We love POFQ. It's our favorite moderate hotel, but I've tried three different codes, checked AAA rates and AP rates and can't get 10 nights in Sept or Oct. I thought the economy sucked and I could get a deal.

Keep trying...people cancel all the time (we cancelled our September trip). You are looking during free dining and the food and wine festival and I have read that several resorts are filled up. But again...keep trying...people cancel all the time.
Keep trying, things open up at the last minute all the time! Here are some tips too
1. Change your dates us...if there are no discounts for the weekends ask for a regular rate for Fri-Sun and then check for a discount rate Sun-the departure day...may have more than one reseration number but you may get a price break.
You don't always need special codes to get deals. A few weeks ago we had a good deal at POFQ, but my wife wasn't clear on the number of nights and had to call back and we ended up staying at Riverside for the regular rate.
Also, if there's a recession, you can't prove it at WDW. Most of the resorts were booked up a few weeks ago and the parks were pretty crowded. We stopped by the Magic Kingdom this past Tuesday and it was crowded. I think WDW is no longer feeling the crunch.
Room only discounts through October 3 ($96 at POFQ) came out today. Have you tried calling to check with that deal? If the free dining room allotments are not available, the room only discounted rooms may be.
