Hi!

We are cruising early 2017. I am trying to figure out the best way to get around. We are staying at WDW the weekend before. I was going to rent a car at MCO then return it to the Port before we leave. That way we could have the freedom to move around a bit. I know between Magical Express, resort transportation and the transportation to the port that Disney is great at getting you places. However, we'd love to visit the DUT welcome center and maybe explore Orlando a bit our first night.

What have others done? Should I just take Magical Express and then Uber everywhere?

We stay at WDW before and after. We get the ME from the airport to WDW then rent a car the next day ( get in late ) from the Alamo car depot. They pick you up from your resort and take you to the Alamo car centre by MK. Then we drop the car at the Port get the Alamo shuttle to the ship. Pick up another car when we get off the ship and drive back to WDW and then drove that to the airport when we leave. But we stay longer than a weekend before the cruise so you might want to pick your car up from the airport.

Great! I didn't think about Alamo. We had a real bad experience with Hertz a couple years ago at MCO. I'd like to try to avoid them.
