Geriatric mm warriors (12/30/09)

My oldest daughter's birthday is tomorrow, Jan 20th........we think. She was born around midnight of Jan 19th and came so quickly (because the Dr wanted to get home to bed so he upped my Pettocin Drip and she was born within 1/2 hr) we all forgot to look at the clock until about 10mins after midnight on the 20th. We just decided to agree that she was born on the 20th. I think she enjoys having this little drama story of her birth. We really don't know which day she was born on.

Very cute! Happy Birthday to your daughter. My oldest daughter was born on my birthday. People have asked me before if I planned that? :confused3

Robin & Kathy:

Does that mean you don't like guacamole? OMG! I can't even imagine that!

Robin - we are definately (I can never spell that word) getting the rain you are reading about. Lots of thunder, lightening and wind yesterday. More of the same today. We need it though. My father is a almond grower and he has grapes too. He lost 25% of his almond crop last year because of the lack of water. Fortunately for me, my office is about one mile from my house so I don't have to swim very far to get to work!

Carol and Lisa - I hope you are safe and have power. We never lost power yesterday but my sister did. She lives in the Santa Cruz mountains and always loses power for days on end. They finally bought a generator a year or so ago.

Oops Bev, its definitely NOT 12 cups! LOL, I think I fixed it so nobody else gets it wrong. I think your idea to layer it is a good one too. Fried Ravioli is an Italian thing...comfort food that is way too yummy! I refuse to tell anyone how to make it, or we will all be off plan!

I wonder if your fried ravioli is anything like the "toasted ravioli" of the midwest. It is ravioli that has sort of a light bread crumb coating that is then deep fried and served with marinara sauce. I thought it had been invented in St. Louis.

Yes, I have a hard time with the water during the colder months, I have been drinking more of the hot green tea though.

Strangest thing happened to me yesterday, for the first time in 44 years I had a nose bleed  I was like What the french toast! :surfweb:I have read where it can be a vitamin K deficiency, so I ate a bunch of spinach yesterday. Turns out it could be from all the cold weather we have been having down here and running the heat that it might have dried up my sinuses. eeeewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!! I hope to check back in with you guys before Monday but if I don't  to you all.

Zumba Laura

Laura - maybe your body is a little "dry" due to the lack of water. Will we have to start zapping you?

Stay strong, Barb! Some days I did over snack on the nuts, but at least they are legal. I especially don't know what I'd do without Cocoa Emerald almonds. You'll be back to Step 2 before you know it. Thank goodness I got over that popcorn and ice cream craving! I ate frozen grapes instead. Greek yogurt has been a really nice treat, too.

Lisa - you are the bomb at staying strong and on plan!

I decided to just do the whole month of Jan and will start Step 2 in Feb. I haven't weighed, but will probably do so tomorrow just to see where I am.

Sandra - good to see you and good luck on Step 1. I think in some ways it is easier than Step 2.

I had a wonderful few days with my girls in Tahoe earlier this week. We left on Sunday and came back on Tuesday - we stayed in a condo. We played scrabble, watched movies, skied (I ski - the girls are on snowboards). Chloe is packing as I am writing this. It has been so wonderful having her home for these past few weeks (almost five weeks - yikes). She decided that she wants to drive her car back to school and of course, I am worried to death. She is leaving in the morning and will drive to Bend OR where she will stay with a friend from school. That part of the drive is about eight hours. She and the friend will drive from Bend to Tacoma on Sunday - another five or so hours. I would love some "safe driving" prayers for Chloe this weekend.

Kate - sounds like you had a great time with your girls :goodvibes I was glad to hear that Chloe made it back to school fine.

I was thinking yesterday about how about this time of year, I am usually pretty depressed, and ready to get some medication. This year, I don't feel it yet. I still get my down days, but nothing like it used to be. I think it's because of this WOE and the extra vitamin D. I am taking about 4,000-6,000 iu of it a day. I think between the two of them, I am feeling about 85* better. It's almost like a whole new word is opening up for me.

Kathy - Isn't it amazing how this WOL seems to heal our entire body? I'm glad to hear you are feeling well.

I find that I have truly changed my way of eating...even the cheats are minuscule compared to the carbs I ate before this WOE. Give yourself credit for what you are eating on plan....

I'm off to see if I can find a store that will either donate a case of toothpaste or sell it at a reduced price. At church tonight, we are putting together Hygiene Kits for disaster relief areas like Haiti.

