Hi,

We are having a late dinner 9:10 at the California Grill in early March. The Magic Kingdom closes at 8:00. What is the best way to get to the Wilderness Lodge at around 10:30 that evening?

Thanks!!

Few ideas:

1.Check if there is another Park that has late hours that night and then take a bus to that park and then to your resort.

2. Take the bus from there to Downtown Disney then take the bus from their to your resort.

3. Fast and expensive - Cab

I think the boat between the CR and WL runs to 11pm. But, even if it doesn't, a taxi would be a MUCH better option than taking two busses (it would take approx 1-1.5 hours). A taxi would take five minutes (providing he doesn't give you the grand tour) and cost no more than $10+tip.

It's less than 2 miles from CR to WL, door to door. A taxi will be approx $5-$8 tops incl tip and will take about 5 minutes. Not that expensive.

Or if you're up for a couple of bus rides:
There are a hand full of nights in March that parks will be open at that time,
EPCOT is open till midnight on Fridays 3/4, 3/11, 3/18 & 3/25 and DHS till 11:30pm on Monday 3/21. (but you did say early march so you can eliminate several of those) That's it for parks open, so if you're dining one of those nights you can bus there, transfer to WL bus. Total time approx 1 hour maybe more or less depending on waiting times.

or

Bus to DTD and transfer to WL bus. Total time approx 90 min., maybe less if you hit the buses just right.

You might also check to see if the boats are still running at that time of night.

Whichever you choose enjoy your evening.

Cab is the best way, but if you decide to bus it to DTD, this is what I would do. At that late hour, I'd be surprised if there are many people going to DTD. When the DTD bus stops, tell the driver in your most pleasant voice, that you really need to get to the WL. If you have a little one, have them stand in front of you with the sad eye look. In most cases because the bus is going right by the WL, and if it's not inconviencing anyone, 9 times out of 10 they'll do it. I would. It's called making the magic.

The direct boat runs till 11pm!!!!

You may have created by army of monsters, pleading with bus drivers to do them favors.:rotfl:
Your colleagues won't be too thrilled with you.:rolleyes::sad2: :surfweb:

Thanks so much!! We will try to take the boat, didn't even realize there was a boat from the CR to WL :rolleyes1 If not, we will probably take a cab and avoid the DTD bus option.

Just the opposite. It's quite common during early mornings and later at night for bus drivers to request to go of route and do something special for guests. It's encouraged and requests are usually approved. As long as no one is put out. When the request to go off route is approved, the bus dispatcher will say, "make the magic", drivers enjoy doing it. I try to do it whenever I can. It makes the job fun.
