I am thinking about ordering a Sunpass for our next trip to Disney World
I have a couple of questions

1 Can I use a Canadian credit card to pay for it and add money to the pass

2 does it work on all Florida Toll roads IE the Ticket ones and the new one just out side Disney where there is only a coin payment system

Thanks in advance

Rob

Rob, if your question doesn't get answered here, you can ask this question on the Transportation Board, they would likely have some local folks who could answer your question.

I don't know the answers. But I go to Florida yearly, because I have family there. And I've never gotten the Sunpass. It's expensive to buy, and don't know if it's worth it. How long will you be there? Guess you'd have to figure out if it's worth it. To me it's not. I always have a car rental & can't buy the new sunpass you stick on your windshield, as it's permanent.

I just ordered the Sunpass transponder from Switzerland and they had no problem with my Swiss credit card. However, they don't ship to Switzerland, so I had to give a friends adress in the US who then will forward it to me.

For me it is not so much about saving money but about the convenience. It is so nice to just zip through instead of searching for money and wait in line.

In the past, I would also have needed to exit a toll road at a Sunpass only exit and since I didn't have one drive a couple of miles farther and then drive back on regular roads. While the transponder costs more it is the only one that can be used in more than one car, like rental cars.

The sunpass is also sold in CVS and Publix stores as well as at rest stops on the toll roads in Florida.

When we rented a car last November, we got the Sunpass through the rental company as we used the turnpike to go to Gainsville and also used it at other toll roads. It was the best move ever as we saved so much time, especially coming home after the football game. There was a massive lineup of cars waiting to pay at a few of the turnpike tolls. I thought that I had read in a paper down there that in a year or so, they would be doing away with the toll booths and billing via camera (like the 407) due to accidents that have happened at the toll booths.

I wonder if they would be equipped to read to international license plates if they did this?

I am sure that they would due to Florida being a major tourist destination. I am sure that if you did not pay the bill and were ever stopped down there for a traffic violation at a later date and had an unpaid toll pass, well I am sure that the person would have wished they would have paid the toll
