Get Off The Ship - we are running out of towel animals! Update 10/25 Day 31

I'm all caught up here now, too!

Loved the blue stone idea from your FE. I wish I had one on our last visit to CC, especially since I am not sure when we will be there again. I really do love that place.

The towel butterfly was awesome! I guess I need to do a B2B on the Fantasy so I can get the super cool towel animals.

One of these days I want to stay at the Beach Club. I really want to swim in that pool! Kind of hard for us to justify a hotel stay when we live so close.

So sad to get off the ship but its nice to spend some time at WDW! Yay for the Mustang convertible!

Jill in CO

It was hard having to leave the Fantasy, as we had had such an awesome time, but there was more fun to come. :thumbsup2

The Mustang was really fun to drive, but we had to be very creative with our 4 week luggage. :rotfl2:

Back to Disney by 9:30! :cool1: I was still getting off the ship then. :rotfl2: But then again, I wasn't going back to Disney, just right down the street!

It was awesome to beat the crowds and be on our way so early. And we had such a great time doing some shopping and checking out the shops.

I have never visited a Steak and Shake, although I've heard a lot about them and the food looks delicious!

It is so funny as we really like to explore those chain restaurants. There is nothing like this around here. And the food is pretty darn good.

Look at those beautiful clouds!

Fun afternoon at DTD!

Can't wait to see you room view!

It was a great villa and we loved our stay there, even though it was fairly short.

It was such a great idea and we were really happy to wash it in the beautiful waters of CC to make sure we will come back. :cloud9:

The towel butterfly was awesome! I guess I need to do a B2B on the Fantasy so I can get the super cool towel animals.

Raj had come up with so many so creative ideas for his towel animals and it was so fun to see him outside our stateroom with a huge smirk on his face when we came out to tell him how much we loved his creations. :goodvibes

One of these days I want to stay at the Beach Club. I really want to swim in that pool! Kind of hard for us to justify a hotel stay when we live so close.

We really enjoyed staying at BCV! The units were really nice and we were really lucky. Stormalong Bay is such an awesome pool. The bottom of the pool is sand, so it is really great and has such a beachy feel. Guess you need to stay there for a night just to experience it. :thumbsup2

Hi Karin! Getting caught up over here too. ;)

You two and your cabanas - so jealous! Seriously - what an amazing time at CC!

Looks like a great last dinner on board - so sad though. :( But it’s so nice that you were able to spend time having fun with friends after dinner. I'm so sad that we didn't run into each other - I could have used a glass of champagne that night!

The butterfly is AMAZING!!!!

If there’s any way to get over having to leave a Disney cruise, it would have to be driving straight to WDW! And your Steak ’n’ Shake meal looks great!

It's so sad you had to leave the ship but at least you are heading back to WDW! We did the Cabanas breakfast too this past year and I like that we can just eat and leave when we want to then.

Since I'm not sure when I will get back here, I want to wish Karin, Tom, and the rest of the group here a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I love your posts when you are at a cabana. Makes me wish I was there taking it all in.

My first cruise is going to be with you. You certainly know how to cruise and just no all cm’s and get along with them. Very nice of him to take you back to the ship.

I have always wanted to try beef wellington but have not, that looked good.

Glad getting off and to the car was easy for you.

That shake looks good. YUM!

You did a lot that morning especially throwing in DTD.

All caught up again.

:lmao: how cute that he was running out of animals to make!

I've only heard of the Steak N Shake through the boards and it looks great, especially that milkshake. Yum!

Can't wait to see what your room looks like :)

Hi Karin! Willow and I wanted to stop by and wish you a ....

I hope 2015 is a great year for both you and Tom! :goodvibes

Hi Karin! Getting caught up over here too. ;)

Yeah! :thumbsup2

You two and your cabanas - so jealous! Seriously - what an amazing time at CC!

Yes, I know - we just love our cabanas. So comfy and so good for my eyes. No more "crying" while sitting in the sun. :rotfl2:

It still amazes me that we did not run into each other, since our staterooms were so close and we went past several times handing out our FE gifts.
It would have been fun to have a farewell drink at Oh La La that night.

The butterfly is AMAZING!!!!

