"Get your elbows off the table!!!" A marathon weekend TR completed 3/22

Wow, you got a lot done that morning at Epcot.

Bummer it was so cold for you though. I'm watching the weather for our trip next week and right now it's looking like lows in the mid 40s and highs in the mid 60s. A little cooler than I would like but I think we can deal with that.

Once again your Grandma's ride photo cracks me up! :rotfl: Since she could see the fast part on the outside, she shouldn't have been mad with you. ::yes::

Yes it was a very busy morning and the longest day of the trip at least for me since I was up at 2:45. The cold was still better than below zero in Wisconsin but I didn't expect to wear sweatshirts in Florida either.

She saw the outside and I told her it goes around 60 MPH. She said it can't be much worse than driving with grandpa

Looks like a very fun day at Epcot. Love that ride photo of your grandma on test track. And her remark about riding with grandpa is hilarious! :rotfl2:

Yes it was a lot of fun and there is still more to go! I would have to say my grandma made some of the funniest remarks all trip long.

You had a full day with running a race and spending the day in Epcot.

I love the family pics before and after buying sweatshirts. At first I thought you took the pictures on different days. :)

Poor Grandma. She looks like she's enjoying herself as long as she's not on a ride. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to hearing about Biergarten, it's a favorite of ours. :goodvibes

Yes it was just too cold we had to cave in and get sweatshirts.

Yes she enjoyed everything except for the rides basically even with some Dramamine. She was never a rides person even when she came to the parks in the 70s.

Congrats- you did it!

World Showcase in the dark is so beautiful! Your picture with Mushu was a great grab! It seems like you're hooked on runDisney! :cool1:

I love Living with Land. I'd love to do the greenhouse tour one day- I just think it's the coolest darn set-up in there!

That's hilarious that you caught another DIS-er in your race picture!!! :thumbsup2

I always wonder if go-go boots and yellow tights were actually work appropriate in the 70s :rotfl:

Glad to see you rocked that awesome Minnie medal!

Thanks!

I loved running around World Showcase it was fantastic. I am hooked I am already trying to convince my mom to let me do it again next year.

I also want to do the tour in Living with the Land. That was hilarious that I had a DIS-er in my photo.

Yes I love the medal, and seeing everyone else from the other races only made me want to do the other ones.

After the UK we continued on. We got to France which is a country I really wanted to look more into because I have stopped in here. I had also heard good things about the ice cream shop there so I had to try it out.

After my great Strawberry Sorbet we kept moving.

This is one of my favorite Photopass photos because just look at my grandma I don't know why she looks like she was spooked or what.

My Grandpa looks like he's waving goodbye.

Someone wanted a picture in front of the tree. We waited here while my aunt and uncle ate a jalapeño pretzel.

I love this view.

This is one of my favorite little things in all of Walt Disney World. The trains in Germany!

We had some more time to kill before our ADR in Germany so we looked around in the shops.

Coming from Wisconsin which is home to Miller and several other beer companies I thought this was fitting.

We checked in for our ADR about a half hour early but they didn't seem to mind because we were seated in about 10 minutes and the place was fairly empty.

Overall it was a really good experience. If we had to choose a lead favorite ADR from our trip it would have to be this one. The entertainment was great and we loved how they interacted with the crowd. The food was good but it just wasn't the greatest. My Uncle and Grandpa really liked it because they eat pretty much everything they had but the rest of us aren't huge german food eaters.

Up Next: The end to the longest day ever.

In all your pictures your family looks like they're having so much fun! That picture with your Grandma's surprise face is too funny! :rotfl2:

Yes they really did have a good time. My grandma really had some of the best photos the entire trip.

I love the pictures of the Christmas decorations in France, I hadn't seen those.

Your family pictures are great. Your grandpa was the only one who dressed sensibly that day. ;) Again, grandma's faces are priceless.

We like Biergarten mostly because DH loves all the meat. We're going back in April and can't wait.

I loved the decorations as well. I have never seen any in person so seeing them up around the parks was really cool.

My uncle said we paid for this photo thing we might as well use it so we tried to use as many as we could.

This was our first time at the Biergarten. My uncle and grandpa liked it and I liked the sausage. It wasn't a bad meal but if we had to pick one to be our least favorite that would be it.

Oh, I really need to try that ice cream in France. I've read so many good things about it but I just haven't made it there yet. I really want to try one of the ice cream martinis.

Great pictures around WS! Your Grandma is quickly becoming one of my favorite "characters" in the TR. :rotfl:

I have to agree with you about Beirgarten. It was definitely not my favorite. I really struggled there because I cannot eat pork and I really don't like sausage. There wasn't a whole lot beyond those two items to choose from. My husband on the other had loved every minute of it because his Grandma was German and he grew up eating a lot of those dishes.

Yes definitely try the ice cream in France.

She was my favorite character of the trip.

I agree with the Biergarten it wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad. My uncle and grandpa really enjoyed it.

Arg! I remember your Epcot day - I was in DHS that day and it was SO COLD! Good call on the Starbucks.

Love that ice cream in France....sooo, so good!

Yes the weather seemed to follow us from wisconsin.

It was very good!

The end to the longest day ever

After our dinner at the Biergarten we kept moving along. We didn't stop in China but did stop at Norway. The sun was setting over the lagoon.

We stopped in Mexico to warm up really and look around. Photo bomb by grandma.

My grandparents and aunt decided that they needed to go back. My uncle and I were going to stay for Illuminations which I would say is probably my favorite show.

We still had well over an hour before the show so we checked the wait time at Test Track. It was only 30 minutes so we hopped in line. It took about 20 and we were on.

Can you tell we aren't as excited this time.

We still had an hour to kill but we decided just to get a spot and wait. My uncle got a margarita and I don't even know why because it was so cold. I opted for a hot chocolate.

Then it was finally time Illuminations!

Continued in next post...

Part 2

If you didn't know Illuminations recently got all brand new lasers.

Okay can you tell I love this show. We finally headed out after one of the longest days ever. We had a big day at the Magic Kingdom tomorrow.

That sunset picture is just amazing!

Yeah for a short wait for Test Track. It's always so long when I'm there.

Ugh, I love Disney margaritas but only when it's hot. I would have gone with your option of hot chocolate!

Beautiful pictures of Illuminations. I haven't seen it in a few years because I hate fighting the crowds. I need to stop and watch it again soon.
