Getting from Cali Grill back to our resort after Wishes

So we have an 8:00 ADR for our anniversary at the CG, and we will watch wishes from there, but I just got to thinking, how hard will it be to get from the Contempory back to the Magic Kingdom and then to our tranportation bus? We will be staying at either the Shades of Green, Coronado Springs, OR POP, not totally for sure yet, but probably Shades of Green. Will it be hard?

Also does the monorail go to the Contemporary? If so does it run only to the magic kingdom, or could I ride the monorail from there to the Poly (which has a walking path to the Shades of Green).

Yes,there is an excellent chance you will be stranded at CG for the night.JUST KIDDING! All you got to do is take the elevator down from CG,hop on the Monorail,and then get off at the second stop which will be the Polynesian Resort and then walk to Shades of Green.If you stay at Pop Century or Coronado Springs just take the short walk from the Contemporary Resort over to Magic Kingdom and take a bus from there. The Shades of Green bus goes to the Ticket and Transportation Center-not the Magic Kingdom bus depot.The Resort Monorail goes from the Contemporary Resort to the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Polynesian Resort to the Grand Floridian Resort to the Magic Kingdom and back to the Contemporary Resort.There is also an Express Monorail that only makes stops at the Ticket and Transportation Center and Magic Kingdom.Have a great trip and a Happy Anniversary!

Thanks so much for that info! Exactly what I wanted to hear, that I could just take the monorail pretty much back to my resort, if we stay at the Shades of Green, which I think we probably will end up there.

If it is your anniversary and you are having a nice night- one less thing to worry about (esp if you are enjying the wonderful wine CG has to offer) is getting back. I would suggest taking a cab if you are staying at Shades. We have taken cabs from CR to SOG plenty of times and the most expensive it ever was was 10 dollars. I know some people might consider that wasteful if there is free transportation- but I think it is money very well spent. Enjoy your meal!