Isn't it? Raj was so creative with his towel animals, but happy not to have to repeat one.
It was so funny, as every day he would come by and ask if it was a repeat, as then he would have to change it. :rotfl2:

If there’s any way to get over having to leave a Disney cruise, it would have to be driving straight to WDW! And your Steak ’n’ Shake meal looks great!

Best cure to having the DCL blues is to head straight to WDW. :rotfl2:
And we were happy to have a "down to earth" meal for a change. The burgers and fries were yummy! :goodvibes

It's so sad you had to leave the ship but at least you are heading back to WDW! We did the Cabanas breakfast too this past year and I like that we can just eat and leave when we want to then.

It was hard leaving the Fantasy, even after two week on the ship. I could have easily stayed on (my bank account would not have been happy about it :rotfl2:).
We have come to embrace the Cabana breakfast. If you time it right you can get off the ship with VERY little wait. If you go to the regular breakfast you might end up in a never ending line to leave the ship, to get through customs, to get on the shuttle ........:rotfl2:

Since I'm not sure when I will get back here, I want to wish Karin, Tom, and the rest of the group here a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thank you!
I hope your holidays were wonderful too!

I love your posts when you are at a cabana. Makes me wish I was there taking it all in.

You really need to get one when you visit CC. It is a little decadent bit of heaven. ;)

My first cruise is going to be with you. You certainly know how to cruise and just no all cm’s and get along with them. Very nice of him to take you back to the ship.

You are very welcome to come and cruise with us, Scott. Hope Vinny wants to come too!
It's easy to make friends with the CMs when you are on the ship for such a long time. They really become friends after a while.

I have always wanted to try beef wellington but have not, that looked good.

PLEASE, try it - it is awesome!

Glad getting off and to the car was easy for you.

That shake looks good. YUM!

You did a lot that morning especially throwing in DTD.

All caught up again.

It was awesome to return to WDW as early as we did. We had a whole day left and had a lot of fun right away.

Thank you, Mary Ellen!

:lmao: how cute that he was running out of animals to make!

He came by every evening asking if he had already repeated one. He promised to make us another one if he had, but he never did. And it made for a fun title of the TR. :rotfl2:

I've only heard of the Steak N Shake through the boards and it looks great, especially that milkshake. Yum!

We don't have anything like it here in Austria, but then we do not even have Starbucks here in our city. :lmao:
We saw the ads on TV and then someone mentioned it in a TR, so when we went past one we had to give it a try and have come back several times now.

Can't wait to see what your room looks like :)

It was awesome and pics are coming up soon.

Hi Karin! Willow and I wanted to stop by and wish you a ....

I hope 2015 is a great year for both you and Tom! :goodvibes

Thank you, Roni and Willow! And a Happy New Year to you too - hopefully it brings many journeys to a Disney destination. :goodvibes

Day 18, August 24

Back onto dry land we go! - Part 3

So we grabbed our carry on suitcases and headed to the elevator to check out our villa.
It indeed was on the highest floor and looked very nice. We walked through all the rooms before we headed out onto the balcony

and found it to be really large and overlooking the quiet pool.

Just the location and view that we really love. So down we went, drove the car over to a closer location to our villa and started hauling our groceries up.

Then we called bell services to bring our luggage and about 20 minutes later there was a knock at the door and our luggage had arrived.
We unpacked a bit and enjoyed the balcony before we needed to get changed and finally head over to Epcot. It was still pretty hot outside, but it was fun just walking over to the International Gateway. It didn’t take long to get through the turnstiles and then we were heading towards Britain right away.

We had a dinner reservation at Rose and Crown.

When we arrived there was a long line to check in and we were glad we had made it over early. Finally it was our turn to sign in and we were told they were running about 20 minutes late and were handed a buzzer. We asked if it was okay to venture over to the other side and explore the English shops a bit and were happy to hear that that was perfectly okay.

So we strolled through the shops and took a few pics of the new shirts,

before returning to the restaurant. We waited outside for a bit longer

and finally were called and taken inside the restaurant. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant in the dining room and it was very loud in there. I had made the reservation not knowing when we would arrive, but since we had had time to spend in our villa we had done a lot of snacking and none of us was really hungry.