Carol - bless you for what you are doing for the Haitians. The stories coming out of there right now are absolutely frightening.

I found my favorite career skirt in Ross again 2 sizes smaller so I bought it for inspiration! It was only $14.99.:dance3:

Yea for a smaller size!

Just a word of inspiration of how MM is working...I lost 2 - 4 lbs. over the holidays and my favorite Spring skirt from 4 years ago fits again. Not bragging, just want to encourage those that are having trouble sticking to it that it's soooo worth it! I've never, ever weighed less in January than in November! Even without being able to exercise because of my hurts, I'm still losing.

You are our inspiration!!!

Good Evening Everyone

Well, when I opened my Word file it said it had saved the one that I was working on when I inadvertently pulled the plug on the computer so here it is a few days late!!!!

Beverly – the pasta sauce came from Costco – it’s not too bad, but they don’t seem to have anymore. If you can find Golden Grains Marinara Sauce – that is low carb, too. Congratulations on all the weight lost, too!! I hope the dr appointment went well

Here is Dana Carpender’s Hoisen Sauce. We like it as a Thai sauce as is.

4 Tbl soy sauce
2 Tbl creamy natural butter
2 Tbl Splenda
2 Teasp white vinegar
1 clove garlic crushed
2 tea toasted sesame oil
1/8 teasp Chinese Five Spice

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend together.
Store in refrigerator
It is a freebie on MM

Jocelyn - thanks for the recipe. It sounds yummy.

I did find a very low carb spaghetti sauce at Trader Joe's, so with the low carb pasta I found at our local orchard, I am set to go!

Thanks for all of the safe driving prayers yesterday - Chloe made it to Bend safe and sound. She said the 8 hour drive was "fun." Oh, to be 18 again... She has a shorter drive to Tacoma today and will have a school friend with her.

I can't imagine ever calling an 8 hour drive fun. I don't like to drive that much, but glad she is safe.

OMG, I am so behind I don't know if I can ever catch up with your guys. I'm barely getting to use the computer, and then I have to harvest my farmville crops. :lmao: I hope everyone is well. The new laptop cord is being ordered the very next time I get paid. I miss you all!

I went to visit with friends yesterday and Brenda (my friend) sent me home with a container of homemade chili with tons of beans, peppers and even mushrooms! Delicious! And with the amount I eat at a time it will last forever. I suppose I'm going to have to share though. :rotfl: Oh well. It's still really good. Hopefully it lasts a little while. I like that when she cooks that the veggies are not overcooked. Beans are so good for us too!

Well, I wanted to make sure you all know that I love you and am still with you in spirit even if I can't get my hands on a keyboard or my eyes on any posts. I put a new photo of my baby kitten Holly on facebook. I will attempt to catch up and share some more tonight. :grouphug:

Nell - we miss you! Come back and visit soon. I saw that Dr. Phil has a woman on today who is "addicted" to Farmville and is now ignoring the needs of her family. I bet that will be a fun one to watch.

I didn't do too well on step1 yesterday. Had some snacks that were definitely not part of any plan. I'm doing better today and thinking that I just need to make a big pot of legal soup that I can munch on during this rainy week. That sounds really good

Let us know what recipe you end up using that is Step 1 legal. I think it would even be a freebie on Step 2 then.

Had to laugh when I went to the dump today...the retired gentleman that presides over the transfer station has had a bit of a "crush" on me since we moved here...I see him every Sunday when I go, and he has asked me out on a couple of occasions. My neighbors bust my butt about it all the time, as whenever THEY go to the dump, he stays in the little "guard house" thing, but when I go, he comes running out to help me with my bags! LOL, my Godson comes with me sometimes and never fails to report back home to his parents that Ron was flirting with me! Well today he came running out in the rain and stopped in his tracks and said WOW, you're losing weight! OMG, I guess I LOVE him after all!! haha, nice to hear the compliment from someone who hasnt seen you in awhile...I have been going on Tuesdays and this was my first Sunday there since before Christmas. Bless his heart!

Robin has a boyfriend, Robin has a boyfriend........No wait------ Robin has 2 boyfriends, Robin has 2 boyfriends.

Even better for you are broccoli sprouts. They are 300% stronger in antioxidants than broccoli itself. I use the sprouts a lot in salads. They go especially well with avacado and/or tomato.

