Get Away Today Piece of Mind plan

Does anyone know how the Piece of Mind plan works on Get Away Today? I am looking to book hotel and Disneyland tickets for December, but if something changes and we can't make it at that time I'm not sure how the plan works. If we reschedule are there additional charges for higher ticket prices (if this applies). If we cancel completely would we get our money back, minus the cost of the piece of mind plan?

Thanks! I've read about it on their site, but I'm still confused exactly how it works.

Not sure about cancelling completely..
But the peace of mind plan does cover changes. If you want to change hotels, its covered free up to a certain date.


If you dont get plan each things costs extra (change date, hotel, options etc)

Yes, you can cancel completely, change dates, have prices adjusted if you find a lower rate, etc. There is no charge for that. We always buy this insurance since we had the experience of having to cancel a vacation (not to Disneyland) one year...things can happen, and I would hate to lose money spent on tickets, or have to reschedule within a certain time frame. GAT has great customer service, too. The piece of mind insurance is the reason I felt comfortable buying our tickets now, before the price increase, for our summer vacation.

Thanks for all the great replies! One more thing I'm not sure of; if we would happen to have to postpone our trip from December into early next year, and the tickets are only supposed to be good through 12/31, would we have to pay more for the cost of tickets at that time? Thanks again!

That's a good question. Sorry I can't help with the answer! I would just call and ask on Monday. They really do have very helpful staff.

I purchased our April 2015 travel package through GetAwayToday back in October with the Peace of Mind Plan. I don't know the specifics of this plan but I do know that they just allowed me to upgrade our 4 day park hopper passes to 5 days ($25 total for 6 hopper passes- I feel like I got a huge deal) for no charge except the cost of the ticket price difference ($25 in my case). They had a special going for the 5 day passes a couple weeks ago so I got to take part in that deal even though our tickets were purchased months ago. Without the Peace of Mind Plan I think they would've charged me a change fee/etc. to do that or maybe not allowed me to upgrade at all. I'd maybe call and talk with them. In my experience they're really easy to work with.
