Robin: Please don't give up on fixing the issue with your computer! It's awful without you here when you're not working. We miss you! What the heck is up with Nell? We miss her, too!!!
Lisa - I didn't know it was a rerun. Sorry.
Hi guys!! Hope all is well. Feeling pretty good this morning. Actually slept well, even with Mike coughing up a storm. Didn't hear him at all.
Took Tyson for a short 1/2 hour-45 min walk already this morning. It is cloudy a bit rainy, but not too bad. Really enjoyed it.
I had a bit of oatmeal last night. I put some truvia in it with s/f vanilla syrup. Tasted like rice pudding to me!! I am having a bit more this morning for breakfast. The scale kept me at 169 after the oatmeal last night, so going to add it in a bit. I am doing 1/2 cup water to 1/4 cup oatmeal. I am thinking that is almost a cup of oatmeal cooked.
Went to the reflexologist last night. He worked on my feet and my knee. I have no pain at all in my knee now. It was really something to witness and have done. I made another appointment for next week. I need him to work on my back also. The lower and upper (by my shoulder blades and neck) are really bothering me. Not as much since he worked on my feet and legs.
They also told me to drink Stinging Nettle tea. They told us where to pick it locally in April and May (the best times) and how to dry it, prepare it and such. He said it will give me the energy I am lacking. He also said about my adrenal glands, he said my thyroid is starting to get lazy (for lack of better words. I will have to have my doctor run a tests on it and make sure he checks the T3 and T4 levels. I know it's in the CFS book, so I need to check on it to be sure.
WARNING: MAY BE TMI:
he and his wife told me about coffee enemas. they explained how to make one and how to do it. I did one last night and this morning. My intestines and stuff feel so much better!! They are also getting less "poofy". They told me a lot of cancer patients will do this and it helps get rid of the tumors.
Ok, figured that was enough of that LOL. But it has made me feel better already. Not the bloated feeling.
I hope everyone has a great day!! I'll catch up later.
Cindy: Dr. Teitelbaum has some wonderful chapters in his book about why thyroid tests are so unreliable. He believes in treating to the symptoms more than to the test. His book is called From Fatigued to Fantastic. It also has an appendix for physicians you can take to your doctor. My doctor was enlightened and impressed.
Good afternoon everyone!!
I don't want to be counted among the MIA's, so here I am!![]()
Will someone please give me a little more information about "eating raw"? Diane? Cindy? I'm too cheap to put money out on a book before I know what it's all about. I've been mapping out a garden for spring and honestly don't know what to plant besides cucumbers, tomatoes and jalapenos. We have five acres, so it can be large enough to do just about anything I can imagine. I just can't imagine, I guess.I'm very open to suggestions on this!
Hugs to you all!![]()

Pam - This website (http://www.living-foods.com/recipes) has a lot of interesting information on eating raw. Wow - you're going to have a fantastic garden. What about growing green beans, broccoli, and cantaloupe?
Kathy - we're the same on the scale. I had my thyroid checked too but it was completely fine (thinking that's why I wasn't losing weight unless I was only drinking liquids). I do coffee enemas at least once a month. They are fantastic and make you feel so much better!!! Did they tell you about colonics hydrotherapy too lolCleans you out even more! Talk about TMI!!
!
Hope you are having a nice morning!
Kathy - I would love to find a good reflexologist around here. I went to one a few years ago, but all she did was talk during the 45 min. Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk and about nothing interesting either! I'm glad you're feeling better. I remember Michael Landon talking to Johnny Carson about coffee enemas. I remember Johnny's face.![]()
I love that we are all exploring new ways of eating. I have a couple of books on raw eating by Natalia Rose. I know it's not something I could do full-time, but once in a while. We went to a restaurant in NYC called Quintessence that is all raw and had soup there a few years ago. I don't even remember what kind it was, but I remember that it was okay.
Last night while I was trying to fall asleep I was so hungry, but too lazy to get up. I was thinking of all the things I would eat today. When I woke up I wasn't even hungry.
Stop and Shop had 'Pepsi Throwback' recently. It was the old packaging and it said 'made with real sugar'. I guess if people demand it in the USA they'll bring it back.
We're expecting a washout this weekend. The rain is supposed to start tonight and end on Monday. My son is upset because the St. Patrick's day 'Pub Crawl' is scheduled for Saturday. I think they will reschedule. It's a big fundraiser for local causes.
Hi Cindy. They didn't tell me about the colonics hydrotherapy, but I did see information on it when I was researching the coffee enema. I wanted to read up on it tonight. I am extremely interested in this. I want to totally detox myself. After all those years of smoking, not eating right, and just plain not taking care of myself, I feel a need to do this.
Can I ask how much coffee you use for the enema? I think she said a pint, but not sure. I know online some have said as much as a quart. Possibly as much as you can hold? I can only hold the pint for about 5 minutes, and need to work my way up to 15!
Also, do you do it once a day or more like twice a day? Also, how long do I continue to do them? For a week? I know I still have lots of waste to get rid of.
Thanks for the help on this Cindy LOL. I am learning. Just don't let Robin hear us talking, or she'll be paranoid that we will make her do one(Love you Robin even though you can't get on here at home
)
I used to make this a lot:
Red, yellow and/or orange peppers cut into strips
Mushrooms sliced
Sundried tomatoes in a package
Fresh cilantro
Brown rice penne
Organic vegetable broth
Saute the peppers and mushrooms in the vegetable broth, along with the sundried tomatoes
Cook penne according to package
Stir pasta into tender veggies and add lots of chopped cilantro. Thicken if desired with additional veggie broth and some Thick n' Thin or add more broth to desired moistness.
Top with hemp seed - you'll think it's parm and it adds lots of protein
Quick, easy, vegan, delish!
Pam: Would you enjoy planting some chard and kale in your garden? My sister had beautiful ones this year. Oh, and her green beans were great.
Hi Kathy - I did them once a week. Did you notice an energy boost! I love when I do them as I feel FANTASTIC after. For the colonics, I had 3 of them in a 2 month period of time. That was very interesting!
For the coffee amount I believe we did 8 cups of coffee at a time. Jeff did them with me and he couldn't hold it all for a long time either...5-10 minutes. Blockage
I do know when I did my detox I felt so light and didn't get the mid-afternoon blahhhhhs.
I must admit this is sooo easy for me. I'm really not craving anything at all and feel full with the foods that I am eating.
My hubby and I are going to a home show tonight to see all the different vendors show us what we can't afford to do to our house, but at least it's a night out for me...yippeee...![]()
