Getting around without a carseat (for 5 yr old)

We are flying to MCO and bringing a carseat for our 5 year old on the plane. We can use this carseat when we Uber from MCO to our hotel, Swan Reserve.

But what is the best way to get around once we are on property? We plan on going to MK, AK, HS, Epcot, Wilderness Lodge, and Disney Springs. I know getting an Uber with carseat is one option. Are there any other feasible options, in case the Uber doesn't work out? I've read that Minnie Van will not pick up at Swan Reserve.

Thanks!

I'd stick with using the bus transport at swan reserve as the best way to get around property. The bus will take you to AK and MK (TTC), and of course walking/taking the boat to HS/Epcot from your hotel. The walk to the boats is only about 5 min from SR. Correct, minnie vans don't pick up at the SR but you can walk across the street, passed the Swan/Dolphin to YC/BC/BW and pick up a minnie van there instead, it's about a 7-10 min walk depending on how fast you go. We stick to mostly bus transport on and off property so we don't have to drive and we usually only book a ride share if there's a reason we need to be some where by a certain time or it's the end of the day and we're tired of waiting for the bus.

You might look at getting a mifold (or other portable booster seat) if your kiddo is the right size. It would a least expand your options in terms of Ubers since you would mostly be going short distances.

We got a BubbleBum. It’s an inflatable booster seat that can just clip on to your bag/purse/whatever when not in use.

I'm not sure an Uber with a car seat included will always be available when you want one. There are only a limited number of those. You can look at the Uber app while you're home to check out the situation - choose pick up and drop off locations that you would want (Swan Reserve to Wilderness Lodge, for example).

Also, are you absolutely sure about Disney Springs? If you've been there before, ignore this. If you haven't been there before, make sure you are familiar with what's there. It always seems like a really long ride to get there and back from the Epcot resort area. The stores might not have anything that interests you; most of them are not Disney-oriented. There are restaurants, but you want to make sure they would be worth the extra effort for your family (as opposed to the numerous restaurants in the Epcot resort area).

If you want to eat at Wilderness Lodge, you could try to do it on a Magic Kingdom day, if that works in your schedule. That way you could take the boat or bus between Wilderness Lodge and MK. The bus ride is short. The boat ride is longer and the boats come less frequently than the bus.

Here's the Disney Springs website:

make sure you are using a carseat not a booster seat as you can use a carseat on the plane but you can not use a booster seat on the plane. there is a difference
