Geriatric MM Warriors!

What's everyone up to this weekend? We know Laura's face painting. Rainy and dark up here so I'll be staying indoors. Thought I'd get out the crockpot and try Robin's chicken and cheese casserole stuff. I have to start doing my holiday cleaning early so I'll probably get that going too. My daughter is coming out from North Carolina the week of 11/2, I'm so excited to see her again after a whole year  We have the same strange sense of humor so I know we'll be laughing a lot. Can't wait.

You must be couting the days! It's wonderful to have such a visit to look forward to. I'm hoping to do some Fall clean up in the yard and some cooking too. It's going to be sunny and warm for the next few days.

Good morning everyone!

I'm up and painting my foyer, stairwell, upstair hallway and their ceilings. It's not too bad but crown molding is a !!pain!! I'm taking a break before I totally chuck the entire idea. :headache:

I too, love all your pet stories. We had a golden for years before she disappeared on me. I miss her terribly to this day. I refuse to get another, I got way too attached to her, she was my perfect little buddy.

Nell, I sent my address and phone numbers to you via pm. I forgot all about it until this morning, sorry!

Barbie,.. I mean Robin, I get so excited for you when you talk about Ken. It's wonderful to be in love and to know that feeling. I've been with hubby for almost 32 years and I feel so lucky to have it and know it for this long. Too many people go a lifetime and not know what the real deal is. Revel in it and know that we never tire of hearing about you two! Um, make sure you keep that address list and add it to your wedding invitation list! :teeth:

My case of the hungrys seems to have left me for now, or maybe it's because I'm too busy to notice.

 Hi Carol and Sharron!! I noticed in the last couple of days that this site is really starting to feel good, like it used to be over on LCF's. LOVE THAT!!

Okay enough of this for now.:hyper2: I need to get back to work.

You all have a pleasant morning, I'll come visit during lunch! :wave2:

Pam - I have painted probably about 6 houses and have finally decided to hire a painter for this house. I painted the dining room, 1/2 bath and foyer and decided I can't do this anymore (time and kids running around getting into the paint). He was here 2-3 weeks ago, I think I scared him with all the painting I want done, he hasn't given me the quote yet. Good help is so hard to find!:confused3

Cindy: You and I got really scared about Lobster stealing our shoes, huh??

Cindy: I love my lasik eyes! I had them done for near sightedness years ago and then changed to monovision when I got older. One eye reads and one does distance. It’s like bifocals without the glasses. I love it!!! My poor son had braces into his Senior year, but his teeth are beautiful and he’s never had a cavity. At least we could pay the ortho in installments – which seemed to last forever!

I almost went upstairs to check to see if my closet was still there:rotfl:

I'm seriously thinking about this. I may just do it when I get my taxes. We have to put 2 new furnaces in the house and it's costing me $5k. So much for my little shopping spree with my house proceeds...JK:flower3:

Hey Beverly. Step2 is a whole different animal. You might try setting an alarm on your cell phone and not worry about trying to have your 11-20 exactly at meal time for awhile. Keep crackers or bars with you and if you eat one before a meal for timing purposes, don't have an 11-20 with the meal. As busy as you are, meal times can be a challenge anyway.

Step 1 was so...........easy. I had the same trouble when I got to step 2 because my schedule is crazy I felt like I was eating crackers and nothing else.

Carol, that was me that was sooo wishing to be able to do my water aerobics again. I'm glad you were able to find a pool that's working for you. I'm looking at the possibility of getting laid off after the first of the year. Not good news but in the back of my mind I'm thinking yea! I can go back to my morning water aerobics four days a week. I'll be broke but happy

Barb - I'm so sorry to hear about your lay off...I'm always in that boat at the beginning of the year. Seems like a justification time period of everything our agency does for the client and since I am 100% on that account, and the economy and blah, blah, blah...it's the same thing. I some times in the back of my mind would think I would be completely less stressed and having a ton of fun with my kids. Completely broke, but having fun!

Pam and I might do it for some Jimmy Choo's!:banana::banana:

So with Christmas shopping approaching, I thought some of you may be interested in a website that I go to every day to see what kind of "deals" I can find for either the kids or my DH. It's called Fat Wallet and they have discounts, coupons, etc. for online purchases and B&M (brick and morter) stores. If anyone is interested. The best way to surf around is to go to the main page and click on hot deals. We got a lot of great items last year for 1/2 the cost.

I know! I think we've talked about this before. I do well on step2 for breakfast and lunch by just changing my bread to an 11-20 or adding 11-20 crackers at lunch but from there on it gets more of a challenge. I always seemed to be adding an 11-20 carb dam in the afternoon and then having an 11-20 with dinner a few hours later, then having to jam an 11-20 in a few hours after that as a bedtime snack. It got to be easier just to eat step1 dinner and make snacks 11-20s :confused3 Diane does say it's not unusual to have 5 or 6 11-20s a day but boy, even after a month it wasn't natural for me to get a schedule down. I think Lisa's having an easier time with this, maybe she'll offer some tips.

Thanks Cindy, I love online shopping

Diane's basic rules say to have your 11 - 20's with your 3 meals, before bed and anytime a meal is longer than 5 hours apart. So, you have been doing it exactly the same as I have. I wouldn't change it to Step 1 meals and 11 - 20 snacks because if she wanted us to do that she would have offered it as a choice. There must be a reason as to how it affects the L & P. JMHO. :wizard:

Sometimes it's funny because I will eat an entire meal and then realize there were no carbs in it and I'll have to grab something else. I just did it at lunch today. I had a piece of salmon and a salad with all legal foods (about 2 carbs in dressing). After I finished I realized I still needed carbs, so my afternoon apple became my dessert.

HI,

I just read through the posts. It seems everyone is doing well.

Natlie, I hope your mother is doing better.

I am not a fan of painting, but I always do the detail work that I don't want hubby doing!!LOL We have a lot of crown molding, too and the effort is worth it!

Nell??? Are you still asleep? She was up until the wee hours of this day.

I had a great night's sleep again. I am constantly amazed! As I have said before, I will eat this way if for no other reason.

I did get on the scale and it really hasn't moved at all, but I am getting into different clothes so I guess something is happening. Hubby's weight keeps going down, but I think it is different for men. We gave a lot of his pants to Good Will as they were sliding off of him!! I can alter only so much or the pockets meet in the back:lmao:

I talked to a friend yesterday who has real weight issues. We lost a lot together on WW years ago and she become on of the best leaders I have ever seen. Then she lost a lot on Atkins when we started that about 6 years ago. However, now she is back up there again. I was telling her about this and all the food we can have - she really likes veggies too as well as a glass of wine. Hopefully we will have another convert. She said she has not been sleeping well, either. I said that was the best bonus of all!!

Has anyone measured lately and have you seen a difference? We are all so happy chatting away....I think Cindy said she has lost on Step 2 - what about the rest of you?

Off for my swim - will "talk" to you later in the day.

Love all of you
