Get your DVC APs before rumored price increase! *Renewal procedure posts #17, #23

Help! Where is the best (cheapest) place to buy 4-day Park Hopper passes?
DH and I have APs, but our children do not and we are all going in Dec. A little savings goes a long way!!

TIA

Question: I renewed my AP last week. I was given a confirmation # and was told I would not be getting any type of voucher, but to take the # to guest relations when we go and pick them up will call. Does that sound right to you guy? I feel weird not having a voucher or anything but the confirmation #.

Is anyone else surprised considering the price of gas and the questionable economy that WDW is raising their ticket prices now?

I hit my $300 limit for APs a few years ago. So it is 10 day non-exp, visit the parks rarely and get our Universal AP's renewed for us. Either way, we will have fun.

You can also do it online if you go to the Disney site for annual pass holders and log in with the numbers on your pass. Then you can get to the section to renew at the DVC prices. When you get there, you can select the number of renewal vouchers you want to buy. I just did that with my DH's numbers from his current A/P and I ordered 4 A/P renewal vouchers to cover the two of us for the next two years. I don't see Disney going light on the ticket price increase as that has NOT been their recent trend. Now we are covered for our next two years of trips.

That's a really good idea! Can you get two renewal passes and use one the year after? Or are they both dated based on your current AP? My AP expires in October. I've never renewed before as we were only going twice a year before this year. I was planning on renewing and want to order before prices increase. Will the renewal voucher be dated from today's date? Or will it be dated based on the expiration of my current AP? If I was to order two for each of us could we use the other voucher next year?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the heads up. We're going in October for F&W. I'll call MS this week in order two AP's before the increase.

That's correct. Bring a photo ID.

What I got was a “will call number” beginning with WIL and containing 11 alphanumeric characters. This is probably what your “conformation” number is.

I had a mailed certificate card I bought a month ago so I could browse the PASS site and bought DW and 2 DS PAPs yesterday.

By the way I picked up an AKL standard view studio for 8/16-8/17 yesterday for $162 with tax so there are still a few bargains out there.

I am arriving late (11:30 flight) has anyone been able to get there spouses pass with just taking their id. MK is open till 3AM that night and we are at WL so I was hoping that DW could stay with the kids and I could go over and get our passes.

I do not know historical increases.

Right now, to renew a DVC annual pass, it's $315 + $20.48 tax. Oh, and $3 to have the vouchers shipped.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I received a notice yesterday to renew my PAP and it says that the DVC member renewal price is $440.92 for adults (regular price is 483.53) and $388.74 for kids (regular price is $426.01).

Plus $3 for shipping, of course!

That was my concern too but according to Inkmahm the renewal vouchers are non dated. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that :yay:
I thought renewals always starts from the day after the current one expires. Apparently I was wrong...

Busch raised some of the prices for Seaworld and Busch Gardens within the last couple of months. So my answer is no.

They aren't even directly tied to the current A/P number! That's exactly what I did, buy 4 renewal passes so my DH and I are covered for the next 2 years. My current pass doesn't expired until the end of April 2009 and DH's will expire in December 2008. Now we're covered until April 2011 an December 2010. The renewal vouchers extend whatever pass you have now by another year from that expiration date.

No, you're not wrong. There are no dates on the renewal vouchers. You can use them any time in the future to extend any annual pass that you have. When you use them though, they WILL extend from the expiration date of the annual pass that you already have. See my post above.

You're not changing your annual pass renewal date, you're just locking in the renewal costs at current prices rather than waiting for the price increases in the future.

I'm buying my APs now before the price increase for our April trip. If I choose the will call option, will I just get a confirmation number to take to the ticket window? And can I also buy my DDE card at the same time? Or would it be better to get the actual vouchers now and order the DDE card in advance?

I have renewed APs for my family several times without them present. Just had our old APS, ids and my DVC card. But I don't think I'd make a special trip to the MK to do it. I just head to the park a few minutes before the others.

Figured an increase was coming. Told traveling companions to get their tickets early. Also bought tickets for DFIL and friend for another vacation. We should be good to go. Thanks for posting this!

If I call to order a DVC discounted annual pass, and pick it up as will call on our next trip, can I buy a DDE card when picking up the pass?

Yes, you can as long as you're at a Guest Services window. Ticket windows can sell APs but not DDE. Not sure if will call APs can be picked up at ticket windows though. But just go to a GS and you're set.

I will be surprised if it is a very large/significant increase. I think with all the rising costs (especially in airfare) Disney is going to have to think of ways to make themselves more affordable - not less. Huge ticket increases aren't going to be the way to do it.

We have purchased 7 day park hoppers thru UT for DH and I to use and upgrade in Aug. I'm not panicking about the few dollars that it may go up to upgrade those to APs.

Here is my dilemma... My DVC AP expires in early October... I'm cruising in November but might be able to catch 1 day at the F&W festival... I really don't want to pay $71+ for a one day ticket but I'm not certain if we are going to be going back to WDW in 2009...

Not sure what do to...

maybe in your case purchasing a non expiring PH would be better?
Then the next time around when you're going for a longer period you can always upgrade it to an AP?
