Getting a Cab at Resorts

I am working on our "plan" for getting here to there in WDW - is it difficult to get a cab to go from resort to resort.... we have some ADRs at some of the other resorts and I am thinking grabbing a cab would just simplify some of the transportation to these places... I will utilize WDW transportation as much as I can... but with 8:00 ressies for breakfasts at other hotels and some signature dining I figure it will be easier to just take a cab- we are a family of three...

Can the staff get you a reliable company???? and a good ride at the front desk??? or is there a bell staff or???? we are staying at POFQ

I am interested in this too for the same reasons! We will be at POR:santa:
TIA:)

We stay at the POFQ and have never had a problem getting a cab in a matter of minutes. Just go to the bell captain and request a cab. There are usually a few in the immediate area that come right over. For an early morning you may wish to place a request with the bell captain the evening before.

OH GOOD IDEA... I never thought of that... :) Thanks

Did you like POFQ??????? we just switched to it

We got cabs for our early ADR's and never had a problem. There's always a few cabs waiting out the main entrance. I think WDW has a deal with and only allows the one cab co. at their resorts for pick ups.

It's really worth the money to sleep in an extra 30-45 minutes and to not have to stress about the busses. We took a cab back from Pleasure Island to the Poly once cause we were so tired (and a little tipsy) and didn't want to bother with the bus.

We have done this many times. Also we have done this in reverse leaving another resort back to our resort and it works out just fine. I love the pofq, It's our favorite.

We have stayed at the POFQ 4 times in the last 2 1/2 yrs, and just love it.Make sure to take the boat to DTD, it's so much fun also.

Cabs are easy to find, just ask the bell captain.

WE loved POFQ, it is the smallest of the moderates, and less walking. Having never been to New Orleans, I felt like I was there, even if some think it's a bit cheesy.

Thanks everyone... :) sounds like using a cab is going to be as easy as I hoped... When using cab how much time should be plan....

disneydreamin247 - I just returned from ASMu a week ago. Getting a cab was the same as previously mentioned. We had ADR's for an 9:10 a.m. breakfast at another resort. We stopped at Guest Relations around 8:45 a.m. and they called a cab and a cab van for our group of ten. Both vehicles were there in about a minute. In fact, I believe they were parked in the resort parking lot. We got to breakfast in plenty of time.

When we do very early breakfast ressies we take cabs, they are always available....

We used cab's one trip, it turned out to be pretty pricey. The average cab ride is between $15 & $20 depending on from where to where. It might be easier to rent a car, you can get some really good deals for around $25 per day. Try running the numbers. I always used Disney transportation and cabs, but our last trip we rented a car, what a convenience

Awesome! Thanks SO much! I don't drive so we will be relying whole heartedly on Disney transportation. I was afraid to make ADRs at other resorts because I get panic stricken about being on time lol. But if we can take cab we will be fine.

Thats great... maybe I can plan less travel times on these cab rides then... just need to remember to budget enough $$$$
