When we started planning this cruise we were 196 days out and now we are down to 9 days!! We are getting very excited!!

But of course I have a couple of questions!!

1) If we are getting off the ship to go to the beach in St. Thomas, can we use the towels off of the ship or do we need to bring our own? It would not be a "Disney" excursion.

2) How does Shutters work? Can you buy individual pictures or do you have to buy them only in a package deal? Do you have to commit to a package right away or can you wait to see how many of the pictures you want?

3) How soon do we need to sign the DD's up for the Kid's program? Should we do this before the lifeboat drill?

Thank you so much for all of your help on these boards!! I would feel totally inept without all of the tips that I have gotten off of these boards!!

You're gonna have a great time..........let me take a stab at your questions..........

--You can take towels from the ship, no matter what. Just be sure to bring them back. Look for a big bin before you get off the ship. If you don't see it, ask! I've walked by them several times and felt silly when I didn't see them.

--You can buy pics however you want. We asked about stacking them together until the end of the cruise. They were very accomodating, but I'd ask if I were you, just so they know. We ended buying just about all the pics they took. We only had 1 formal pic taken, but their pics they took of our kids while they were playing/swimming were great.

--There is a time on the day you leave port to sign up. There will be plenty of room, so you don't have to worry about that, but sign her up so that she can see the lab/club and hang out there and feel comfortable there.

Enjoy!!!

As far as signing the kids up, you can do it anytime. There's no rush (They don't run out of spaces.) We did it after first seating of dinner on our first cruise, IIRC. Signing the kids up should be the LAST thing to do on your list (unless you want to get rid of the kids first. :p

Photos: We didn't buy too many, but I think they're cheaper when you buy the packages, and I think they something towards the end of the cruise (free frame) for an incentive to buy a package. Grouping your photos sound like a good idea, I know some of our kids disappeared after a couple days! Maybe we should have asked also.

Towles are available in a big rack when leaving the ship. Se you there!

Minnie: My take on signing your kids in is to do it early. On our first cruise (5/11) our DD got separated from us at the pool. We hadn't made it to the club to sign her in, and she got lost just as they started corralling everyone for the lifeboat drill.

Making a long story short, the staff took her to the kid's club for the drill, they did the drill, looked her name up on the computer and delivered her to our room. But since we hadn't checked her in yet, they weren't able to page us to let us know they had her. I spent about 45 FRANTIC minutes trying to track her down!

This time, we are signing the kids into the clubs as soon as it's available! Reservations at Palo's aren't worth the fear factor of losing your kid!!!

I like the idea of signing the kids up early for that exact reason. The kids are given a wrist bracelet with their name and room number on it so if they get lost or wander away it makes it easier for cm's to find their parents (thankfully that never happened to us but you never know!)
