So I found a great deal on the Swan and Dolphin on getaroom.com but I have never heard of this site before. Does anyone have any experience with this sight? Any information and/or opinions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Derek

I used that site last year to book the Hilton Bonnet Creek. I called them to book and it was very easy. About a week later I called the hotel to add my rewards number. We checked in when expected without any problem.

Hope you don't mind me asking what type of rate did you get, and for what time of year? Was it one of those prepaid rates?

I'm curious, because there are so many S/D discounts available directly from the resort, and I know firsthand that it's not unheard of for them to match discounts from other sources. (They matched a Travelocity rate for me just last October.)

I was able to find a deal for the dolphin for $159 a night from September 17-24 in a standard room. Seems like a great deal to me, but I haven't really looked into deals for these two resorts very often. If you have any opinions on what to do as far as call and see if they match these prices, feel free to chime in. TIA

Actually, that same rate (a AAA rate) is available on the Swan/Dolphin Offers page...and you receive a $50 stay credit besides, which you can use for food, beverages and activities.

Are you by any chance a government employee, a nurse, a member of the military, or a teacher? The S/D offers discounts for all those groups...for example, the teacher rate for your dates would be $139/night (plus taxes and fees).

You can always book something now (something that's fully refundable) and then check back for better deals. I know that the Starpicks rates (which can be booked 6 weeks in advance of your stay) for September over the past few years have been amazing...as low as $99/night.

Personally, I prefer booking my stays with the resort directly, rather than a 3rd party, but that's just me.

Good luck with planning your trip!

The only problem I have found with the teacher rate is that it never seems to be available during peak times. As a teacher I can only travel to WDW during peak times (when school is out).

I checked into the teachers rate for Christmas this year and as expected it was not available.

My district does not allow more than 2 days off in a row without a doctors note and I can not take the day before or after break off.

Good luck.

Damn, where do you teach? We get three personal days a year. If we save we can have up to five in a year. I bank 1 of mine and go the week after TG when we already have Monday off and then I use the four Personal days for the rest of the week. No doctors notes needed unless you miss more than three for sick days. You need a new contract :rotfl2:

WOW I want your contract. Ours is very strict on sick days and personal days. We get 2 personal days a year, they can not be used together, and they can not used the day before or after a break.

I have contract envy

I am a sub teacher and we are off next week for spring break. I just called this past Friday night and was lucky and got the Dolphin for $179 for March 31st-April 3rd. We are happy with that. Husbands staying home and not all kids are going. Me,my 2 teenage daugters,my girlfriend and her son who is 8. We live 8 hours from Disney (Atlanta Ga) but we are going for a short trip. I got this same rate for December 8 using the AllEars code, and there's no restrictions. I only need one night after our cruise, and we've never stayed at the Dolphin before so I'm happy. I think the rates started at $139 so you should call them to check.
