Morning everyone! Checking in...

I'm in kind if a holding pattern the week. Exercised 4 times. Food was hit or miss. It's in between Spring and Summer semesters which means limited food court for a few weeks which means no salad bar. I've been hormonal this week, too, which doesn't help. I've forgotten to take my probiotic and can tell a difference.

I'm going to the grocery store and stocking up on stuff to start my "elimination" diet. It's very similar to the Dr Oz 2 week rapid weight loss diet (look it up on Google if you want to join me) with a few modifications. I don't like flaxseeds so I use chia seeds instead. I don't use vinegar, so my salad dressing is olive oil and lemon juice. I don't know about the root vegetables; I don't really eat turnips, parsnips, and rutabagas. For veggies I don't do tomatoes because of my allergy. For exercise, I'm keeping with my morning half hour. It's supposed to be rainy this week, so I'm not sure about evenings walks.

On a closing note, Lucy is doing better. She's supposed to keep it easy with no running, stairs or jumping, but can walk a bit. I think it was easier when she was in full crate rest. It's harder to keep her level on low.

Checking in: Despite pulling/straining/wrenching a calf muscle on Wednesday, I successfully ran almost the entire 5K yesterday. I just stopped at two of the water stations and walked as I sipped the water. I was thrilled with my time of 38:44 and I'm super motivated to register for another 5K!

I weighed in at Jenny Craig Friday and was down 0.8 pounds. Thankfully, my consultant there doesn't pressure me to buy JC food; my food choices are working for me now, so she says "keep doing what you're doing!"

I have about 10 weeks before our Disneyworld vacation, so my plan for this week is to keep my exercise goals the same (run 5k 3x and strength train & walk on treadmill 3x). Keep away from white food and carbonated drinks.

Have a great week all!

I want to lose weight and get fit before our august trip. 2 months left. What should i do to get started?

Hi Luv welcome to the group. Are you able to workout and for how much? Are you able to change your food habits? It is hard to answer your question as only you know what you are able to do and how much time you can devote it. Starting anytime is great and slowly so as not to injury yourself. Can you lose 15lbs? I honestly don't know as every body and person is different and any weight loss is great.

We are here to suppost your journey and give encouragment.

Cheers

Congrats on taking some time off your run..that almost makes sense:rotfl2: I run so slow so running is almost going backwards...

We are at AKL close to the same time. Do you intend to run while there?

I'm getting worried that I planned this trip last minute and I don't have much time to shape up. I'm going to do 1/2 hr on the treadmill or outside everyday and watch what I eat. I weigh around 215lbs. If I could get down to 200 that would help. The thing I'm worried about is maintaining stamina in the heat in August but I don't have time to do a whole body overhaul, kwim? I may have to take frequent rests, grrr.

ok, starting slim fast in earnest NOW

One day at time is becoming my motto as I keep going up and down so just getting out and walking, running, skipping basically anything is a step in right direction.

I have weighed over 215lbs over the last 5 years and HATE IT!!!! and in 2012 got down to 200 but gained it all back and then some and for a girl who is 5 feet 2 I look like a apple which is green as I only like green apples:lmao:

This time I just want to keep moving as I know have hip problems which could become more of a problem if I dont take care of it now.

We are hear ;) for you and wish you the best in your jouney.

I am pretty good at keeping my exercise routine while on vacation. With the August heat, though, I expect I'll be running on the treadmill in the Fitness Center.

Finally jumping back in again. I had good intentions months ago but now I'm serious. Time to get down to work and become healthy again!

We cleared a chunk out of our basement last weekend and I can get to my treadmill again. Spent 25 minutes walking at a mild pace tonight to get myself used to it again. It wasn't long but I did get my pulse up to 125 bpm for 15 mins straight.

Here's to getting healthy for me and getting ready for WDW in August too lol!

I haven't reported in for SUCH a long time, but things are going pretty well. I have maintained at my goal weight (give or take 2 pounds), and I ran my first 5K last Saturday! My time was 31.10, which was better than I expected to do. I already signed up for another one in July. :)

With the nice weather, I've been out working with the horses more, and also getting the gardens cleaned up. All of that has helped. I currently want to eat all the things in the world all.the.time., though, so that's not so good. :/

I want to eat everything too! I'm not gaining back weight though bc I've maintained the running work outs and erring outside has opened another avenue to keep it interesting. I keep thinking though that I only I would be a little more careful with eating I could lose some more weight and feel even better.

Congrats on an amazing 5k time!

Welcome! My kids have taken my computer hostage for end of school year stuff, so I'm stuck with my phone. :) anyway, like others have said it probably depends. If you're just starting out, sometimes you can lose a bunch right away. If you want something you can sustain though think about getting healthy. You can usually feel a difference in about 2 weeks. See a difference in about 4. So I think it's definitely possible to see and feel results before your trip.

I'll add you to post #2 when I get my laptop back...

Mrs M Mouse and rebeccam, glad to hear from you! Thanks for checking in.

I have to share.. This 2 week rapid weight loss plan seems to be working. I've already lost a few pounds and am now at a total if 10 pounds since we started. Yeah!

Great job. Today is day 3 on the treadmill and while I know it will get easier, tonight I feel like a pile of goo!
