Geriatric MM Warriors!

:rotfl::lmao:
Thankfully it's big enough that I'd be able to put a nice comfy chair up there by one of the widows and just watch the world go by. Mike and I actually get along great. I worked with him for about 5 years before we got together. He is my best friend (most of the time LOL). He does treat me like a queen, and I do gobble it up. A long cry from my ex-husband.

thats wonderful--I figured you'd like to get away from the clutter up there!!! My husband treated me that way when we dated and then we married and spent a few years 'floating' through our marriage. the last year or so he's been really trying to make it work and he's becoming the man I dated!! ( I have to say for the most part I've been trying the whole time, but maybe not as good as I could have) Its been so very nice--I get queen status on a pretty regular bases these days!! princess: (ok, they didn't have a queen, next best thing!)

Hi Y'all! I survived the 12 hour workday which turned into 12.5 hours due to someone in California that HAD to have a motorcycle policy NOW so he could go ride tomorrow! OMG, took me the extra half hour to get him set up...no gym tonite its a scheduled day off, thank GOODNESS! Pony is very tired...:coffee: not too tired to play with the smilies though! LOL

Cindy - so now you know that the drama was just getting to be too much for us "geriatrics", so here we are, happy again and able to talk to each other about whatever we please! MM's still, but FRIENDS TOO!! I have done the detox before and it worked pretty well, but was also HARD to do for the whole week. Might try it again myself if it works for you though.

Nell - OK OK OK, I wont stay on step 1 forever...geez, Sis, but I WANT to!! I am obviously going to wait for Diane to return and then do whatever she suggests. Are those Davinci things sugar free? Splenda doesnt bother me when I have it only a couple times a week and Diane recommends it, I cant find any of the other fancy things like Stevia or whatever anyway!

Barb - cool beans about your clothes! I cant believe I just said cool beans...OMG I AM tired!!:rotfl: KW's pie sounds so good, it might be worth going back to step 2 just for that!

Gena - Not alot of time for Ken these days except by phone and e-mail...since he is in CHINA!! His company landed a big contract over there so he is working with a project development team for a couple weeks...

Natalie - praying for you to be hopeful and faithful that your visit with Diane will get you revved up again. It is so hard, this journey, so GRATEFUL for you and everybody here to wage the war together!:grouphug:

I still cant believe how slow it is over there...its never been THIS slow before...and yeah, seems like Georgia is the new team leader...even KW isnt posting much...think its worth trying to get her here? Im just afraid she might say something over there about it...probably well enough left alone for now.;)

Yep, those syrups are sugar free. They come in glass bottles too. I'm saving the bottles so I can make herbal oils and vinegars.

Sometimes there are only three things in the dryer because the load was so small!

Does he try to do laundry when it's Saturday night and you want to watch a movie or when there's yard work he could be doing in the daylight??

Pony, I do think no mention of us is weird, and probably pretty obvious that we are all not posting or not posting much. It reinforces my belief that there is a dialog going on that we were not privy to. Otherwise someone would have mentioned it.

Natalie, I can so relate. I've studied health for years trying to get well and it's obvious that Lisa and you have done the same. I know in my case if I passed along information is wasn't received as info from someone who knows how to be well because I don't appear well. At least I didn't before. What you shared about your marriage, floating through a few years. I think that all marriages go through periods like that. If you get through those times still friends and become close again then it makes the bond stronger. I don't know if this applies to you, but with me when I'm happier I'm a lot easier to get along with so things go nicer.

Good luck with your open house Lisa! I think it's great that your husband does laundry, even if he got in the habit by something difficult. Most people have odd little personality quirks. It could be a lot worse than a laundry obsession!:rolleyes1

Kathy, that's a good point. The syrups come in sugar free and sugar versions. Don't grab the wrong one by mistake!:scared1:

Nell: You are so sweet. I love everything you said to Natalie.

Oh, yes, the laundry obsession is pretty easy to live with! He was also great with a sick kid. He's a real keeper.

Have a good sleep everyone! I guess Pony finally went to bed at a reasonable hour.

She's probably in her jammies curled up but talking on the phone to China! :rotfl:

Oh, Natalie: I forgot to say I'm sure you would make a terrific realtor. You are great with details and people. You could get in just in time for the turn-around:woohoo:

Our volleyball team won and it was the 1000 match for the coach so a lot of celebrating.:cheer2::cheer2:

As I was watching I was surfing the web a bit and went to a link I have for low carb recipes.:surfweb:

Kathy this is perfect for you. She has a pumpkin roll recipe and a milk chocolate recipe that is low carb.:dance3:

http://low-carb-news.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-07-31T20:04:00-07:00&max-results=7

This page has the milk chocolate recipe at the very bottom. There are recipes listed along the side and the pumpkin roll recipe is listed there. I recieve a newsletter from her. SHe would like you to buy her books - I haven't, but the volume 2 one might be interesting. I just don't cook very much anymore so have to think twice about cookbooks!! I love to collect them! If you can't find what I am talking about I will try to copy the recipes as they are on the web.

I went over to LCF tonight too and posted a bit. Nothing stellar, though!!! I actually had a problem getting one of my posts to go through. Not sure why.....

Till Sunday.....

Nell, thanks for the idea!! I never thought of that. Could you share how you do the herbs (like what kind)? That would be awesome to cook with!!

