I was talking to Stephen last week, and telling him how sad I was that we were going to be unable to see Spectromagic and the MK fireworks when we went in September because we were leaving on Friday, and they were on Saturday. I love to see both of those events. He suggested that I just make ressies for two more days, and come home on Sunday! I was surprised. He said to borrow DVC points from next year because with Qwest contract coming up in August 2003, we probably won't be able to go to WDW next year, so we might as well use our points now. So, I am going from September 7 to the 15th, going to Night of Joy the first Saturday, and seeing Spectro and MK fireworks the last night we are there. Isn't he a great guy?

How exciting is that?

I know we are thrilled that we are leaving one day early...

What could be better than that!!! Congrats on the extended vacation (and on having such a great guy).

He's a great guy, tc! Good for you, two more days, don't you love when that happens?

Such a sweet guy you have there. Enjoy your extra two days of vacation.

I am lucky. And I was so surprised when I called DVC that they had it available. I didn't need to waitlist or anything. I wonder if people are not traveling at that time due to the pending anniversary.

It's a lot easier to get rooms at DVC on Friday and Saturday night due to the increased number of points necessary to stay then. When we plan our trips, we try to stay 12 nights, arriving on a Sunday afternoon and checking out on the Friday of the following week. That way we only spend two nights at the higher point rate. It's really amazing to me to see just how empty the parking lot gets on Friday and Saturday nights, only to fill back up on Sunday.

two extra days in disney sounds great.

I was just reading an article in the paper about how airlines are cutting their schedules way back the week of 9/11.

Reservations are way down, I guess.

Herc.

TC, that makes sense. I avoid staying Friday and Saturday nights, usually, but this time I didn't. I was going to try at OKW where the points are cheaper, or ever boardwalk, but we don't want to have to move resorts. Last September we stayed at BWV, OKW and WLV all in about 12 days. It was tiring moving around so much.

I agree with you Kelli about moving between resorts. We only had to move once during our last visit to WDW. And that was one time too many for me.

That is so cool!! What a great guy...enjoy Spectro and the fireworks!!!

That is great! Sounds like so much fun!

How exciting! Congratulations on your extended trip! :)

That's great, Kelli!!! And you will really enjoy Night of Joy. I did that back in 2000 and would love to again, very inspiring evening. :sunny:
