Germaphob mom, newly potty trained toddler, and WDW potties Q

Anyone have any tips and tricks for me with my 2 yr old DD when it comes to potties at WDW? I am a germaphob, needless to say my daughter has yet to use a public bathroom. When out I usually tell my daughter to go before we leave and I have her first potty in the trunk of my car for an emergency. I see the travel seats that fold up and can be put in a bag and then over the toilets but I am still thinking the front section of the toilet is exposed, usually where people end up leaving a mess on the toilet (sorry I know gross). Anyone out there like me? Any tips/ideas? Thanks!
I hate public restrooms!! When my son was potty training - I had a coffee can in the car and would make him use that instead of the public toilet sometimes! But when we do have to use public restrooms it's easier since he's a boy and can just stand and go and doesn't have to touch anything.

I bought some toilet seat covers on amazon. The front flap goes all the way down to the floor practically. So when they sit on the toilet and their legs hang down - the paper is there so their legs don't touch the front. I'll try and find the link for them. The only bad thing is that they are really thick so you can't flush them or they will clog. So you have to throw it out.

I brought our padded potty seat from home (an extra one) and kept that in the room - just used that on the toilet in the hotel. Then threw it out there (didn't take it home) on our last day.

Is there someone else going on the trip with you that could take your daughter in the bathroom? Then you won't have to go in?

I haven't read through all the replies - but I did a 5 night trip to DL when my dd was 2 and newly potty trained. Since we had a stroller with good storage underneath, I did bring a little portable plastic potty seat with us into the parks. She learned to use a regular potty (never liked the little plastic ones on the floor) so that was a bonus. I lifted her up, put my hand on the sensor so it wouldn't flush (or you can bring post it notes, I never remembered to) and so the whole process of going she never touched anything other than her own seat.

the seat has little handles so I just popped it back in a bag and washed my hands (and hers) and it was fine.

I made her go every time we stopped for the bathroom. We had 1 poop incident, as that was the hardest to get her used to going on the potty and she went in her undies during dinner. That wasn't fun! I carried around spare undies and clothes.

Thanks to everyone who had legit tips and ideas and encouragement. Going to pick up those longer potty covers and antibac wipes. I asked for ideas from moms like me who have BTDT, not judgement. Thanks again!

thanks going to look at those toilet covers, I always have antibacterial wipes on me bc my oldest has food allergies so I am always wiping down tables and chairs, and post its, and maybe disposable gloves, the thought of touching someone else urine while wiping the seats makes me want to vomit lololol.

They have proven the seat covers don't do anything to protect you from germs. They are a huge waste of money. Not judging you, but trying to save you money.:tilt:

The Disney bathrooms are usually very clean. I've never had to wipe down a seat to clean it before using. Even when the parks are crazy busy you won't have trouble finding a clean seat.

No judgement from me. I've been where you are and understand completely. One day when the problems are a little bigger you will look back and laugh a little at yourself. My sweet mother in law's only advice to me when I had my first was, the worries grow as your children do.... She had nine so if anyone knows I'm assuming its her. Enjoy this special time.

What irks me is the germaphobe that won't clean up their OWN mess after using a paper seat cover by flushing it properly or wiping the seat after they "hover" and spray while they pee. I don't like wiping down the seat after but will do is necessary. I tell DD to touch as little as possible in the restroom and then make sure she washes her hands thoroughly with soap and water after she's done.

its been proven time and time again that its extremely rare to ever pick up a Disease or "germ" from bathroom stalls. Recently the today show had an expert say that those seats covers do absolutely nothing. I think you are worried about cleanliness and I can attest there has been some instances where the toilets weren't the cleanliest overall Disney does a fantastic and commendable job at cleaning the restrooms.
Would seriously consider potty training in public restrooms before Disney.
