Getting DVC member discount on MagicBand before trip?

Since in their infinite wisdom, Disney has decided they need that extra $10 from pre-sale MagicBands to keep the parks open and feed the executives, I'm looking for deals. Is there any way to use my DVC member discount on a new MagicBand+ before my upcoming April trip, or is the only way in-person at an on-site (or Disney Springs) store? We don't live anywhere near a Disney property or a Disney store. I wanted to use it as part of a surprise for my daughter. I'm aware I can buy one on eBay, etc.

Not sure about exactly what you're looking for, but i'd be very hesitant to buy a MB on eBay. You're trusting that the MB hasn't been linked, which would make it useless for you to use, as they're not transferable.

Yes that's it. I think there's also free shipping on orders over $85 if you can use both codes.

Although they aren't Discounted, remember that you can purchase magic bands thru the MDE App for upcoming trips, IF they are listed on the reservations. These should have a custom name on the back, and thet do have some selections not showing on the DisneyStore site.

Is there a reason you'd like it before the trip? You can buy one at your resort when you arrive and just link it right away. Aside from that you would have to wait for a promo code that works on Magic Bands on ShopDisney.

I don’t understand why they got rid of their nominal discount on Magic bands pre ordered. The Magic bands are way overpriced for what they are. It’s just grubby. Just a few years ago you could get the bands free. It really was fun receiving the magic bands early for a trip. Dh and I still haven’t purchased MB + for ourselves. We got them for the kids but they are unimpressed with them for the most part. Like they’re not particularly excited about them. I have to remind them, don’t you want to bring your MB? And the charging mechanism is ridiculous.

Older magic bands still work I did buy a MB+, but still often just use an old one anyway. They just won't work on the places that need to pick up a radio signal . Tap stations work fine.

DW and I have still never bought MB+ for ourselves. We still use our old MB (not +). They still work for any contact use - turnstiles, Photopass with a photographer, LL, etc. We did buy our kid a MB+ but have only seen it light-up once, because almost every time we go she forgets to charge it anyway.
