Getting Dropped off at the Port?

We are traveling on our first cruise in Jan 2006 and would like to know what time you can get dropped off at the port? In reading the posts, it sounds like the shuttle service will get there to late to get on the ship early. I was planning on having my husband drop off the family early , go back to the hotel and take the shuttle or taxi.

The port opens to incoming traffic at 10, the terminal opens at 10:30 for check in. These times are approximate, and assume that the disembarkation of the previous cruise went smoothly. The ship opens for boarding between 11:30 and noon. You can then go to lunch, swim, etc.

Are you leaving a car at the hotel? If you are renting a car, you can drop it off near the port and the rental place will take husband back to the port. You can reverse the process on the return.

Your husband will need his photo ID to get into the port area. You can essentially check in for him, but the CM will hold his KTTW until he returns and presents his photo ID at the counter.

Only one person in the family has to wait in line for the KTTW cards. SO he can drop you and the family off and then take the shuttle.

Why are you having him do this though? Is the shuttle real late or something? We are staying at the Rad and our shuttle time is at 10:00 am. We always stay at the Rad and get a shuttle ressie around 10:30.

Hmmm...this is news I wasn't aware of. We are staying at the Rad on Nov 18th (Friday before the Turkey day cruise). I just figured there were shuttle vans running back and forth to the port.

Should I call the Rad and make a reservation?

If you are staying at the Rad and have current reservations yes you can make a ressie for the shuttle. The earliest is at 10:00. The service is free to ANYONE who stays there. You do NOT have to do a cruise package room.
