Although I am really glad that all you guys are getting good deals on airfare and I am getting really irritated that I can not find anything good leaving from Raleigh. I just don't want to pay $200+ RT. Sorry just venting.

:sad2:

When are you leaving? We fly RDU-MCO 3-4X/year and have always gotten great fares with SW. :thumbsup2
Do you have Ding installed on your computer? Last weekend, the fares for RDU-MCO (Dings) were $25/each way for May travel. :yay:
True, with SW, you have to be more proactive: checking often for any "internet specials" and listening for those Dings. But no other airline offers these kinds of deals PLUS no penalties for changing, AND credits you for future travel, too. :cheer2:
In the past, we've used United, American, and Delta to MCO.......our experiences ranged from :sad2: to :furious: . Now we use SW, and it's all  and :goodvibes .

I leaving July 27 and coming back July 29.

If you do have Ding, July fares should start showing up in late May or early June. Can't guarantee that they would work for your schedule (Fri-Sun). Generally, the best Dings are for during the week.
Our schedule is fairly flexible (DH is self-employed and our kids are grown), so we usually find a really good SW fare. :thumbsup2
I can understand how SW might not work for those w/kids along and more fixed schedules, although with the 24 hour BPs, "A" passes make assigned seating a non-issue for me.:)

I hear you!! I'm trying to find a good deal from PHX to MCO in October, and so far the cheapest is about $300 RT. Last year we flew for $200 RT, and we already had the tickets by now!! I know I just need to be patient-I'm just not good at waiting. It stresses me out that the flights will sell out and we won't get the times we want!

When I finally purchased my tickets for $229 it was the best deal I had seen. Most of the flights from Grand Rapids Mi to Orlando were at the $300 mark.

With only 3 months to go, you may have to make a decision pretty soon. Which is most important? Flight times or cost? How much will it affect your vacation if you get not so great flight times?:confused3

Don't give up hope. Generally for me, the good fares on SW come up closer to the dates I am leaving. I know it is hard to wait and nerve wrecking, but 6-8 weeks prior to the date you leave is better for getting decent fares with SWA. Good luck!

This will probably not help you much, but if you are willing to drive to GSO, add a day, fly into Orlando/Sanford, which will require a car, or other transportation to get to WDW, you can fly for $112 round trip. Allegiant air is adding service from GSO to Orlando/Sanford, and having a great sale doing it.

Our January trip on SW was disappointing as far as costs; inspite of watching for DINGS, cheaper rates, etc. I was never able to get my flights any lower than $175. You may have difficulty also since you are trying to fly on a Friday and a Sunday. In my experience, these are the least discounted days.

I hear you. After I spend exhaustive hours trying to get the best deal I can, once I commit I have to NEVER look at the boards again for deals or it absolutely drives me crazy thinking "what could have been."

I'd be jumping for joy to get a $200 ticket out of MN!
