Getting around without a car

My parents and I have just booked our fourth visit to the world in November 2016.

This time we want to be more adventurous and see some other attractions whilst we're over there. Only problem is neither me or my dad are keen on attempting to drive in Florida, and also my mum is disabled, she can walk short distances, but relies heavily on a wheelchair.

We would like to try and get to Universal/IOA, Kennedy Space Center and see Ice at Gaylord Palms if possible.

What's the easiest way to get to these locations without a car?

You can book tickets to the Kennedy Space Center which include transportation.
For three of you, particularly with a disabled member of your party, you'll need to look at taxis to get to Gaylord Palms and Universal. It won't be cheap. I'm someone who usually uses the public bus service - but it would be too time consuming for the locations you want to visit. I'm assuming you're staying in/near WDW.
You would be much better off renting a car. Orlando is easy to navigate and driving in the US is much easier than driving in the UK.

Book your Universal days on site there. Get a guided tour trip to Kennedy with transport. Get a taxi to Gaylord Palms. I know you say you've already booked (I am assuming on site at WDW), but I advise you to suffer the minor financial blow for changing your dates and start or end you stay at Universal. The walk from the HRH to to parks is two or five minutes. Perfectly easy wheelchair push. None of the hotels are far from the parks it's not like Disney but HRH is the nearest. Use DME at one end of your trip and a taxi to or from Universal at the other end of the trip. Even without mobility issues I wouldn't personally use the buses. Not because it isn't easy and can't be done but because it does add hours to your days overall and that's not a holiday for me.

I should have said, we're staying on site at Caribbean Beach for the two weeks we're there.

Are there any recommended websites to book Kennedy/Universal trips with transportation?

Dreams Unlimited sell Universal tickets that include transportation - you might be best emailing but I guess they handle wheelchairs.

I would personally look at getting a car though. Orlando is easy to drive around and the trip to Kennedy is just basically one road! I love driving out there as its so much better than here.

We usually do Universal and WDW and never have a car! We do Magical Express from the airport, stay onsite at both Universal and WDW and if we want to go to a shopping mall then we take a taxi. I actually like to drive but tend to just relax on holiday and don't bother. I definitely wouldn't take the service buses. On our very early trips to the world we attempted this and it added hours to some of our visits - never again!
