Get your DVC APs before rumored price increase! *Renewal procedure posts #17, #23

maybe in your case purchasing a non expiring PH would be better?
Then the next time around when you're going for a longer period you can always upgrade it to an AP?

Wouldn't even have to be a hopper if she just wants to go to Epcot Wine and Food Fest...then like you said upgrade later to the AP.

Yeah, considering perhaps a 6 day non expiry...

That might actually work for us for the next 3-4 years to be honest...

Ha ha, and I'm a 'he'. LOL

Here is my dilemma... My DVC AP expires in early October... I'm cruising in November but might be able to catch 1 day at the F&W festival... I really don't want to pay $71+ for a one day ticket but I'm not certain if we are going to be going back to WDW in 2009...

Not sure what do to...

I would say it depends on how often you plan on going for just a day or two here or there. If I would buy a 10 day non-expire pass and then you will have it for occasions just like this.

Oh sorry, I should have read more closely....just also wanted to say that with the prices going up supposedly this weekend you might want to get them now? :goodvibes

MomX, the same thing happened to me yesterday. I ordered 2 APs and was given a Will Call conf. #. Since I'm not picking them up until December, I, too, feel a bit funny about not having a voucher or even an email confirmation.

The reason is this: I ordered MVMCP tickets for December as soon as they went on sale for this year. A couple of weeks ago I told MS that I would like to verify the Will Call conf. # they gave me for the tickets. They couldn't find it in my file! The CM I was speaking with said there was no record that I had purchased tickets for MVMCP. She gave me a number to call to see if the conf. # could be located.

Fortunately, the number was tracked down in the second phone call (I think it was to Ticket Services?) but I said the experience made me apprehensive about picking up the tickets in December.

Now I feel the same way about the APs, especially since I'm buying them so far in advance.

The member website shows the price for the AP as $369 plus tax for adults. That's a $21 increase. The online ticket store still has them for $348 plus tax.

Thanks for catching that! My math is a bit rusty, but is that a 6% increase?

Renewals are apparently going up only $9, with a $105 discount, to $324.

Thanks for the heads up - I was waiting until the last minute to by our new AP's for our Sept trip, but with it going up a little over $40 for two, I jumped in now and bought through the online store.

Ty

What is a DDE card? Thanks.

Carol

DDE is Disney Dining Experience. If you have an AP I believe the cost is $60, and it gives you a 20 percent discount on most table service restaurants, including alcohol.

I called MS this morning to get an annual pass, I was charged $370.26 total and given a will call number. This is my first time with an annual pass, but he said I can go to guest relations in DTD and than purchase my DDE card there. I could not prepurchase this, and need it for dinner. I asked him about price increase and he said he didn't know anything:confused:

I'm kinda nervous since I have no receipt or anything....

Can you renew online?

MS phone lines are jammed.

Is tonight the evening they are open late???

Anyone know if they will be be offering an DVC AP discount for DL when the GCV opens?

DVC members get a discount on APs all the time. It's not just when you first join. I don't know how many years it's been that they've been giving discounts on APs, but it's been for many years now. I don't expect that perk to go away. People would be really angry if they did that.

Are you buying into GCV? Good luck!

Long ago the perk for DVC owners used to be free park tickets. They ended that and there were lots of angry owners. No *perk* is guaranteed to continue indefinitely, so you should assume that the discount will have an end date some point. This way you'd be a happy camper if it continues but you won't be shocked or disappointed when it ends.

MS is no longer open late. It's 9:00am - 5:30pm Eastern - 7 Days a week.

Yes you can renew on-line. Go to disneyworld.com/passholder and login using the code on the back of your pass.

You can also do it online if you go to the Disney site for annual pass holders and log in with the numbers on your pass. Then you can get to the section to renew at the DVC prices. When you get there, you can select the number of renewal vouchers you want to buy. I just did that with my DH's numbers from his current A/P and I ordered 4 A/P renewal vouchers to cover the two of us for the next two years. I don't see Disney going light on the ticket price increase as that has NOT been their recent trend. Now we are covered for our next two years of trips.

Hellllllp!! I tried this and keep getting a message saying I can only renew within 30 days. I couldn't see a link for DVC renewals, as that 30 day message prevented me from seeing it. Where exactly is the "section to renew at DVC Prices" on the ap site, I don't see it when I put my ap number in? TIA for any help you can give me, would rather do it online but if I can't I will certainly call.

ETA: Never Mind. I called MS and had no trouble renewing at the current price (335.48).

Just curious to know if anyone who bought a NEW AP got a voucher rather than just a confirmation number.
