time, when you book, or you can call them about 3 hrs prior to the time you are ready to leave US/IoA and they will give you the time to return to the bus area.