Lisa, can you buy the broccoli sprouts in the store? They sound yummy and I like both sprouts and broccoli, so it sounds like something I would love.

Is there a broccoli sprout supplement?

Sun is back out here and looks like we might even hit 60 degrees one day this week! WOW, weird weather this past few months...but we will definitely TAKE this warm week over the deep freeze we have been in lately!

Dennis remains doing pretty well at home, but has radiation scheduled for every day this week...we thought they were going to quit that, but apparently they want to continue...so crossing my fingers and praying it doesnt give him any bad reactions this time.

If you take any more supplements, there won't be any room for food!

Lucky you for having the sun. It has either been cloudy or foggy here for the past week. We have even had "frozen fog." I love living in Illinois.....I love living in Illinois.....I love living in Illinois. lather, rinse, repeat.

I hope Dennis continues to feel better.

Chloe is back in Tacoma! I slept so much better last night. I think that now that she has done the drive once, I won't so much of a wreck next time.

I finally got the soy beans that I ordered from Amazon so I am going to try the chili this week. Which will be a perfect week for it since we are supposed to have a lot of rain.

Kate - glad Chloe made it safely. I really like the black soy beans. Do you have a whole foods nearby? I found mine there, and in the organic section of my local grocery store.

We can get the avocados year round, so you're still moving here! LOL, but I know you wont believe this...I think they're YUK!! haha, the texture is just so weird to me! kind of slimy or something...

TOM AND REBECCA ARE PREGNANT!!! According to his FB page anyway!!

I had some avocado in a salad at WDW this month. First time in forever I have eaten one, but I didn't want to sit and pick it all out. it was okay.

Thanks for the head's up on Tom and Rebecca. I went looking on FB for the info.

Good morning everyone. Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I had slept on the couch that night, and woke up to the tv being somewhat loud. I laid there a couple minutes and decided it was around 5:30. Went back to sleep and Tyson then decided to lick my face LOL. Nothing like a boxer face looking at you when you open your eyes :lmao: Anyway, he proceeded to get Mike up and I decided to figure out what time it was. I went to the kitchen and it was 7:15! I flipped out. Couldn't figure out why Carrie didn't get me up to take her to school. Start to run up the steps to wake her up and realized no school.

Went to Sam's club last night to get a prescription filled. Our Walmart wants $50/month for the generic. Sam's club wants $14! Isn't that crazy? It is worth me to go even with gas money figured in. I checked again on my syrups. They don't have what I want. Only s/f raspberry. They don't even have the regular caramel (for Mike). So, either get it at walmart, or order the davinci online. I am thinking of ordering it as the davinci has 0 net carbs and the torani caramel has 1 per tablespoon. I don't use that much in my coffee thank goodness. But I like the idea of 0.

Too funny about "sleeping in." I was able to find some of the small bottles of the syrups (Torani I think) at World Market. Do you have one of those by you?

I'm still not really doing housework and finally had to break down and get Tom to vaccum. That resulted in Bonnie getting the brushing of her life. Now he knows what I have to contend with, lol! We're having a doozy of a storm today with 40 mile an hour winds and a lot of rain. I'm hoping my clients don't want to visit houses today! Our pool is 'overfloating' as J-P used to say when he was little.

Lisa - it's really funny when they start realizing everything we actually do, isn't it? I hope your storms bring you all the water you need with no other damages!

I have to share something I read online today. About 20 people in Sweden were at a Weight Watchers meeting and the floor collapsed  Sooo, the moral to this story is, if we ever get together for a MM Warrior meeting, let's do it after we've lost our weight :lmao:

If it were any other meeting, they wouldn't have reported on it, but let's make fun of the fat people, huh?

We spent the morning separating calves that needed to go to the sale and now I hear "Mamas" balling and will all night. They just had to go, gotten too big!

Poor babies, and mommas.

Hi Ladies - I've been so busy painting my house. Did the kitchen and the foyer, with my hubby's help! It looks so good. Havent' been on the computer except to work that is. I bought another can of paint for my living room, plan on doing that over the weekend if not sooner.

I am getting ready to paint my living room next weekend. I have to wash walls and tape up all the trim this weekend, then we are having DD's "extended family" dinner on Sunday. I figure if they can have looked at the paint swatches on the wall for two years, they won't be offended by the blue tape.

