Get Off The Ship - we are running out of towel animals! Update 10/25 Day 31

We like Animator's Palate. Love the pictures.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

We like it too for this second show. The one with Crush gets VERY loud. :thumbsup2

Ooh your dinner looks yummy! Buttered popcorn soup?! Very interesting.

It was so good! Unfortunately they no longer have it. Why do they always do away with the things that I really like? :lmao:

Aw, the picture you have of Mickey cutting the corn, is a short that I used to watch when I was a little girl. Now I show Calvin it and he loves it :goodvibes

Don't you just love those classic shorts. They never get old and you can watch them over and over again. It's great that you show them to Calvin. Never to early to get your Disney fix. ;)

That towel shark is super impressive! Wow!

Raj really outdid himself with his towel animals. He was so creative! :goodvibes

Loved your towel shark! :cool1:

Raj was so creative when it came to towel animals. We really loved walking into the room at night and discovering what he had come up with for that day. :thumbsup2

The food looked good. The Buttered Popcorn Soup does sound interesting. Just found the recipe, might try it sometime.

MMMM that dessert looks so yummy!
The shark is just too cute too!

It was really yummy, but oh so filling! ;)

Raj was so creative when it came to towel animals. But he was happy we were leaving soon - he was running out of towel animals. :rotfl:

Day 17, August 23

Another day at Castaway Cay - Part 1

Today we were up early. Another day in paradise was ahead of us and we did not want to miss too much of it. So after we had peeked out on the veranda and saw that we were close to Castaway Cay, we took showers and as soon as the Royal Court opened we headed down for breakfast.
There were some Cast Members working that we already knew, so we were quickly led to a nice table and handed a menu, which we would not have needed. It did not take long and a server was coming over to take our order. Tom ordered some coffee, while I stuck with orange juice and then we went to order the usual breakfast,

Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt and I got the

Mornin' Tug Boat, a fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt. It did not take long and both were served and consumed. And once the plates had been removed we were both served my standard DCL breakfast, the

Traditional Eggs Benedict, toasted English muffin with grilled Canadian bacon, served with poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce, grilled roma tomatoes and link sausages.
The perfect big breakfast for a day at the beach. Service was pretty fast that day, so we were done in a short amount of time and headed back to our stateroom. We put on our Cabana wristbands, grabbed our bags and off we went.
Didn’t take long and we were off the ship

and walking towards the tram. Once we got close enough we saw that there were a lot of people waiting, so we decided to just walk to the stop for Serenity Bay.

We weren’t in any particular hurry, so we joined the masses as they went towards the family beach. There were quite a few stops to enjoy the scenery and take a few photos before we arrived at the shops where we bumped into Laura and her family. We chatted for a short while and told them that they would be more than welcome to visit us in our cabana and they said that they would if time would allow them. Then we were to part, as Tom and I took the tram to Serenity Bay.

A few minutes later we arrived there and our Cabana host was already waiting for us to take us to our Cabana. He showed us around the Cabana, but soon realized we knew the ins and outs and left us, mentioning that we only needed to press the button whenever we needed him.

To be continued ............

Ahhhhh! Castaway Cay Deja Vu! I just LOVE that island! I saw quite a few cabanas that looked unoccupied, which I thought was so strange. Those cabanas look so cool!

Great start to the day. Denny and I never did a sit down breakfast, which I really regret. We just never seemed to have time with exercise and the double dip. Oh well. sigh Next time!

I have loved reading this so far! We went on our first cruise over Thanksgiving (Dream 4 night) and loved it! When DH said he'd love to do it again, I ran to the future sailings desk before he could change his mind and booked the Western Carribean for next summer. Reading your TR has given me some great pointers!

Isn't it just so beautiful?
There is usually always one unoccupied cabana on Serenity Bay. But they are such a beautiful retreat. :goodvibes

Don't worry, Mary Ellen. We never even realized you could have a sit down breakfast on our first cruise. :lmao:
There is usually so much to do, but now that we have been several times on three of the ships we enjoy the more leisurely things around there, like sit down breakfasts. ;)

Thank you for following along.
Yeah for getting to the Future Cruise desk and getting your next cruise in place. Which Western Caribbean sailing will you be on?

Day 17, August 23

Another day at Castaway Cay - Part 2

He showed us around the Cabana, but soon realized we knew the ins and outs and left us, mentioning that we only needed to press the button whenever we needed him.
We first just enjoyed the beautiful view

and sat on the veranda, having a drink, before the ocean was calling our name. We headed in, walked way out and swam and drifted for a while,

looking back at the Cabana and watching people at the beach.

Once my eyes could not take any more direct sunlight and started to hurt we headed back to the Cabana, showered and sat in the shade. And while we sat there, we saw a server coming our way, so we waved and ordered some drinks. We had some chips while we were waiting for our drinks brought up and about 20 minutes after we had ordered we saw him coming towards our Cabana with our drinks on a tray.
We both had ordered the Castaway Cay signature drink, a

Konk Kooler and we sat on our veranda sipping them when we noticed some people pointing at something on the beach and realized that Captain Jack made his walk along the beach.

It was fun seeing the reactions of the people on the beach, but once we had finished our drinks and Captain Jack had left the beach we decided to head back into the ocean again.

It was lovely drifting in the warm water under the perfectly blue skies. Indeed we had found heaven on earth. When we got back on shore we dried off and then changed into dry clothes before we slowly strolled along the edge of the beach to the barbecue station.
It was already going towards 1pm and there were still a lot of people having lunch there. So we both grabbed a plate and filled it with yummy salads and I tried the Bratwurst they were offering that day,

while Tom tried the Bratwurst as well and picked up some barbequed ribs.

We found a table, Tom went and got some drinks and we sat there enjoying our wonderful lunch. For dessert we had picked up some cookies, but four of them were just too much,

so we wrapped them in some napkins and took them with us when we left.

We had thought about walking back, but our Cabana host had seen us and drove his golf cart right over to drive us.

To be continued ............