Thank you so much for the site. I'll check it out this evening when we get home. I may have to get the cookbook. I don't cook much because I don't really have many ideas. I did get some of the Better Home and Garden's cookbooks. They were on sale at Ollies really cheap.
Thanks again. Ya, I noticed not much going on over there too. Hope it doesn't die out...

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well. After catching up and responding, don't have a lot of time to type. Just wanted to say have a great day everyone.
Lisa, good luck at your open house. I'll say a little prayer that it gets sold. It would be hard having 2 mortgages. Thankfully Mike is very money wise, and when we bought our house, he paid it off in 2 years. Every bit of our money went to pay it off. When the recession hit, we were so thankful we don't have a mortgage. I don't think we would have made it through. Especially with him getting laid off in Feb.
Ok, going to get ready so we can leave by 11. A 2 hour ride, an hour meeting, and a 2 hour ride home. Packed some things to take with me, and got my water too.
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Morning Everyone! A little nippy here still, but hoping to get back into the 70's for this week...whew...not ready for winter quite yet! Not ever actually!! LOL

Alright you smart alecs...I DID NOT call China...China called ME!! :lmao: and yes, thats why I went to bed early, so I could chat in comfort from bed with my doggie and my pillow!!

OK Lisa and Kate !!! Did you hear Kathy say yuk to hazelnuts? So go get her!! Tell her how to open her mind and broaden her horizons! :lmao:

Barb - I agree that when the elderly start to fail it is imperative to get them somewhere they can be happy but still be SAFE. My best friends MIL not only started that fire on the stove, but ended up dying in that same fire because no one noticed the flames until it was too late...so sad.

Lisa - so we are the "Dumbos" in the room over at the old thread...well I for one LOVE Dumbo, so I am PROUD to be the "Dumbo" in the room!! I posted once there in three days and nobody noticed I am not there...I usually posted there about 10-15 times a day! I can see myself stopping altogether at some point until Diane opens her own Forum.
BTW - I am a realtor too! Got my CT license about 10 years ago, but after moving here decided not to pursue my Va license. Things here are so far apart that when I was working with my realtor here it would take all day just to see like 3-4 properties...they have to spend a ton on gas and time, so thought it wouldnt be worth it. Good luck on your open house!!

Did you get an e-mail from Diane? She responded to mine late last night, said she is still checking her e-mail while on vacation...maybe not answering everyone, but she wanted to tell me that she checked my numbers and menus and that they are perfect and she says to go ahead and stay on step 1 for the whole 4 weeks then check with her again. She just doesnt want me to start yo yoing between steps. So I am here for 3 more weeks, then we shall see!

Kate - you can fly here and bring me some Davinci syrups anytime you want!!

Jocelyn - the pumpkin roll thing is a divine creation of pumpkin/spice cake with a delightful cream cheese filling rolled up in it and presented as a sort of spiral slice...it is da BOMB!!

Kathy - good luck at your meeting and I am going to search Walmart today for the syrups, I love all those flavors...hazel nut too!

Thanks for the links to the Clarks too...they are amazing and the TSO site says they are coming to Virginia after Thanksgiving...nearest spot is 2 hours from me, but I might just make the trip, it is SO WOrth it!!

Natalie - I guess I am starting to just not care about the other thread, especially since all of you are right here! There isnt anyone there I am missing right now, and Georgia is just going to have a very tiny kingdom to rule! Notice that she didnt even put a link to the new thread on the old one? So she will probably lose even more people this week if they dont go searching for the new link.:confused3

Cindy: Posts were deleted by admin if they mentioned getting our own thread and being frustrated by no response - Kate - mentioning a shake mix - Robin - mentioning a website - me, etc.

Pony and I responded to Texan about what was so valuable about our group and it being about so much more than recipes, then she got snippy. The next thing you know I got this really crazy PM from GeorgiaLee where she proclaims she is splitting the threads. All I said was "I'm confused. It seemed like no one or almost no one voted to do this." in so many words. She responded that there would be no discussion and that Robin and I needed to 'cut out the drama'. Yeah. That's what happened. Nell rescued us with the Yahoo forum and Beverly brought us to chat heaven over here.:littleangel:

Oh, and you decide for yourself, of course, but when we were teenagers, we had to help our Mom clean. I was terrible with my son - did way too much for him and he didn't know how to do anything when he left for college. I would do better at teaching him how to run a household if I could do it over again. He did do well in school and had a job, though.

Hi Lisa - The teenagers do clean. CayLeigh has dishes, Shane does the garbage and Jason has counters and vacuuming, but I go behind them. As soon as Jason vacuums, and remember he is a teenager and doesn't vacuum like Mom, it's dirty again. The dishes are never done and no one wants to put their own dishes in the dishwasher. I could have them do more especially on the weekends. Laundry itself is a 24/7 project. One day it will be easier, but not until it's Jeff and me...:upsidedow

Cindy, just thinking of 5 kids wears me out these days!! Your story is a miracle in itself...........I know you appreciate everyday no matter what!

I need to bring the Zumba to our little Texas town:cool1:

I am beat and off to bed!

Gena

Thanks Gena - Hope you had a good rest last night. I must say I've been sleeping so good since I've been on the MM:faint:

What about Tutu? Is she over here? I have been so busy the last few days that I haven't been on much but I don't remember seeing her? I am so glad everyone is over here. Warm and fuzzies!