We had a big storm come through here yesterday and were without power from late morning until last night at 11:00 pm. I enjoyed eating dinner by candlelight but when it got time for bed, it was hard to read with one of those book lights and a few candles. We are supposed to get more heavy storms again tomorrow and thurs so I imagine the power will be out some more.

Carol - stay safe in the storms.

Too funny about your daughter's birthday. I can't believe the Dr. didn't look at the clock!

Just a quick update on Mike's son. He seems to be doing very well. He has been going to the guidance center appointments and also the drug/alcohol appointments as well as meetings like AA but for drug abuse. I can't thank you all enough for the prayers. It has been a long road, but nothing worth doing is easy. He has been helping the elderly lady he is staying with. Shoveling, helping with things around the house, "man" type of things.

Kathy - glad to hear things are going well for Mike's son. It sounds like he is really trying to turn things around.

I've been enjoying the gym so much. I went yesterday at 6 am and walked on the treadmill for 1/2 hr. and then went on the bike for 1/2 hr. Then in the afternoon I was bored so I went back and did it over again. I watched Dr. Oz while I was there. I said to my son "America, next time you see me I'll be thin & fit." He's seen Biggest Loser, so he got the joke.

I'm still unemployed and it seems to me that job openings are becoming scarce. I've applied to over 70 jobs and have only had 2 interviews. When I send my resume it's like I'm just tossing it out the window never to hear anything again.

Diane - sounds like you are doing great at the gym. I have a friend whose DH was out of work for about 15 months. He just got a job last week, so hold tight!

Dennis continues to hold his own, and today I am off early to have luunch with a friend who is going through an aboslutely awful divorce...she had stepped away from her faith for the past year or so, and reached out to me to talk with her about it...amazing how God puts us in the right place at the right time to assist our friends in their journey back to HIM!! Pray for Angi to be strong and lean on the Lord for the strength she needs right now!

Robin, you are truly a disciple of Christ!

Robin - we are definately (I can never spell that word) getting the rain you are reading about. Lots of thunder, lightening and wind yesterday. More of the same today. We need it though. My father is a almond grower and he has grapes too. He lost 25% of his almond crop last year because of the lack of water. Carol and Lisa - I hope you are safe and have power. We never lost power yesterday but my sister did. She lives in the Santa Cruz mountains and always loses power for days on end. They finally bought a generator a year or so ago.

Hi Kate! I wasn't ignoring you, it just took me a long time to respond, and by then you have been posting away! Almonds are one of my most favorite nuts, and I even prefer them raw! I wish I had some here now.

Good morning everyone!

Well, I've been quite busy with life. Searching for a home AND finding out that I'm going to be a Daddy again can be quite taxing on one's soul! Needless to say, I have stumbled a bit here and there. I am finding it quite difficult to stay on the plan the second time around. The cravings are much stronger. Maybe it is the stress levels I am going through that is making it so tough. I really haven't done too bad looking back. Did fall for some Mexican food on Rebecca's birthday and I haven't been snacking between meals and (don't scold me Laura!) I haven't been drinking my water like I should.

I did see that there is a thread for recipes. Thank God!!!! I need an infusion of creativity!

Also, Rebecca is not doing the plan on while pregnant. She wants to eat fresh fruits and veggies so she is off MM for now.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will pop in when I can

Tom K.

Lucky you for having the sun. It has either been cloudy or foggy here for the past week. We have even had "frozen fog." I love living in Illinois.....I love living in Illinois.....I love living in Illinois. lather, rinse, repeat.

Beverly - I love your sense of humor.

Tom - Congratulations on the coming addition! How wonderful. What's the due date?

Kathy: In California, we call them Ahhhhvacacados. Maybe it’s an acquired taste, but I’d sure miss them. Also, some of the best kind of fat your body can have. Have you ever had guacamole?? We had the best guacamole believe it or not at a restaurant on Maui. The owner travels all over the world collecting recipes and the menu is eclectic.

I’m so happy to hear the great news about how Mike’s son is doing.

Robin: I love BLT’s with avocado. We use tempeh bacon, which isn’t really meat. It’s surprisingly great. Cobb salad is probably the most famous place you’ll find an avocado. Bacon, cubed turkey, bleu cheese, egg, tomato and normal people add black olives, LOL! Super good on a turkey sandwich or even on top of an omelette. Oh, and stuff half an avacado with tuna salad. Yummo. Wait, here's a better one: Stuffed with crab salad! I should open a cafe!

