Getting food to go?

I know some restaurants are officially offering to go ordering. BUT, for restaurants that aren’t officially doing that, can I make an ADR, sit at my table, order my food, and ask for it in a to go box (or get it plated as usual and ask for a to go box and I can box it up myself)? Skipper Canteen and HBD are two places in particular that I’d like to do this.

Not sure, but I don't see any harm in trying that. Please still tip the server as if they had served you for the whole meal.

Also - do realize that you might be careful what you order as some is harder to pack to-go.....

Oh, FOR SURE on the tipping. I’m a chronic overtipper anyway! It actually really bothers me that, from reports I’ve read, you aren’t able to tip at restaurants that offer the mobile to-go option.

Or anyone else done it recently?

Heading down over Spring Break and hearing reports of tough times with mobile orders, but personally not yet comfortable eating inside yet.

I'm happy to make an ADR, ask for to go boxes when we order, tip server as if we ate in the restaurant, then go sit outside somewhere to eat. (Or take back to our room)
