George Kalogridis Salary

Not sure where I'd post this, but does anyone have an idea as to how much George Kalogridis or other high-up WDW execs are making salary-wise?

George and his partner just moved into my neighborhood and a few other disney executives live here as well and none of their houses seem on par with what I would have expected someone of that level to be living in.

He makes a good amount of money. Not all rich people live in mansions. Some rich people prefer to live regular lives like the rest of us without feeling the need to overindulge on everything.

What neighborhood do you live in? I heard he was building a house. Well at least that is what he was telling CMs where he was staying at Congress Park at Saratoga Springs just the other day... He's the president of Disneyland Resorts, right??

He is building a home in Golden Oaks. I am sure he has a pretty nice salary.

He probably bought the house as a place to stay while the house is being built, so he can be in the area for decisions and such.

General managers at resorts used to make (not that long ago) about 100K...

That was 2000 room, 97% occupancy year round, huge revenue hotels...

Think about how laughable that is

I have a feeling you're right. I'm a big believer in living beneath your means, but even considering so I'd still be surprised. WDW and all it's components are huge money makers for Disney...you'd think they'd pay well in relation. 100 grand is comfortable, but more comparable to what others are making in much smaller positions at other companies.

They probably also have great benefits, stock options, retirement and bonuses ... plus they get to be at WDW year-round. It's a reasonable base salary until you compare it to the CEO.

The upper echelon corporates are of course well compensated...

Anyone from upper middle all the way down to entry are not.

And let's just be clear: work is work.

While it might be great scenery (it is) and definitely out of the ordinary for a workplace...it's still not a party.

Working in disneyworld isn't like "living on vacation"...it has it's trade offs
Like living anywhere.

Typically the trade offs are getting blasted all the time due to profit pressure or customer expectations off the charts and low wages for the amount of monies being charged/collected where you are working...

Agreed, but that's really not much different from the economy as a whole. You work your butt off for medium wages in hopes that one day you are among the chosen few selected for the elite upper echelons of the business.

If his were a crappy job, I suspect he could find another. There is a reason they stay, whatever it is.

Oops!! My bad I forgot! As of Feb 1, he took over as president of WDW from Meg Crofton!!

So, what's always interesting is the top brass has to list out there compensation in SEC filings, and was wondering how far it goes down. Not enough for Meg Crofton, who Kalogridis is taking over for.

Iger made about $40 million in 2012 in salary, stock options, etc. (obviously if stock goes up it's worth more than that.)
Jay Rasulo (CFO) made about $12 million.
Alan Braverman (General Counsel) made a shade over $8 million.
Kevin Mayer & M Jayne Parker are in the $4 million range (these are vice presidents)

I would assume that at Kalogridis level, you are probably talking the $3-$4 million annual range. Maybe higher, but that is ballpark. He has probably been getting stock options for a while though - and as the value of Disney stock shifts his previous salaries compensate him better than they did.