Have you had your trainer take any before and after pics of you? How’s the tummy doing? I wish mine would flatten all the way, but it’s down. Drives me nuts that I can still grab a handful. One of my college friends sent me some old pics today. Ouch, lol!

Kate: We have to meet for food sometime and it should include guacamole! Think of finite (like in math) to help with spelling definitely. I will need a whole new set of travel prayers for J-P on Feb. 1. He’s flying to Jackson, Wyoming to work onsite for Travis Rice, the famous snowboarder. I’m not as worried about the trip as I am about him trying to keep up with Travis on the slopes!!!! It’s been a wonderful blessing for him to meet Travis and a real honor for him to do this work so I’m happy for him anyway. I need to know what happened with Chloe’s cafeteria plan letter;) I have power today, but the wind is setting my nerves on edge. It’s awful today.

Beverly: Thanks for all the sweet words. I’m a rule follower so it’s in my nature to stay on plan, LOL! Robin would never have to worry about arresting me. I’ve never even had a parking ticket, lol!

We need to send Nell to Dr. Phil!!!

Yes, you can buy broccoli sprouts. I hope they have them in your area. Whole Foods carries them. I learned about them from Dr. Perricone, I think.

I am always trying to teach Tom how to take care of things around here, “In case I die.” He says he won’t live here without me anyway. That’s how he gets out of it, lol!

Tom: Congratulations to you and Rebecca! You are having those Daddy cravings! I think my Tom tried to match me pound for pound when I was pregnant.

A giant oak tree with a diameter at the bottom of over 6' crushed a house, trapping a woman and her two dogs. They aren't hurt and were freed by the firemen. We haven't had a storm like this in years. We need the water, but it's really dangerous when the gound gets so soaked and trees fall down.

I loved my lunch today! I'm using 1/4 cup peas for some of the carbs and planning on grating equal amounts of carrot to keep on hand for future meals. I made another Chinese chicken salad with leftover chicken, cabbage, green o's, slivered almonds, peas and Annie's Organic Shiitake dressing, which is low carb. Last time I tried to tell you about this dressing, I left out one 'i' and I got censored, LOL! A very crunchy and satisfying lunch. I crave crunch so this is great.

Darn - I was just at whole foods yesterday. I'll have to look next time.

Holy Cow! Glad they were all right. We have no lack of water right now. We live on the lake and we are at full pool plus some more. I believe the dam is open and they are letting water out. This is very unusual for January.

Well, the drama has hit my house.

I got a call from Amelia's school at 1:15 p.m. I knew it wasn't good when the Vice Principal calls. It appears that Amelia took a "live" bullet from a friend's house on Sunday. She had it in her coat pocket in school yesterday, so she put it in her bookbag in her locker. I guess her conscience was her guide (thanks Jiminy) so she returned it to her friend on the bus yesterday afternoon. Well, it fell out of his backpack and the bus driver found it. So they are both suspended thru the rest of this week. I am mad at her for 1) stealing, 2) taking that stupid thing to school and 3) getting her best friend in trouble too. She is only 10 years old.

I have told her that if Jon's family appeals his suspension she will go in front of the school board and admit that it was all her fault and Jon should never have been suspended. If she hadn't stole it and tried to return it to him on the bus, none of this would have happened to him.

So her dad and I are trying to determine what her punishment should be at home. We have agreed on 2 weeks of grounding with no playmates at our house, and she can't go to anyone else's house. Her dad thinks we should cancel her "friend" birthday party next Saturday where we were driving her and 9 of her friends to a large indoor trampoline place in St. Louis for jumping, pizza, cake, etc. I think that punishes the other kids as much as her. She loves to watch TV, maybe we should take that away from her instead.

What do you all think? Right now I am sick to my stomach because she hurt her friend, and I am hoping the family will not be too upset (these are the people we just went to WDW with). I really like these parents and don't want to lose their friendship. Good friends aren't really easy to come by.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Beverly, I know you are so upset. Poor little thing; she made a really bad choice, but I bet she never does anything like this again. I have always heard that punishment should be related to the infraction, when at all possible, and that if it's too traumatic, like losing a party, it's not a good idea. I think I would try for some kind of service to pay back the family she took it from and/or the community. She should absolutely try to absolve the other child and take all of the responsibility, as you said. She should also probably have some education on weaponry and safety - a film of some sort maybe and/or a tour of some kind. Perhaps then she should write a report to give to you, the other parents and the principal. Just off the top of my head. Too bad she's not 15 - the threat of losing a driver's license comes in so handy;) Now, the other parents should also learn that ALL items related to guns need to be locked away from children. Sometimes the temptation to touch taboo items leads to disaster. I have had heated arguments with my Mom about this topic. She says we grew up with guns and knew better than to touch them, but I say, "What price are you willing to risk for disobedience??" That's what I get for being raised by hillbillies from KY, lol! I am praying for Amelia to know that she is loved and to accept her punishment and to learn a great deal from this experience. Virtual hugs coming your way!

