Getting apps from itunes to an ipod

DS had an Ipod Touch, which but the dust yesterday. He had a lot of apps on it. It was replaced under warranty, but no he has no apps. The laptop he used for his itunes account is not working(bad luck kid) so he downloaded itunes to my laptop. We can go in his account under "recent purchases" and see all his apps. Is there a way we can get those to his new Ipod instead of having to rebuy them?