Day 18, August 24

Back onto dry land we go! - Part 4

I had made the reservation not knowing when we would arrive, but since we had had time to spend in our villa we had done a lot of snacking and none of us was really hungry.
Tom decided to have one of their

beers while I stuck to my trusted

Diet Coke and we both ordered only main courses. Tom had gone for the

Cottage Pie, Ground Beef, Onions, Carrots, Mushrooms, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, and Cheddar Cheese, while I craved their

Fish and Chips, “Rose & Crown’s Signature Dish”, Beer-battered and served with House-made Tartar Sauce and English chips, with a side of

Mushy Peas. We both were not really impressed with the Mushy Peas, but since we were not really hungry it did not matter much. Once we were done with dinner we quickly paid our bill, using our Tables in Wonderland card and were out the door. We started to walk around a bit but the crowds were thick, so after some time and having checked on the lines for rides we decided to call it a day and head back to our room.
We slowly strolled back to the International Gateway and just a minute after we left we could hear Illuminations start. When we saw that there were a lot of people on the bridge over to the Boardwalk we headed that way and joined them. It was fun seeing the fireworks from a completely different angle and without the thick crowds in the park.

Once the fireworks were over, we went over to the Boardwalk Bakery to check out if they had any new goodies

that we wanted to try and really, there was a cupcake that caught my eye, so we picked one up to go. Then we strolled back to the Beach Club. And on the way over we decided to drop off the cupcake

and since it was still early in the evening, to drive over to Kissimmee to pick up some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to enjoy on our beautiful balcony.
We soon found ourselves in the car and on the way there. When we arrived we saw the awesome “Hot Now” sign on and parked our car right outside. But before we went to buy some delicious hot doughnuts we stopped by the CVS store next to it and picked up a few necessities. Then it was time to buy and try some doughnuts. We got in line, ordered half a dozen doughnuts,

and a Diet Coke. There were open tables next to the conveyer that transports the uncooked and cooked doughnuts and we sat there, enjoying some sugary goodness and watching more doughnuts being made. We finally packed up the rest of our goodies and headed back to the car and were soon back at the Beach Club Villas. First we watched a little TV, then grabbed a beverage and sat out on the balcony, where I tried my new cupcake, a

Cappuccino cupcake, which was delicious, but very rich, so I only had about a third of it. I think it was around midnight when we finally decided to call it a day and went inside to get some much needed sleep.

That one bedroom at the BCV looks so nice and pretty. I can't wait to stay there again. You got a very nice location.

Steak and Shake has just started to come to California, but we've mostly eaten at them in the Midwest. I just love their burgers and fries!

Those shirts in the UK are so cute. Dinner at Rose and Crown looks delicious. I would love to have some fish & chips right now!

Yay for more days of vacation!

So, what is the best time to get off the ship?? I am kind of a burnt child after the chaotic day in San Diego. We were lucky with the Fantasy, but I have no idea whether that was due to us being smart or pure luck. :goodvibes

Love the Beach Club Villa pictures - even though they are soon going to be historic. I think they are starting the renovation in March...

We just loved the location! I always request a higher floor but this one was really something, overlooking the pool.

I am really glad we gave them a try as we really like the burgers and fries there and Tom loves their milk shakes too. (Me not so much I am allergic to milk :lmao:)

We had quite a few more days then which included a trip to Key West (the real one) and another stay at Old Key West once we returned. So please stay tuned. ;)

We usually head up to Cabanas around the time the first breakfast seating comes to an end. And with eating breakfast, a visit back to the stateroom to gather our belongings and a restroom break, it puts us right in between the first wave of disembarkers and the second wave which will have breakfast then. I think we were off the ship shortly after 8am.

Okay, I completely missed the announcement that they were starting the refurb in March. :lmao:
We are staying there in early April again, so, with the renovations going on that should be fun. :rotfl: Well, it is only one night and I booked it to be as close to Epcot as possible, so we will be okay. But thanks for letting us know.

The Villa looked great !! I haven't had mushy peas in years , but used to love them. I make a shepherds pie that is similar to the cottafe pie, I do have to try their fish and chips one day. The Cupcake looked delish!!
I am sorry for being absent so much and for sooo long. Just to much going on with both jobs the family and the holidays I have haD LITTLE TIME AND WHEN i DID i WAS JUST TOOOO TIRED .