Bev, I am so sorry this has happened. Does she understand what she has done and why it was wrong? I know she didn't mean to have anything happen.
As for punishment, I would take the tv away as well as no friends for a week or two. Just make sure you keep in mind her age. I honestly don't think she realized what she was doing as being wrong. As for the party, if it had already been planned and people are relying on you for a carpool so to speak, then I say go ahead and do it. I feel so bad for her and for you. I am sending some prayers your way that the other parents will be understanding about this.
My question is, how did she manage to get a "live" bullet at their house? Do they not keep them under lock and key?
I grew up with guns in the house that weren't locked up, but we also knew to NEVER touch them without an adult. When we went to camp, we were always taught how to shoot the 22 with dad or our friend's dad right beside us. Just seems weird that she was able to gain access to the ammunition.
Just my 2 cents

When you get to Step 2, you can have 15 of the ones I buy. It's a good number. Motivation!:wizard:

Lisa, I can't wait!! That has been my biggest demon during this whole WOE on step 1. I can go with out the candy, cakes, and such, but those dang nacho chips LOL. I am going to try to make some with my Sami wraps. They are a freebie.

Beverly,

Welcome to the world of teens and pre-teens. I really had very few issues with my older 3 kids but did have some challenges like this with my youngest daughter. Making bad, stupid choices happened several times.

Grounding for 2 wks sounds fair. No t.v. during that time is something I'm all for. I'm of the "no tv ever because it has no redeeming qualities and encourages you to focus on wants instead of needs" type of person. I really feel that quite a few situations are instigated by seeing someone on a tv program do some irresponsible thing and making it a familiar behavior for you to do. Oh well, that's just me.

If it were me, I would postpone the party until after she's off restriction. Not as a punishment per say, but just as not being appropriate for someone that is on restriction. It kind of takes the consequence of the grounding away. She would have it to look forward to as a reward for completing her "banishment" from society.

Like Lisa, I would also be concerned about the friend's parents failure to keep these live bullets away from their children and friends. Haven't they learned anything from all the high school shootings? What was their son doing taking them out to show them to your daughter? That was very irresponsible on his part, too. Yes, she shouldn't have taken it, but she also should not have had that opportunity. They need to own their part in this, too.

Good Luck, Beverly. Hopefully you won't have too many of these occurrences as your kids go through their teens. That is something I will pray for for you!

Like Lisa, we have had a lot of wind, rain, thunder and lightning today. Lots of flooding...we have some water coming up under the slab downstairs and into my daughter's dining room. We need a French drain on that side of the house since we have problems with it during really heavy rainfalls. That goes on the never-ending list of things that need to be done around here.

Talk to you all later,

Carol

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Lisa, I can't wait!! That has been my biggest demon during this whole WOE on step 1. I can go with out the candy, cakes, and such, but those dang nacho chips LOL. I am going to try to make some with my Sami wraps. They are a freebie.

Nice! We don't have those available over here. The ones I found that fit the formula are blue corn and they are really delicious. Start looking at the stores now so you know what to buy when you get to Step 2. What's your Step 2 date? I'm getting so anxious to be able to exercise. It's driving me nuts to sit around with my legs elevated. I'm slowly getting better. I have to show houses tomorrow and I sure wish I could wear my boots - it's really, really wet around here.

Long, lonely evening looming for me and Bonnie. It's worse when it's so dark and dreary and we can't even stick our heads outside. That includes Bonnie; she's pottying at record speed today! I wish I could start on my picture project, but it's not good to keep the legs down for long. Fireplace, book and American Idol, then hot bath. I guess that's the plan, but it won't please Bonnie. She's depressed and Daddy's only 20 minutes late so far!

Carol: You are very wise. I appreciate you! It's so scary being a parent sometimes. We wonder how they ever grow up in one piece.
